This article discovers by facilitating a brief recognition of Gender-based violence (hereinafter GBV) and its impact in society as breach of human rights which administration is abandoning for years. It’s a misery for our country to lack in making good policies regarding gender disputes and social rights related to human beings. The article reconnoitres different behaviours in which women are being victimized, degree of violence, its effect on victims and society at large. The current investigation will also covers adequacy of prevailing laws for women’s safety; acquiescence by Government and to what extent Pakistan fulfils its legal pledge related to CEDAW? Moreover flaw existing in CEDAW and Pakistan’s current debate in parliament to have new regulations in this sphere is also being discussed. In the end, suggestions and recommendations are made for Government, United Nations and Global Community for applied purpose through which women can be provided legal safeguard.

Abstract The results of studies of the physical, mechanical and tribological characteristics of PVD and DLC coatings are presented. The complex of basic mechanical properties (hardness H and elastic modulus E), as well as derivatives of mechanical characteristics H/E and Н3/Е2 , were investigated by the method of continuous indentation at various loads. The friction coefficient, the wear rate of the sample and the counterbody were determined as tribological indicators. The applied purpose of the work was to determine the friction unit for applying the developed coatings, materials and modes of applying PVD and DLC coatings. To solve this problem, a test bench was designed and built that simulates the operation of the selected friction unit. As a result of the research carried out, the results of laboratory and bench tests were compared. The performance of the coatings was determined by the volume of the tooth wear of the sleeve and the tip with the help of the method of micrometric measurements. As a result of the study of the surface morphology, the volumes of wear of rubbing conjugations and the intensity of their wear were determined. It has been established that the results of bench tests confirm laboratory studies and suggest that such an installation can be used for researching other heavily loaded spline conjugations.

By the interaction between N-methylolthiourea and Co2+, Mn2+ acetates are obtained compounds that were later used for the synthesis of vinyl bifunctional groups containing polymerizable chelate complexes. These compounds are recommended to be used as crosslinkers for obtaining, on the basis of water-based soluble monomers, spatially cross-linked water-swellable copolymers with applied purpose. There are dynamics of water absorption of copolymers from the time of their stay in water.

This study aimed to investigate the relationship between digital literacy and the quality of life of the elderly in Arak. The research is a descriptive survey in terms of applied purpose and terms of method and nature. The statistical population of the present study included all the elderly in Arak who were at least 64 years and older; 376 participants were selected using the sampling method. Participants were assessed with the help of digital literacy and quality-of-life questionnaires. To analyze the data, descriptive statistics (mean, standard deviation) and inferential statistics (analysis of covariance) were used using the SPSS-21 software. The results showed that all parameters of digital literacy had a direct and significant effect on the quality of life of the elderly. Among the quality-of-life parameters, the impact of the physical environment health was less than that of the others.

This handbook provides a strong collection of communication- and psychology-based theories and models on media entertainment, which can be used as a knowledge resource for any academic and applied purpose. Its 41 chapters offer explanations of entertainment that audiences find in any kind of ‘old’ and ‘new’ media, from classic novels to VR video games, from fictional stories to mediated sports. As becomes clear in this handbook, the history of entertainment research teaches us not to forget that even if a field is converging to a seemingly dominant perspective, paradigm, and methodology, there are more views, alternative approaches, and different yet equally illuminative ways of thinking about the field. Young scholars may find here innovative ways to reconcile empirical-theoretical approaches to the experience of entertainment with such alternative views. And there are numerous entertainment-related phenomena in contemporary societies that still fit the „bread and circuses-“ perspective of the initial Frankfurt School thinking. So while the mission of the present handbook is to compile and advance current theories about media entertainment, scholars active or interested in the topic are invited to also consider the historic roots of the field and the great diversity it has featured over the past nearly 100 years. Many lessons can be learned from this history, and future innovations in entertainment theory may just as likely emerge from refining those approaches compiled in the present handbook as from building on neglected, forgotten, or marginalized streams of scholarship.

The description of the unified platform of small spacecraft AIST-2 is presented. The platform is intended to accommodate various types of science equipment, Earth remote sensing equipment and onboard support systems. The description of the unified platform design, main onboard systems, ground control facilities, data acquisition and processing is given. The results of design studies, construction and operation of small spacecraft built on the basis of the AIST-2 unified platform are presented. The design, onboard composition, technical characteristics and results of operation of the first small spacecraft in the line – AIST-2D which it was launched on April 28, 2016 in the scope of the first launch campaign from the Vostochny Cosmodrome by the Soyuz-2.1a launch vehicle with the Volga ascent unit are described in detail. The results of design studies on the development of advanced small spacecraft based on the AIST-2 platform capable of functioning as part of the space monitoring system are described. Key words: small spacecraft, unified platform, design configuration, remote sensing of the Earth, stereoscopic image equipment, electro-rocket propulsion system.

This research is a description of correlational type in terms of applied purpose and methodology, because it seeks to discover the relationships of each of the variables of the research and It is applicable because its expected results can be applied in Iran. The statistical population of this study includes data on Iran and the seven developed and developing countries of China, Japan, Malaysia, Korea, Indonesia, India and Singapore, which are data for 2016 and 2017. According to the limited population of the statistical community, the whole number method has been used to determine the sample size. In this research, the tools for evaluating and measuring the considered variables are time series. To analyze the data of this research, Excel software has been used. The outcomes indicate that Internet investment affects economic growth in Iran and the seven developed and developing countries of China, Japan, Malaysia, Korea, Indonesia, India and Singapore.

This chapter defines resilience in different contexts comprehensively, and organizes the mathematical theory of network resilience by providing a generalization in order to create a quantitative framework for resilience characterization of an infrastructure network. At this point, a new performance index measuring delivery importance was employed for an applied purpose and an industrial example using realistic data was solved to evaluate the resilience of the entire network. It can be utilized for any type of hazard which might lead to the disruption of the system. The principles and theory in this study can also be applied to other infrastructures that are interconnected and operate as a network, such as transporting systems, electrical power, water supply and distribution systems.
