Preliminary: Hallucinations are sensory perception disorders of an object without any external stimulation covering all five senses. Chromotherapy or color therapy is a colorful light therapy by healing a patient's hallucinatory disease.Aim: To find out the effect of chromotherapy on decreasing the level of vision hallucinations in sensory perception disorder patients at Prof. Mental Hospital M. Ildrem of North Sumatra Province in 2020.Method: This research is an experimental research that is pre-experimental design using one group prepost using a comparison group (control) with a sample of 15 respondents while the research instrument uses questionnaire sheets and observation sheets. Data analysis used bivariate analysis namely Paired Sample T-Test.Results: Bivariate test results with the Paired Sample T-Test Test prove that there is an effect of the chromotherapy action on the decrease in the level of hallucinations before and after the action is proven by p: 0,000 <0.05.Conclusion:  there is an effect of chromotherapy on the decrease in the level of visual hallucinations in patients with sensory perception disorder

Objective To review characteristics and outcomes of all cases of visual snow seen at our institution, with attention to possible triggering events or comorbidities. Methods This is a retrospective case series of patients seen at our tertiary care center from January 1994 to January 2020. Charts were reviewed if they contained the term “visual snow”. Results Of the 449 charts reviewed, 248 patients described seeing visual snow in part or all of their vision. Thirty-eight reported transient visual snow as their typical migraine aura. Of the remaining 210 patients, 89 were reported to have either an inciting event or contributing comorbidity for their visual snow symptoms, including: Post-concussion (n = 15), dramatic change in migraine or aura (n = 14), post-infection (n = 13), hallucinogen persisting perception disorder (n = 10), ocular abnormalities (n = 7), idiopathic intracranial hypertension (n = 4), neoplastic (n = 1), and posterior cortical atrophy (n = 1). Some patients had partial improvement with benzodiazepines (n = 6), lamotrigine (n = 5), topiramate (n = 3) and acetazolamide (n = 3). Presenting characteristics were similar, but patients with visual snow attributed to an inciting event or contributing comorbidity were more likely to have some improvement in their symptoms by last follow-up compared to spontaneous visual snow ( p < .001). Conclusions Though most cases of visual snow are spontaneous, potential secondary causes should be recognized by clinicians. Patients who develop visual snow after an inciting event or related to an underlying comorbidity may have a better prognosis than those in whom it develops spontaneously. In select cases, treatment of the suspected underlying cause may significantly alleviate the otherwise typical intractable visual disturbances associated with visual snow.

Hallucinogens are a drug class that is growing in popularity with college students. Recent experimental trends, such as microdosing, have helped promote the use of hallucinogens on campus, and students may be tempted to use these substances due to their beliefs about the drugs’ positive effects on mood. Although hallucinogens are not currently an established form of medical therapy, studies have shown that they have significant benefits as adjunctive treatments for psychological disorders. However, the recreational use of these drugs in college students often occurs in uncontrolled doses or with drug mixing, which is often dangerous. Furthermore, students with mental health disorders may have their symptoms masked by hallucinogenic drug use, which could delay treatment and have serious consequences. Long-term use of these drugs may also result in tolerance or hallucinogen persisting perception disorder. This article attempts to review current information regarding hallucinogen use and how it applies to the college population.
