filled with 0-6 volume percentage of barium ferrite was performed using a Polymer Laboratory- Dynamic Mechanical Thermal Analyser (PL-DMTA) over a range of temperature from -100 to 100°C at 10hz. The results showed that the storage modulus (E') of the composites below the transition temperature increase with filler content up to ~3-4 volume percentage. Incorporation of the filler does not change the matrix glass transition that occurs around -40°C but the damping curve becomes broader with increasing filler content. The addition of filler in the compositedoes not affect the glass transition and melting temperature. The blend of TPNR and barium ferrite powder is only a physical mixture that does not act chemically.

Bulk metallic glass (BMG) formers are multicomponent alloys that vitrify with remarkable ease during solidification. Technological interest in these materials has been generated by their unique properties, which often surpass those of conventional structural materials. The metastable nature of BMGs, however, has imposed a barrier to broad commercial adoption, particularly where the processing requirements of these alloys conflict with conventional metal processing methods. Research on the crystallization of BMG formers. In this paper, we fabricated metallic glass of Nd-based and carried out experimental research. This kind of metallic glass has shown a distinct glass transition and stable super-cooled liquid region. At the same time, we find the paramagnetic performance of Nd-based metallic glass is different from other hard magnetic alloys at ordinary temperature. The DSC experiment indicate that the glass transition temperature increase with the heating temperature.

The specific heat of spin-1 and spin-3/2 mixed 3D Ising ferromagnetic system in the external magnetic field is studied by Monte Carlo method. The obtained results show that the existence of the external magnetic field makes the order-disorder phase transition temperature increase; with the crystal field increasing, the critical external magnetic field for a new magnetic order phase occurring increases, and the magnetic field range for maintaining each order phase becomes larger.

To optimize production technology of oxy-fuel float glass, a series of float glass with lower sulphate contents and 1%~5% carbon contents in glass batch were prepared under simulated oxy-fuel melting conditions. Infrared spectroscopy, thermal dilatometer and microscope were used to study water content and its state in glass melts, the change of coefficient of thermal expansion of glass, the glass softening temperature and transition temperature, and the number of bubbles in glass, respectively. The results show that the change of carbon content will slightly changes the water content, thermo properties of glass and the number of bubbles in glass. With the increase of carbon content, the coefficient of thermal expansion and the water content of glass generally decrease, while the number of bubbles, the softening temperature and the glass transition temperature increase. When the content of sulphate is 2%, the glass with 2% carbon content has the biggest water content and the best fining effect.

Bismuth-based glasses containing ZnO , B 2 O 3 and Li 2 O are investigated through different physical, polarizability and transport properties. Raman spectroscopy reveals that these glasses are built from [ BiO 3] and [ BiO 6] units. Zinc in tetrahedral form is also observed. Density and glass transition temperature increase with the bismuth content. The refractive index, oxide ion polarizability and optical basicity also increase with the Bi 2 O 3 content, whereas the interaction parameter decreases. The DC electrical conductivity increases and the activation energy decreases with the increase in the Li 2 O content.
