Objective. Comparative estimation of the pain syndrome in patients with concomitant pathology of anal channel and rectum after performance of combined operations, using modern high-frequency electro-surgical and radio-surgical apparatuses, as well as conventional scalpel. Materials and methods. The results of surgical treatment of 689 patients with concomitant pathology of anal channel and rectum, using apparatuses of a high-frequency electro-surgery and radio-wave surgery, were analyzed, using the pain syndrome estimation on 1-7th postoperative day. The patients were distributed into 4 investigation groups and a control group, consisting of 112 patients, operated on using metallic conventional surgical scalpel. Results. The pain syndrome on the first postoperative day was mostly expressed in patients of control group, for anesthesia they needed (4 ± 1) ml of 2% solution of promedol, while the patients of the first, third and fourth groups investigated, in which, accordingly, apparatus of radio-wave surgery «Surgitron» and high-frequency electro-surgical apparatuses «EFA» and «KLS Martin» were used, needed for anesthesia (2 ± 1) ml of 2% solution of promedol. While application of the electro-surgical high-frequency apparatus «ERBE ICC 200» the necessity for the 2% solution of promedol for anesthesia have constituted (3 ± 1) ml. Conclusion. Combined operations, using modern apparatuses of high-frequency electro-surgery and radio-wave surgery give significantly better results, than application of conventional surgical metallic scalpel, because it produces significantly reduced pain syndrome due to thin layer of coagulation necrosis, promoting formation of delicate elastic cicatrix and preventing development of cicatricial strictures of anal channel in postoperative period.

The aim of our observation was to measure selected anthropometric characteristics and to analyze actual body composition in children of younger school age from elementary schools in Prague. The group consisted of a total of 222 probands, boys (n-117) and girls (n-105) aged 8–11 years (average boys age = 9.0 ± 1.0 years, body height = 139.9 ± 8.6 cm, body weight = 32 ± 7.5 kg, BMI = 16.3 ± 2.4 kg.m–2). Average age girls = 8.9 ± 0.9 years, body height = 137.3 ± 8.8 cm, body weight = 30.5 ± 7.3 kg, BMI = 15.9 ± 2.4 kg.m–2). The BIA 2000 M multi-frequency apparatus (whole-body bioimpedance analysis) was used to analyze the body composition. Children of younger school age showed higher TBW values – total body water (boys 65.5 ± 6.0%, girls 66.6 ± 6.5%), low body fat (boys 16.1 ± 2.4%, girls 16.5 ± 2.9%) and higher ECM/BCM coefficients (boys 1.0 ± 0.13, girls 1.02 ± 0.11). The authors draws, attention to the importance of monitoring other body composition parameters. The percentage of fat-free mass (FFM) and the share of segmental distribution of body fat and muscle mass on individual parts of the human body.

Q measurements carried out by the vibrating bar technique on lunar sample 70215,85 have yielded Q values as high as 4800 at room temperature. The strong outgassing procedures necessary to raise the Q to these high values from Q =- 60 (when received) and studies of the effect on Q by a variety of different gases shows that the removal of thin layers of adsorbed H 2 O are responsible for the dramatic increase in Q . Experiments carried out with a low frequency apparatus on a terrestrial analogue at 50 Hz suggest similar increases in Q with outgassing, thus providing evidence that dramatic effects on Q can be expected to occur down to seismic frequencies. These results, in part, explain the contrast between seismic data in the lunar and terrestrial crust in terms of the absence and presence respectively of adsorbed H 2 O.
