Based on a comprehensive study of the physical and chemical parameters of red wine materials for sparkling wines, including the composition of phenolic compounds and chromatic color characteristics, the feasibility of using additional physical and chemical indicators in the evaluation of wine materials intended for the production of red sparkling wines is scientifically justified.

Well-designed wayfinding signs play an important role in improving the service level of metro stations, ensuring the safety of passengers in evacuation, and promoting the sustainable development of public transport. This study explored the effects of ambient illumination, color combination, sign height, and observation angle on wayfinding signs’ legibility in metro stations. In the experiment, simulated metro-wayfinding signs were made to test legibility. As designed, the legibility was measured based on the following independent variables: two levels of ambient illumination (70 lux and 273 lux), two target/background color combinations (achromatic-white target on black background, chromatic-yellow target on black background), two sign heights (1.5 m and 2 m), and three observation angles (0°, 45°, 70°). The results showed that brighter ambient illumination provided passengers with higher legibility. Achromatic color combination was more legible than chromatic color combination, but not significantly. Different types of signs, set at different height, did not directly affect legibility. Observation angle had significant effects on legibility. Visibility catchment area of wayfinding signs was like an ellipse, with its short axis nearly equal to the legibility distance of the sign at 0 degrees. The findings will facilitate the layout and setting location of wayfinding signs in metro stations and improve the level of wayfinding service.

Background: Chromatic (“color”) filter therapeutic intervention is one of the rapidly evolving areas of neuro-optometry. Case Report: We describe the use of both traditional and newer technological approaches in a multiconcussed, adult patient manifesting a constellation of visual symptoms, including visual snow. Conclusion: Our multi-pronged chromatic approach resulted in resolution of the patient’s primary related visual symptoms.

This brief article deals with the use of Indonesian words referring to colors for creating metaphorical expressions. All data presented are collected from various sources, such as Kamus Besar Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian Standard Dictionary), and added with data obtained from Oxford Advanced Leaner’s Dictionary, Indonesian proverb book, encyclopedia, terminology collection book, poetry anthology, song lyrics, and data of the author’s own creation as an Indonesian native speaker. Set aside from their literal meanings, the metaphorically used color words are collected and classified into two categories, i.e. achromatic and chromatic colors. Then, their universalities are determined by comparing them with English color metaphors. Finally the existence of specific Indonesian color metaphors are identified by correlating them with extra linguistic factors, such as environment, history, religion, politic and other socio cultural activities. A careful analysis on the data shows that there is nearly no significant difference in metaphorical uses of achromatic colors in English and Indonesian. However, despite universal nuances of chromatic color metaphors, some specific ones emerge due to various external factors, such as environment, education, history, politic, law, religion, literature, and other socio cultural facts that are specifically found and practiced in Indonesia.

In order to print chromatic color and pattern on the surface of food, medicine and edible materials, and also print on the package of food, medicine and some other produces, the new ink with chromatic color, environmental nontoxic and edible is needed. In this paper, based on the principle of traditional ink, a kind of edible ink is prepared through reasonable materials selection and a larger number of experiments, and studied on its relevant performances. The conclusion indicates that the edible ink has good trait in mobility, thixotropism, color rendering and printability, and can be used as a reference in the future research.
