One of the major problems in production is that the number of faults occurred while producing a fabric, since it directly influences productivity. To overcome the losses, this paper provides a system with special surveillance to detect the knitting process, identify and locate faults during manufacturing, by inspecting the fabric. The system also gives the user a valuable set of data related with production. This examination has demonstrated that picture handling can possibly give solid estimations to recognizing abandons in sewed textures. On-line texture deformity location was tried consequently by contrasting texture pictures caught by a computerized camera. In this way, it is demonstrated that the created picture catching and investigation framework is equipped for halting the round sewing machine by utilizing processor when a deformity is caught by the web camera.

The procedure for finding connotations includes trick effects, poses, objects, photogenia (light, tone, shadow, shape, line, texture, perspective, and space). The purpose of this study is to explain the meaning implied in a portrait of a Javanese woman by taking into account the photogenia and connotator aspects contained in the photo to guide the meaning of her photographic work

Using multi-template processing algorithm, the fingerprint features are accurately collected. Through normalization, make the black and white point contrast of the fingerprint image more obviously, strengthen the ridge line texture. Direction calculating algorithm is based on the grey value of the neighborhood pixels. It can be implemented simply and speedily. Through direction filter, noises can be removed, and the contrast of the fingerprint’s ridge lines and valley lines can be enhanced. After binary converting, all information of the fingerprint is stored with 0 and 1. The effect of thinning is to make the fingerprint image more distinct to extract the fingerprint feature point easily. These steps had been implemented on Altera DE2 board with HDL codes. The experimental results indicate that the multi-template algorithm of fingerprint image processing is correct and practicable.

We have demonstrated that polystyrene (PS) nanofibers having an ordered surface line texture can be produced on a large scale from a PS solution of acetone and N,N′-dimethylformamide (2/1, vol/vol) by a needleless electrospinning technique using a disc as fiber generator. The formation of the unusual surface feature was investigated and attributed to the voids formed on the surface of jets due to the fast evaporation of acetone at the early stage of electrospinning, and subsequent elongation and solidification turning the voids into ordered lines on fiber surface. In comparison with the nanofibers electrospun by a conventional needle electrospinning using the same solution, the disc electrospun fibers were finer with similar diameter distribution. The fiber production rate for the disc electrospinning was 62 times higher than that of the conventional electrospinning. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction measurements indicated that the PS nanofibers produced from the two electrospinning techniques showed no significant difference in chemical component, albeit slightly higher crystallinity in the disc spun nanofibers.

The optical and electrical properties of LEDs scribed using both traditional and advanced laser scribing were investigated. Variations in scribe line texture and depth were examined and monitored for both laser types using both optical and electron microscopy. Simulation was conducted and verified by the experimental results on laser scribing depth versus LED light output. The metrology techniques also correlated the sidewall roughness with light output of LED between traditional and advanced laser scribing. Improvements by the advanced laser scribing were demonstrated for different LED designs, such as DBR with metal mirrors. Our study showed that the advanced laser scribing is comparable to the sidewall etching process which is the current industrial standard. Our advanced laser scribing system can process different types of metal mirrors on top of DBR structures in a single tool solution. We also presented our latest results on the emerging new substrates of vertical LEDs on Si and other advanced non-sapphire substrates.
