The Internet is one of the most prominent discoveries in the world today. The move of most businesses and establishment to the online platform has been witnessed increasingly. Education is not left out of this development and the government of Saudi Arabia has been reported in several studies to have dedicated to providing the citizens with the best educational option. Studies have also shown that Saudi Arabia has embraced majorly the on-ground method of education given that most students are not intrigued by the idea of online education even though they find it preferable. Several studies have however been carried out on the perception of students of distance education. This 2020 study brings to light the perception of teachers in schools in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia by obtaining a group data. The study showed that teachers positively perceive the method of education but do not have enough resources and training to properly handle teaching through the method. The government is thereby pleaded with to help improve the accessibility of students and training of staff in necessary basics concerning the method of education.

This article proposes a new aesthetic pattern-three petal flower patch antenna that operates at Ultra Wide Band (UWB) for Wireless Body Area Network (WBAN) applications. The flower structure consists of three petals and a center circle patch with the partial ground plane at the bottom. A double-sided copper-coated conductive fabric, which is 0.08 mm thick, having a surface resistivity of 0.05 Ω/square, serves as the antenna patch and ground material. This conductive patch is placed in a denim jeans material with 1mm thick that forms the substrate. The utilization of a two-layer substrate and partial ground method enhances the impedance bandwidth of the antenna. The size of the antenna is 60 mm × 60 mm × 2.16 mm. The reflection coefficient, gain, efficiency, radiation pattern, and effects of bending were the various parameters analyzed for the flower antenna. The antenna radiates from 3 to 12 GHz, which covers the entire UWB frequency range from 3.1 to 10.6 GHz assigned by Federal Communications Commission (FCC). The measurement results validate the performance of a flower patch antenna.

The article is primarily aimed at considering the essence and significance of innovative methods of teaching economic disciplines in higher education institutions, their use in professional activities with students during educational work. The article considers innovative methods of learning in the teaching of economic disciplines used in the system of modern educational process in higher education institutions of Ukraine. The peculiarities of forms and methods of innovative learning are defined, the specifics of their use during classes with students in economic disciplines are covered. The author specifies application of such methods, forms and methods of educational work as: audiovisual method of training; analysis of errors, collisions, incidents; discussion with the invitation of specialists; brainstorming; «decision tree»; business (role-playing) game (students try the role of a teacher in economics, an accountant, auditor, a broker, manager, etc.); «take a position»; Socratic dialogue; interview method; public speaking; commenting, evaluating (or self-evaluating) of the participants’ actions; training ground; method of analysis and diagnosis of the situation; method of cooperative learning; problematic methods; partially search methods; research methods; method of projects; modeling; trainings; the program-role method of generating ideas; work in small groups; «competence» game; simulation games; PRES formula, etc. The essence of the case method, its principles, structure, features, influence on the formation of qualitative characteristics of the future specialist in economics is covered. It is emphasized the use of new technologies in learning, such as multimedia, computers, etc. and the combination of innovative methods with classical, traditional ones.

No copper, no Industrial Revolution. Although accountants listed it in the very last position in the table of “value added” per sector in 1831, the British copper industry was essential for the Industrial Revolution, the period of British hegemony over the world-economy. In this article, I use the figure-ground method proposed by Terence K. Hopkins to show that the copper industry played key roles in the ecological regime of the 1700-1840 period, due to its material properties and related historical contingencies and cultural valuations. By focusing in on particular production processes, historical contingencies, and cultural phenomena in which copper played an important and unique role, and then zooming out again to the world-economy as a whole, I show that an Industrial Revolution would not have happened without copper. From sugar production in the Caribbean to textile printing, from the slave trade to the Battle of Saintes, from the development of the steam engine to gin and rum production, from the telegraph to buckles and buttons, copper was conspicuous. This demonstrates the ecological regime of the period, in which the removal of a single commodity from the picture—i.e., copper—disrupts the whole constellation of relations. This study also shows that a “copper boom” immediately before and at the start of the Industrial Revolution (~1700-1800), instrumental in the British struggle against France for the hegemony over the world-economy, has been overlooked in the literature. Additionally, the article includes a reflection on method.

Artificial freezing ground method has been widely used in tunnels, metro and other projects, in the connecting passage in metro, the artificial frozen soil wall, which is formed by artificial freezing method, is often used as temporary support. The artificial frozen soil wall is in the joint action of pressure and bending moment, for it takes the upper pressure and lateral earth pressure at same time, so there may be tensile stress in the profile, which may cause brittle failure. At present, some scholars have carried out researches on the tensile strength with different test methods, but they are insufficiency and have a certain difference in stress state between the specimen and the actual support structure. A bending test instrument was designed and manufacture, which satisfies the code’s requirements, and reduces the error caused by poor contact between the specimen and loading device. Bending test on artificially frozen soils was launched using this instrument, and the test on influence law of moisture content and freezing temperature on artificially frozen soils’ strength was also launched. The conclusions can provide a reference for design and construction.

This study was conducted to identify learning requirements, objective condition, and learning design of academic writing based on Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) approach which took in Language and Arts Faculty in Jakarta State University. It used qualitative, quantitative approach and ground method with the procedure includes conducting initial research (pre-development), designing academic writing learning design, examining and revising the result of academic writing learning design and effectiveness examination. The result showed that the requirements of academic writing learning indicate a gap between student’s requirement and learning situation. Afterward, the researcher also conducted the second research to resolve the condition. The second research was learning tools development in the form of semester lecture program plan, unit learning plan and teaching material description. After conducting the effectiveness examination, it was proven that academic writing learning based in HOTS is effective. Thus, the result of this study was recommended for academic writing process in university.
