Myfanwy-Cerys Williams is a Science Centre Explainer, currently working at Centre of the Cell, a science education centre based at Queen Mary University of London. Myfi graduated from Queen Mary University of London in 2016 with a Biomedical Sciences degree. She juggled studying and working as an Explainer at the Science Museum until graduation, and then took on a full-time role at the Science Museum. She returned to Queen Mary in 2018 to work at Centre of the Cell. Lorenza Giannella (Training Manager, Biochemical Society) spoke with her about her work.

Alexis De Haven Brandon is a Higher Scientific Officer for the Institute of Cancer Research. She specialises in in vivo research for drug discovery projects in oncology. Having completed a degree in Animal Science, she initially worked with research cattle in the veterinary medicine field. Moving to working with rodents in the oncology field 16 years ago, she obtained a Master's Degree in Cancer Biology through day release from her employment. David Smith is a Reader in Biochemistry at Sheffield Hallam University and a National Teaching Fellow. He is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and has received the Sheffield Hallam Vice Chancellor's Award for Inspirational Teaching, as well as the Royal Society of Biology Higher Education Bioscience Teacher of the Year Award 2019. David has been an active researcher in the field of biosciences for over 20 years, focusing on the molecular basis of neurodegeneration in diseases such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's. He completed a PhD at the University of Leeds, before working as a postdoctoral researcher first at the University of Melbourne and then at the University of Leeds. Lorenza Giannella (Training Manager, Biochemical Society) spoke with him about his work.


Hypnoparenting is an alternative model of parenting aiming directly to the subconsciousness which is the centre of emotion obstacles felt by parents. This research aimed to obtain concrete description of hypnoparenting training, started from the planning, implementation, evaluation, and participant assistance pattern after the training. This research applied qualitative descriptive method. The data were collected through observation, interview and documentation study to six respondents which were paricipant, committee, parents, and training manager. The result of this research showed that (1) the planning did not conduct fully as it has to. The planning was handled by resource person. (2) Resource person was the key role to the implementation of TANDUR (Tumbuhkan-Growing, Alami - Experiencing, Namai - Naming, Demonstrasikan - Demonstrating, Ulangi - Repeating, Rayakan – Celebrating) model. (3) Evaluation, this training was lack of content and context, and only a participants’ testimony. (4) The assistance after the training was good based on GROW (Goal, Reality, Option, and Will) pattern.

Dr Silvia Camporesi graduated with a BSc in Biotechnology and a MSc in Medical Biotechnology from the University of Bologna, Italy. She then went on to work as a scientist at the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology in Triest, Italy, investigating animal models of post-infarction. Dr Camporesi holds two PhDs: the first in Foundations of Life Sciences and Ethics (2010) and the second in Philosophy of Medicine (2013). She is now a tenured Senior Lecturer in the Department of Global Health & Social Medicine at King's College London, where she is also the Director of the MSc programme in Bioethics & Society. Allan Dunlop graduated with a BSc in Medical Biochemistry from the University of Glasgow, where he subsequently completed his PhD. He then worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the area of cAMP phosphodiesterases and cellular signalling and undertook training as a Clinical Scientist in the department of Biochemistry at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. Allan is currently employed as a Principal Clinical Scientist in the department of Clinical Biochemistry at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow. This research was conducted at the Division of Training Coorporate Forum For Comunity Development, Jakarta, which aim to identify CSR training management process. This research was conducted on April 2015 to January 2016. This research used qualitative approach with descriptive methode. Data was collected through interview, observation and documentation study. Data sources was gained from Managing Director, Training Manager, Managing Secretary, and several supported informants such as Training Manager Assistant, Training Instructor and CSR Training Participant.Planning of CSR training was conducted by analyzing training needs, arrange curriculum, materials, teaching materials, schedule and organizing recruitment of participants and instructor. While the implementation of training activities carried out through two stages including basic training dan advance training. Evaluation was held by asessing the organizers, training program, materials, instructor, facilities and training participants through four ways to measurereaction,learning, behavior and result.Training Division should be more active and cooperative while planning a training schedule, and give socialization and publication about the importance of CSR training baed on ISO 26000 as much as possibe, altering group discussion formation in order to give encouragement for passive participants to become more active, Reminding participants anymore about the importance of filling evaluation form, establishing cooperation with government and stakeholder to achieve prosperity of civil society by conducting CSR program based on ISO 26000
