The paper explores the influence of years of work experience, professional qualifications, additional music education, engaging in music activities in leisure time, and going to the theatre/classical music concerts on the attitudes of primary school teachers toward the school subject Music. The research was conducted on a sample of primary education teachers from all Croatian counties (N = 233), using a questionnaire composed of two parts: The General Data Questionnaire and Attitudes Toward Music as a School Subject. The results confirm that primary school teachers with fewer years of work experience have more positive attitudes toward the Curriculum of Music Education for Primary Schools and for Grammar Schools in the Republic of Croatia, while in other aspects of attitudes no difference was found. Furthermore, no differences were found in the attitudes of primary school teachers toward the subject Music with regard to their professional qualifications. Primary education teachers who have attended additional music classes, who engage in music activities in leisure time and who often attend theatre/classical music concerts, consider Music to be an important school subject that relaxes the students, and consider themselves more competent to teach music. The obtained results have significant implications in terms of music pedagogy, with regard to organizing the music education of preservice primary teachers and their lifelong learning.

The article discusses didactic violin literature by violinist and pedagogue Dušan Vodišek. Covering the period between 1966 and 2016, his oeuvre represents a bridge between didactic violin literature of the previous century and contemporary didactic violin literature. Over these 50 years, he significantly enriched didactic violin literature in Slovenia with his works, which include a violin book for beginners, children’s compositions for violin and piano, youth compositions for violin and piano, compositions for chamber ensemble and string orchestra, and two textbooks on position changing. These materials provide original solutions to challenges concerning individual elements of violin playing and the musical development of students. Therefore, they also represent an important contribution to the development of violin pedagogy and violin playing in Slovenia.

The purpose of this article is to review the studies that are related to the research of well-being in professional musicians and students of music who are on their way to starting their professional careers in music. Currently, there aren‘t many such studies available, but their number is growing rapidly. Psychological well-being is a topic that has become popular with professional musicians in the last ten years, while interest in this field of research has been growing. Based on the analysed scientific and research sources, we can conclude that the latter sources are based on different theoretical assumptions about well-being, as a uniform and generally accepted definition of well-being hasn‘t been adopted yet. So far, all studies have focused on a wide range of participants with diverse characteristics, in which identifying factors have been found that have an influence on whether the levels of one‘s well-being are low or high, as well as provide a base for planning an introduction to applying appropriate forms of intervention to raise one‘s level of well-being. One of the key aspects of moderating well-being is the relational aspect. Studies performed so far have made it clear that, in the future, we may expect an increase in the development of interest, as well as conducted research, in the field of well-being in musicians; moreover, we may expect the development of more clearly defined forms of intervention that would lead to increased levels of well-being in musicians, starting at the level of musical education and moving forward.

Namen naše raziskave je bil ugotoviti, kakšne so podobnosti priprave in izvedbe glasbenega nastopa v manjših skupinah v primerjavi s pripravo in izvedbo tekmovanja v ekipnih športih.

The paper examines the views of professionals in primary schools with a special education program in relation to folkloric activities and content. The research involved 240 professionals from all 28 Slovenian educational institutions implementing the program. Respondents rated their agreement on statements related to formal education and folklore activities, inclusion of folklore content and activities, attitudes towards folklore and classroom work, and use of folklore content for therapeutic purposes on a 5-point scale. The main findings relate to the fact that during institutional training, professionals did not acquire sufficient knowledge to teach folkloric content when working with students with special needs, suggesting that there are still many opportunities for progress in the integration of folkloric content and activities, with a focus on folk dances, folk songs, folk games and customs and habits, in institutions that implement the special education program of education. This is confirmed by the fact that the professionals have a very positive attitude towards folklore in general. The results can represent a starting point for future research, which would confirm the need for an interdisciplinary approach in different scientific fields (special and rehabilitation education, music didactics, folklore, ethnochoreology, music therapy, psychology and kinesiology).

The main purpose of the article is to present textbooks for guitar written by Slovenian authors and published between 1925 and 1950. With basic instructions for playing in Slovenian and mostly domestic musical examples they satisfied the needs of selftaught people for the basics of guitar technique and chordal accompaniment to singing. The first textbooks were entitled Kitarska šola (Guitar School), the basic problems of the guitar playing were treated comprehensively and as such did not envisage continuation. In addition to the basics of the guitar playing, they also included music theory, which was essential for self-taught people without prior musical knowledge, as this was the only way they could follow the practical instructions for playing according to the musical notation. With the reintroduction of guitar teaching into public music education, textbooks were created from the end of the 1960s, entitled Začetnica za kitaro (The Textbook for Beginners) with sequels, and followed the guidelines and development of public music education.
