A substantial amount of practice is required throughout an engineering programme to develop the psychomotor skill for a practice-oriented industry and fulfil the hands-on component of the accreditation requirements. This study aims to analyse the engineering students‟ psychomotor skill development based on psychomotor programme outcome (PO) attainment during their course of study and to determine the important suggestions on improvement in the learning and teaching processes in the programme based on the respondents‟ feedback. A quantitative research design was adopted using a questionnaire survey to record the students‟ opinions on skill development and PO attainment, classified under the psychomotor domain in an undergraduate civil engineering programme in Malaysia. Out of the 327 chosen students, who consisted of final year students enrolling in open ended laboratory (OEL) and final year project (FYP) courses, approximately 32% of them responded to the survey. It was agreed by most of the students that psychomotor skill assisted the development of their self-confidence and proficiency, which consisted of complex skill sets and movement. The students also agreed that they have attained the PO through usage of laboratory apparatus and data collection. As they agreed that their psychomotor PO attainment was influenced by the condition of the equipment in the laboratories, they proposed that the programme should increase the number of equipment and enhance the laboratory facilities by implementing new and up-to-date technologies relevant to the programme. It was shown from a direct PO measurement from the myCOPO system that the students attained the psychomotor skill required by the programme. This study contributes to the improvement in the engineering curriculum development and assists the Institute of Higher Learning (IHL) in fulfilling the requirements by the Board of Engineers Malaysia, which are related to psychomotor skill development. As it captures an important aspect of psychomotor skill acquired by civil engineering students, it would be a positive approach for IHL to apply a more practice-based learning curriculum to prepare them for future careers in design consultant office, contractor site operations, and other construction-related work environment.

The advancement of science and technology has improved system of learning and instruction; this has moved learning instruction to e-learning. Vocational and Technical Education as instrument for national development must join suit in this dynamic and evolving of instructional delivery, in order to achieve its purpose in the life of the people and the nation. The study examined the concept of VTE, emergence of e-learning, e-learning facilities, benefits of e-learning in Vocational and Technical education, challenges of e-learning application in VTE, strategies for improving e-learning application in VTE. In conclusion it was discovered that in spite of the relevance of e-learning in teaching and learning of VTE, teachers are not utilizing it, this is mainly due to the unavailability of facilities for e-learning and the inadequacy of the facilities where available, this is in addition to the fact that stakeholders are not providing enabling environment for it to thrive. It was recommended that government and stakeholders in education should provide facilities in e-learning, put policies in place to encourage the enforcement of e-learning in institutions, make internet connectivity priority in Universities, make adequate budgeting allocation for procurement and maintenance of facilities for e-learning among others.

The study evaluated the Farming Skills Acquisition Programme of Adamawa State Government, using a survey research design. The population of the study comprised of 50 trainers and 1,367 trainees. A systematic random sampling technique, using Taro Yamane formular was used to obtain a sample of 44 trainers and 309 trainees. The study collected data using a structured questionnaire, data collected was analysed using mean and standard deviation to answer the research questions while the z-Test was used to test the null hypotheses at 0.05 level of significance. The result revealed that facilities were available, adequate and functional at Farming Skills Acquisition Centers, time allocated for training and training duration were adequate, objectives of Farming Skills Acquisition Programme were being achieved and graduates of FSAP established and engaged in agricultural businesses. Z-Test analysis showed no significant difference between the mean responses of trainees and trainers on availability of facilities for the operation of FSAP, adequacy of training duration and graduates rate of establishing and engaging in agricultural businesses. However, the z-Test showed a significant difference between the mean responses of trainers and trainees on the extent of achievement of the objectives of FSAP. The study recommended that Government and non-governmental organizations should cooperate with the farming skills acquisition centres in the area of skill training and manpower development; farming skills acquisition programme should be adopted and implemented by other states in Nigeria to reduce the rate of unemployment and government should make nonfunctional FSACs to be functional through renovation and funding.

Normal aging process, acute illness, worsening chronic illness, and hospitalization can contribute to a decline in the ability of the older adults to perform task necessary to live independently. One of the best way to evaluate the health status of the elderly is through functional assessment which provides data that may indicate future decline allowing the nurse and their primary care giver to intervene appropriately. This study was conducted to assess the functional capacity of the elderly living at San Fabian, Echague, Isabela. The Descriptive-Inferential design was used. A total of 107 respondents with a mean age of 70.26, majority are female (52.3%), married (62.6%), and obtained college education 29.9% and 10.3% are graduate and undergraduate respectively. 43% receives pension. Respondents and significant others were interviewed using a 3-point Likert scale. On the level of functional capacity, researcher found out that the elderly are independent in performing BADL and need assistance in performing of IADL such as ability to use phone, shopping, performing heavy domestic works, laundry, taking medication in correct time and handling of finances. Age has a negative significant relationship with their ability to perform both the BADL and IADL and there is a difference between gender and source of income and their ability to perform IADL. The study also shows a significant relationship between the respondent’s marital status and their education with their ability to do IADL.

The decline of human capital and educationattainment in Nigeria, such as skill, values, qualifications and productivity capacity reflects in the rise in unemployment, poverty, robbery, kidnapping, ritual practices for quick money amongst others. These related social ills constitute a hydraheaded monster that plagues Nigerians today. This scenario is a serious source of concern and worry. The study assessed human capital development and education as a strategy for sustainable income among university undergraduates in Edo and Lagos states, Nigeria. The study determined the different types of human capital education that incorporates lifelong skills in the universities of Benin and Lagos, Nigeria, and the strategies for sustainable income among university undergraduates in Nigeria. The study was carried out in Universities of Benin and Lagos, Nigeria. The study was guided by three research questions and two hypotheses. Related literatures were reviewed. A sample of two hundred (241) respondents from Edo and Lagos state, were selected randomly. The data was analysed using mean, standard deviation and the independent test to test the null hypotheses at 0.05 level of significance. The result showed that there is no significant difference between Human capital traits posed by university of Benin and Lagos undergraduates that are taught lifelong skills courses and those that not taught. Also, teaching aligned with the needs in work place during industrial attachment. Base on the findings, among others, is that the Nigerian government should raise education fund for universities to equip their workshops for effective teaching. The study concluded that university education should include human capital development courses to enhance lifelong skills and productivity capacity in the work place.
