تهدف الدراسة لتحليل النموذج العامليِّ في رواية متاع ؛ لرصد تفاعلها مع مثل هذه التحليلات ؛ لتعيين القوى الفاعلة التي تسهم في نسج الأحداث. والإشكالية هي أنّ التحليل العاملي يعد دراسة شكلية للنصوص ،لا تتوغل رأسياً إلى عمق النص ؛ لهذا ضمَّنتُ البحث تحليلاً للعوامل الاجتماعية والنفسية مع توظيف الرمز ، سعياً وراء الربط بين الشكل والمضمون . والتَزَمَتْ الدراسة بالمنهج التحليلي الذي يقوم على رصد القوى الفاعلة في النص ، وتصنيفها إلى علاقات ثم تحليلها وفق النموذج العاملي قبل توظيف المعطيات الاجتماعية والنفسية ؛ للكشف عن الأبعاد المتوارية لشخصيات النص . أما عن إسهام البحث في حقل الدراسات الأدبية ، فقد سعيتُ في دراستي للربط بين البنية السطحية المتمثلة في دراسة النموذج العاملي، وبين البنية العميقة من خلال الربط بين المستوى الشكلي مع الحقول المعرفية مثل : علم الاجتماع ، وعلم النفس ؛ لتسير الدراسة وفقاً لذلك في خطين متقاطعين ، يمثل النص نقطة التقائهما . The study objective is to analyze the factor pattern in the novel of Effects, in order to monitor its reactions with such analysis, to define effective powers which contribute in forming events. The problem is that factor analysis after study of texts form, is not axially penetrated in the text depth, therefore I implemented analysis of social and psychological factors with utilization of symbol, to obtain shape and content. The study committed to analytical method which is based on monitoring of active powers in the text, and categorized into relations, then analyze it according to factor pattern before use of social and psychological of data, to disclose hidden ranges of text characters. As for contribution of the research in literary studies filed, I have aimed in my study to link between surface structure represented in study of factor pattern and deep structure through connecting form level with knowledge field such as: sociology, psychology, for leading the study accordingly in crossed lines, text resembles the junction thereof.

Hemoglobin is the specific protein of red blood cells. Those cells in which hemoglobin synthesis is initiated are the earliest cells that can presently be considered to be committed to erythropoiesis. In order to identify such early cells electron microscopically, we have made use of the peroxidatic activity of hemoglobin by reacting the marrow of erythropoietically stimulated guinea pigs with diaminobenzidine (DAB). The reaction product appeared as a diffuse and amorphous electron opacity throughout the cytoplasm of reactive cells. The detection of small density increases of such a diffuse nature required an analytical method more sensitive and reliable than the visual examination of micrographs. A procedure was therefore devised for the evaluation of micrographs (negatives) with a densitometer (Weston Photographic Analyzer).

Although sections of frozen salt solutions have been used as standards for x-ray microanalysis, such solutions are less useful when analysed in the bulk form. They are poor thermal and electrical conductors and severe phase separation occurs during the cooling process. Following a suggestion by Whitecross et al we have made up a series of salt solutions containing a small amount of graphite to improve the sample conductivity. In addition, we have incorporated a polymer to ensure the formation of microcrystalline ice and a consequent homogenity of salt dispersion within the frozen matrix. The mixtures have been used to standardize the analytical procedures applied to frozen hydrated bulk specimens based on the peak/background analytical method and to measure the absolute concentration of elements in developing roots.

SummaryStudy objective. To determine whether levels of thrombin-antithrombin III (TAT) in plasma, taken two weeks pre-operatively, predict the development of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) in patients undergoing major hip or knee surgery.Design. Prospective cohort.Setting. Tertiary-care referral centre, university-affiliated hospital.Patients. Ninety eight consecutive patients undergoing elective hip or knee surgery.Intervention. All eligible consenting patients were seen in a preoperative clinic two weeks prior to surgery and had blood taken for measurement of plasma TAT level. After surgery, they received a combination of unfractionated heparin 5000 Units 12-hourly subcutaneously, and antiembolism stockings (TEDS), as prophylaxis against DVT. Contrast venography was performed prior to discharge, and according to the results, patients were classified as having proximal (popliteal and/or more proximal) DVT (n = 12), calf DVT (n = 7) or no DVT (n = 79).Measurements and Results. The mean TAT level was significantly higher in patients who developed DVT (5.7 μg/l) than in those who did not (4.1 μg/l), p = 0.035. Using cut-points of 3.5 and 5.5 μg/l for the TAT level, patients could be categorized as high, intermediate, and low risk for the development of DVT. The proportion of patients with TAT levels of ≥3.5μg/l who developed calf or proximal DVT was significantly higher than the proportion of patients with TAT levels of <3.5 μg/l who developed calf or proximal DVT (p = 0.02). The proportion of patients with TAT levels >5.5 μg/l who developed proximal DVT was significantly higher than the proportion of patients with TAT levels of ≤5.5 μg/l who developed proximal DVT (p = 0.03).Conclusions. This study demonstrates that pre-operative TAT levels correlate with the risk of developing DVT after major orthopedic surgery. Further studies are needed to determine the reason(s) for this observation and whether rational recommendations about prophylaxis and screening for DVT can be made based on the results of a pre-operative TAT level.

SummaryBackground. Despite the availability of several diagnostic methods for the detection of deep-vein thrombosis (DVT), the identification of previous episodes of DVT remains a diagnostic challenge.Study objective. To assess the reliability of a combination of a standardized clinical score with three non-invasive tests: compression ultrasonography (CUS), Doppler ultrasound (DUS), and photoplethysmography (PPG), in determining the presence or the absence of previous proximal DVT.Methods. One hundred consecutive unselected outpatients were identified, who had undergone contrast venography six to nine years previously because of the clinical suspicion of DVT (confirmed in 43). They were blindly reinvestigated by a panel of trained operators unaware of venography results. They underwent a clinical evaluation of the lower limb, by applying a standardized score to five symptoms and six signs (grading each item from 0 to 3); a PPG test to determine the venous refilling time; a DUS test to determine the venous reflux separately in the common femoral and the popliteal vein; and a CUS test to determine vein compressibility in the same regions.Results. An abnormal CUS test and/or the demonstration of venous reflux in the popliteal region and/or a high clinical score (≥ 8) identified twenty-four of the 43 (56%) DVT + patients with a specificity of 89%. The combination of normal CUS with the absence of venous reflux in both the common femoral and popliteal vein and a low clinical score excluded previous thrombosis in 45 (79%) of the 57 DVT- patients (negative predictive value, 78%). Abnormal venous reflux in the isolated common femoral vein did not reliably predict the presence or absence of previous DVT. However, this occurred in only 13 (13%) patients. The PPG determination of venous refilling time did not improve the results obtained with the other tests.Conclusions. The combination of a standardized clinical evaluation with the results of CUS and DUS can reliably diagnose or exclude previous proximal-vein thrombosis in almost 90% of patients with previous episodes of suspected DVT.

This paper presented a novel analytical method for calculating magnetic field in the slotted air gap of spoke-type permanent-magnet machines using conformal mapping. Firstly, flux density without slots and complex relative air-gap permeance of slotted air gap are derived from conformal transformation separately. Secondly, they are combined in order to obtain normalized flux density taking account into the slots effect. The finite element (FE) results confirmed the validity of the analytical method for predicting magnetic field and back electromotive force (BEMF) in the slotted air gap of spoke-type permanent-magnet machines. In comparison with FE result, the analytical solution yields higher peak value of cogging torque.
