Teslim Abdal Ocağı hakkında ocak mensubu dede ailelerinin şahsî arşivlerinde bulunan h. 1206/1207 (m. 1791-1792), h. 20 Rebîülâhir 1207 (5 Aralık 1792), h. 24 Cemâziyelâhir 1232 (m. 11 Mayıs 1817), h. 20 Rebîülevvel 1258 (m. 1 Mayıs 1842) ve h. Rebîülâhir 1302 (m. Ocak/Şubat 1885) tarihli şecerenâme ve icâzetnâme türündeki beş ayrı belge bağlamında bir ocak kültü oluşumunun tarihî seyrini ele aldığımız ilk makalemizin devamı niteliğinde olan bu çalışmamızda, söz konusu ocak hakkında sözlü gelenekten saha çalışmaları merkezli elde ettiğimiz tespitlerin kapsamlı bir inceleme ve değerlendirmesine yer verilmiştir. Bu çerçevede, öncelikle ocak dede ve talipleriyle yapılan mülakatlar aracılığıyla Şeyh Ahmed Dede Ocağı’nın bir devamı ve kolu niteliğindeki Teslim Abdal Ocağı’nın, bir Alevi şairi ve inanç önderi vasıflarına sahip Teslim Abdal’ın şahsiyeti merkezli müstakil bir ocak kültü oluşturma süreci irdelenmiştir. Söz konusu mülakatlar; 2014 ile 2020 yılları arasını kapsayan farklı zaman dilimlerinde Malatya, Elazığ, Antalya ve İzmir illerine bağlı çeşitli yerleşim birimlerinde ikamet etmekte olan, Elazığ’ın Baskil ilçesinin Şıh Hasan (bugünkü adıyla Tabanbükü) köylü dede ve talipler ile yapılmıştır. Gerek dede ve talip topluluklarıyla yapılan mülakatlar gerekse Şıh Hasan köyünde gerçekleştirilen derlemeler aracılığıyla elde edilen bilgilerin ocak dedelerinin şahsî arşivlerinde bulunan belgelerle karşılaştırılması neticesinde, Teslim Abdal Ocağı’nın müstakil bir ocak olarak yapılanma süreci, ocak hiyerarşisi, dede ve talip topluluklarının yayıldığı coğrafî alan ortaya konulmaya çalışılmış ve ocağın güncel durumu ile ritüel merkezli devamlılığı hakkında tespit ve değerlendirmelere yer verilmiştir.

Rabbit airway tissue is a particularly rich source of cytochrome P-4504A protein, but very little information regarding the effect(s) of 20-hydroxyeicosatetraenoic acid (20-HETE) on bronchial tone is available. Our studies examined the response of rabbit bronchial rings to 20-HETE and the metabolism of arachidonic acid and 20-HETE from airway microsomes. 20-HETE (10−8 to 10−6 M) produced a concentration-dependent relaxation of bronchial rings precontracted with KCl or histamine but not with carbachol. Relaxation to 20-HETE was blocked by indomethacin or epithelium removal, consistent with the conversion of 20-HETE to a bronchial relaxant by epithelial cyclooxygenase. A cyclooxygenase product of 20-HETE also elicited relaxation of bronchial rings. [14C]arachidonic acid was converted by airway microsomes to products that comigrated with authentic 20-HETE (confirmed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry as 19- and 20-HETE) and to unidentified polar metabolites. [3H]20-HETE was metabolized to indomethacin-inhibitable products. These data suggest that 20-HETE is an endogenous product of rabbit airway tissue and may modulate airway resistance in a cyclooxygenase-dependent manner.

Pyranoanthocyanins are anthocyanin-derived pigments with higher stability to pH and storage. However, their slow formation and scarcity in nature hinder their industrial application. Pyranoanthocyanin formation can be accelerated by selecting anthocyanin substitutions, cofactor concentrations, and temperature. Limited information is available on the impacts of the chemical structure of the cofactor and anthocyanin; therefore, we evaluated their impacts on pyranoanthocyanin formation efficiency under conditions reported as favorable for the reaction. Different cofactors were evaluated including pyruvic acid, acetone, and hydroxycinnamic acids (p-coumaric, caffeic, ferulic, and sinapic acid) by incubating them with anthocyanins in a molar ratio of 1:30 (anthocyanin:cofactor), pH 3.1, and 45 °C. The impact of the anthocyanin aglycone was evaluated by incubating delphinidin, cyanidin, petunidin, or malvidin derivatives with the most efficient cofactor (caffeic acid) under identical conditions. Pigments were identified using UHPLC-PDA and tandem mass spectrometry, and pyranoanthocyanin formation was monitored for up to 72 h. Pyranoanthocyanin yields were the highest with caffeic acid (~17% at 72 h, p < 0.05). When comparing anthocyanins, malvidin-3-O-glycosides yielded twice as many pyranoanthocyanins after 24 h (~20%, p < 0.01) as cyanidin-3-O-glycosides. Petunidin- and delphinidin-3-O-glycosides yielded <2% pyranoanthocyanins. This study demonstrated the importance of anthocyanin and cofactor selection in pyranoanthocyanin production.

Textured Pt films with thickness h=20-80 nm were sputter deposited on oxidized c-Si (100) wafers and annealed in vacuum at 500°C/60 min. The thickness dependencies of the crystalline texture parameters and of the fraction of crystalline phase δ are obtained for as-deposited and annealed films using X-ray diffraction. The determination of δ in textured films is carried out by the new method based on rocking curve analysis. It is found that annealing leads to the texture improvement and to the increasing of δ for all h. The less h, the stronger effects of texture improvement and of δ increasing. These results are explained by the annealing-induced formation of large secondary grains whose volume fraction increases as h decreases. The inhomogeneity of the depth distributions of texture parameters and of δ are investigated for the as-deposited Pt films.

AbstractThe critical photoperiod for diapause induction in pupae of Mamestra configurata Walker in Manitoba was 16 h 06 min at Glenlea (49°38′ N), 16 h 20 min at Grandview (51°10′ N), and 16 h 42 min at Birch River (52°24′ N). The differences in cirtical photoperiods observed at Glenlea and Grandview were not significant. At least two different photoperiods exist, one in the Glenlea and Grandview areas and the other in the Birch River area. In the laboratory, the critical photoperiod was 13.5 h when larvae were exposed to a daily fluctuating temperature regime of 12 h at 25 °C and 12 h at 10 °C. Longer critical photoperiods found for the field populations may be related to the relatively low ambient temperatures to which the larvae were exposed in field cages.

A description is given of a technique that provides a relatively simple means by which O2 consumption and hemodynamic variables can be measured in exercising dogs. We used a multistage submaximal treadmill test to study the responses of 10 foxhounds to dynamic exercise. They were also studied during maximal treadmill exercise. O2 consumption increased from 16.3 +/- 1.7 ml O2 X min-1 X kg-1 at rest to 92.9 +/- 9.7 ml O2 X min-1 X kg-1 at a work load of 6.4 km/h, 20% grade and to 111.9 +/- 9.6 ml O2 X min-1 X kg-1 during maximal exercise. Cardiac output (CO) increased from 6.11 +/- 0.45 l/min at rest to 16.91 +/- 1.46 and 17.66 +/- 0.60 l/min at 6.4 km/h, 20% grade and maximal exercise, respectively. Arteriovenous O2 difference increased from 5.8 +/- 0.3 vol% at rest to 12.0 +/- 0.4 and 13.2 +/- 0.7 vol% at 6.4 km/h, 20% grade and maximal exercise, respectively. Heart rate (HR) increased from 116 +/- 7 beats/min at rest to 250 +/- 8 beats/min at 6.4 km/h, 20% grade and to 278 +/- 6 beats/min during maximal exercise. O2 uptake, CO, and arteriovenous O2 difference increased with the onset of exercise, appeared to level at lower work intensities (6.4 km/h, 4 and 8% grade), and increased significantly at each of the higher work intensities (6.4 km/h, 12, 16, and 20% grade). Additionally, we observed linear relationships between O2 consumption and HR (HR = 1.35 X VO2 + 120.5; r = 0.87; P less than 0.001) and between O2 consumption and CO (CO = 5.91 X VO2 + 216.6; r = 0.96; P less than 0.001). Further, the linear relationship between O2 consumption and CO demonstrated in the present study is similar to that observed in humans.

Phenology and states of dormancy of Utricularia vulgaris were studied using plants and turions collected at intervals throughout the growing season of 1977 from a shallow eutrophic pond in central Alberta located at 53°25′ N, 113°46′ W. States of dormancy and the effects of photoperiod and temperature were determined by the potential for sprouting and subsequent apical growth under long-day (18 h, 20 °C), short-day (12 h, 20 °C), and high-temperature (16 h, 30 °C) conditions, with and without varying periods of chilling at 2–3 °C. Physiological changes associated with different states of dormancy such as frost hardiness, starch content, and dark respiration were also investigated. Turions were formed 1 month after summer solstice and entered a state of innate dormancy during which only a high-temperature treatment at 30 °C would induce sprouting. Plants from innately dormant turions that were forced to sprout and were then cultured at 20 °C invariably reentered dormancy by the production of new turions. Turions collected in the late stages of innate dormancy could withstand −8 °C but not −12 °C. As temperatures dropped and ice cover became continuous, turions entered an imposed state of dormancy during which immediate sprouting and continued vegetative growth occurred under all conditions. Starch content reached a maximum of 49 mg g−1 fresh weight during early innate dormancy and declined steadily thereafter. Dark respiration in response to temperature of plants obtained from turions collected during innate and imposed dormancy states differed above 25 °C but was similar below.
