Abstract— Covid -19, a virus strain and a member of family with known member as Severe Acute Respiratory Disease (SARS) or Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS), but having a potentially lethal differences in not readily recognized by our immunity. Classified as betacoronavirus, with incubation period up to 14 days, the sign and symptoms can be highly variable, from asymptomatic to mild to criticalin the form of severe pneumonia. Almost half the persons infected did not show any symptoms, but in cases of people with comorbidities such as advanced age, pregnancy, obesity or other certain diseases, could increase the likelihood of morbidity and even potentially fatal. Covid-19 has spread globally, including Indonesia, with a potentially increased number of cases, prevention in covid-19 protocol is a necessity. Keywords: Covid-19, SARS, symptoms, variable, prevention Abstrak— Covid-19, yang sebelumnya dikenal sebagai virus strain dari kelompok family yang sama dengan Severe Acute Respiratory Disease (SARS) atau Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS), tapi memiliki fatalitas yang secara potensial lebih tinggi, karena bersiafat novel bagi sistem imunitas kita. Termasuk betacoronavirus, dengan masa inkubasi sampai dengan 14 hari, tanda dan gejala penyakit bisa sangat bervariasi, mulai dari asimtomatik, ringan sampai berat, dalam bentuk pneumonia berat. Hamper separuh penderita yang terinfeksi tidak menunjukkan gejala sama sekali, tapi pada penderita dengan komorbiditas seperti usia lanjut, kehamilan, obesitas atau penyakit kronis tertentu, resiko moribiditas dan mortalitas dapat meningkat. Covid-19 saat ini sudah menyebar ke seluruh dunia, termasuk Indonesia, dengan adanya potensi kenaikan kasus lebih banyak, pencegahan dalam bentuk protocol covid-19 bersifat mutlak diperlukan. A countrywide survey in Oman revealed Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV) nucleic acid in five of 76 dromedary camels. Camel-derived MERS-CoV sequences (3,754 nucleotides assembled from partial sequences of the open reading frame (ORF)1a, spike, and ORF4b genes) from Oman and Qatar were slightly different from each other, but closely related to human MERS-CoV sequences from the same geographical areas, suggesting local zoonotic transmission. High viral loads in nasal and conjunctival swabs suggest possible transmission by the respiratory route.

The article presents a literature review of scientific publications on the etiology, epidemiology, pathogenesis, clinical manifestations and treatment of a new corona virus infection COVID-19. The authors have carried out a comparative analysis of the infection caused by the virus SARS-CoV-2, with severe respiratory syndrome (ТОРС/SARS), caused by the virus SARS-CoV and Middle East respiratory syndrome caused by MERS-CoV. The authors described epidemiological and clinical peculiarities of COVID-19 associated with a high virus affinity to the molecule of agiotensin converting enzyme of the 2nd type in the human pulmonary tissue.

Background Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV) remains a major concern for global public health. Dromedaries are the source of human zoonotic infection. MERS-CoV is enzootic among dromedaries on the Arabian Peninsula, the Middle East and in Africa. Over 70% of infected dromedaries are found in Africa. However, all known zoonotic cases of MERS have occurred in the Arabian Peninsula with none being reported in Africa. Aim We aimed to investigate serological evidence of MERS-CoV infection in humans living in camel-herding areas in Morocco to provide insights on whether zoonotic transmission is taking place. Methods We carried out a cross sectional seroprevalence study from November 2017 through January 2018. We adapted a generic World Health Organization MERS-CoV questionnaire and protocol to assess demographic and risk factors of infection among a presumed high-risk population. ELISA, MERS-CoV spike pseudoparticle neutralisation tests (ppNT) and plaque neutralisation tests (PRNT) were used to assess MERS-CoV seropositivity. Results Serum samples were collected from camel slaughterhouse workers (n = 137), camel herders (n = 156) and individuals of the general population without occupational contact with camels but living in camel herding areas (n = 186). MERS-CoV neutralising antibodies with ≥ 90% reduction of plaque numbers were detected in two (1.5%) slaughterhouse workers, none of the camel herders and one individual from the general population (0.5%). Conclusions This study provides evidence of zoonotic transmission of MERS-CoV in Morocco in people who have direct or indirect exposure to dromedary camels.

ZusammenfassungErkrankungen der Atemwege gehören zu den häufigsten Gesundheitsproblemen von Kindern und treten regelhaft auch während und nach Reisen auf. Virale Atemwegsinfektionen können die Reisefähigkeit von Kindern – und damit auch ihren Angehörigen – ungünstig beeinflussen, beispielsweise durch Fieber, bronchiale Obstruktion und Schwierigkeiten beim Druckausgleich während des Fliegens durch Schwellungen und Sekretionen der Schleimhäute und der eustachi‘schen Röhre. Zu den reisemedizinisch relevanten aerogen übertragenen Krankheiten zählen neben banalen, viralen Erkältungen auch potenziell schwer verlaufende Viruserkrankungen, allen voran die saisonale Influenza und die Masern, sowie bakterielle Infektionen durch Meningokokken und die Tuberkulose. Gegen einige dieser Erkrankungen stehen effektive Impfstoffe zur Verfügung. Auch seltene, schwer verlaufende Atemwegsinfektionen, die unter bestimmten epidemiologischen Umständen außerhalb Europas erworben werden können, sollen im Folgenden exemplarisch an den Erkrankungen Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS) und der Histoplasmose dargestellt werden.
