Head control is important for snake robots to work in an unknown environment. However, the existing methods of head control have certain application limitations for snake robots with different configurations. Thus, a strategy for head control based on segmented kinematics is proposed. Compared with the existing head control strategies, our strategy can adapt to different structures of snake robots, whether wheeled or non-wheeled. In addition, our strategy can realize the accurate manipulation of the snake robot head. The robot body is divided into the base part, neck part and head part. First, parameters of backbone curve are optimized for enlarging the area of the support polygon. Then the desired pose for the head link and the dexterous workspace of the head part can in turn derive the desired position and direction of the end frame for the neck part. An optimization algorithm is proposed to help the end frame of the neck part approach a desired one and obtains the joint angles of the neck part. When the actual frames of the neck part are determined, the dexterous workspace of the head part will cover the desired pose of the head link. Then the TRAC-IK inverse kinematics algorithm is adopted to solve the joint angles of the head part. To avoid the collision between the body and the ground, a trajectory planning method of the overall body in Cartesian space is proposed. Finally, simulations validate the effectiveness of the control strategy.

Testes of two species of cockroaches have been examined histologically and histochemically. Groups of secretory cells have been found in the neck part of each testicular tube. The substance secreted by these cells is of a lipoprotein nature. Droplets of other secretory material are found among the developing gametes during spermatogenesis as the product of the tubule and they are either mucoprotein or mucopolysaccharide. The significance of the secretory materials has been discussed and a comparison of the neck cells with similar structures in other insects has been made.

The aim of the study was to investigate the microbiota in the cervical part of the teeth in the gingival margin of the oral cavity of rats at the end of the second, fourth and sixth weeks of the experimental action of the opioid analgesic nalbuphine. Under the action of opioids for six weeks, changes in the microbiocenosis in the studied subbiotope of the oral cavity of animals were found, which manifested themselves in the early stages by the appearance of gram-negative anaerobes, gradual increase in opportunistic pathogens, formation of dental biofilm experiment.

To investigate the differences of anatomical structure of neck tissue between bent-neck and strong-neck flowers, scanning electron microscopy of neck tissue during senescence of cut rose flowers held in deionized water or preservative solution (3% sucrose + 200 ppm HQS + 0.1 mM ethionine) was observed. Lignins in xylem, phloem, and interfascicular cambium of neck were stained to red by phloroglucine. More lignin was formed in the phloem of neck in rose flowers held in preservative solution than deionized water. Neck strength of cut rose could be increased by increase of lignin content, and this would prevent bent-neck and extend vase life. Parenchyma cells in neck part of rose flowers held in deionized water had thinner cell wall and less starch grains at senescence than those of flowers held in preservative solution at day 7. These starch grains would be used as energy source of rose flowers and extend vase life. Globular crystals were observed in the inner part of cells and had shape of large thorny. These crystals were cumulated in cell walls, then would prevent the activity of cell wall decomposition or increase cell wall permeability.

In the study, it was aimed to reveal the morphological, morphometric and histological characteristics of sinus interdigitalis found in the fore and hind feet of Konya merino sheep. For this purpose, the fore and hind feet of 10 Konya merino sheep, weighing between 44-79 kg, were used. Sinus interdigitalis were dissected out from the feet, and after morphometric measurements were made, morphological examinations were performed and photographed. The shape of the sinus interdigitalis, present in all the forefeet and hind feet, resembled a pipe consisting of neck and body. It was determined that the neck part was longer than the body at all feet. The inner surface of the gland was covered with hair, and there was more hair on the neck than on the body. The weight of the gland, body length and diameter, flexura, canal length and diameter were measured morphometrically. In the measurements made, it was determined that all the values of the forefeet were higher than the hind feet. In histological examination, it was found that the wall of the sinus interdigitalis consists of three layers: epidermis, dermis and fibrous capsule, and in the dermis, hair follicles, sebaceous glands, m. arrector pili and sweat glands were found.
