The Ecological Footprint (EFP) is a useful indicator for assessing the progress of environmental performance and offers a solid basis for sustainability studies. In this paper, we contribute to the broadening of its possibilities of investigation by measuring the cross-country links in the EFP in global hectares per capita. The modeling framework is based on the dynamic factor analysis to estimate, in the parametric form, an index that provides information about the short-run dynamics of the EFP in the EU. Following this approach, we identify different patterns in the EFP behavior of the European countries during the period of 1962–2017. The results show stronger links across the EFP of the main European countries: France, Austria, Belgium, Germany, Denmark and the U.K. The proposed analysis gives a better understanding of the links behind environmental degradation in the EU and is applicable for the implementation and design of environmental policies.

The structure of the physical fitness of students engaged in golf has been studied on the basis of long-term observations. Methods of variance, correlation, and factor analysis were used to process the results of physical fitness tests of 242 male students. The structure and typical features of the physical development of students in the course of golf classes were formulated

Statement of the problem. The use of physical fitness simulation among athletes is much less common than the improvement of individual techniques, means and other “tools” of coaches. However, with the help of simulation, specialists in the field of high-performance sports can more effectively realize a training plan and use it, adapting it to specific athletes with their body characteristics as much as possible. Therefore, the purpose of the article is to develop model characteristics of speed abilities among sprinter swimmers specializing in the 100-meter freestyle at the stage of their performance improvement. The methodology of our work is based on the analysis of scientific literature on the selected problem and testing of sprinter swimmers for development of model characteristics of their speed abilities. Research result. Using the methodology of V.M. Zatsiorsky, we developed a score scale of assessments, and its interpretation on the graph with visualization of test results of athletes. According to these charts, we can specify the “problems” and “advantages” in the physical fitness of sprinter swimmers. We also conducted a factor analysis, as a result of which we identified specific factors that affect the performance for this distance. Conclusion. Based on the results of this study, we have identified 4 factors and variables most influential for the result in the profile distance of swimmers. Using these data, the relationships among variables are established.

One of the most important tasks solved in physical education classes is preparing for life. An indispensable means of teaching vital motor skills and abilities are applied exercises that are taken from life and prepare for life. Such vital movements as climbing, climbing, running, jumping, overcoming obstacles, throwing, swimming and many other exercises also contribute to the development of the motor abilities of those involved. The aim of the research was to experimentally study the effect of cross-country classes on the physical fitness of high school students. Based on the conducted research it can be formulated that the use of cross-country training in the process of physical education of high school students contributes to the development of coordination, speed-strength abilities, as well as endurance.

Abstract. In recent years, an instrument, known as the International Fitness Scale, was developed in order to indirectly assess physical fitness. The aim of the present study was to analyze the psychometric properties of validity and reliability of the International Fitness Scale in a sample of Chilean adolescents. The sample selected for assessing the instrument’s validity was composed by 1,000 adolescents aged 12 to 18 (48.8% girls). With regard to reliability analysis, a sub-sample of 89 participants (37.8% girls) was employed. Internal consistency was assessed using Cronbach´s alpha. Exploratory factor analysis was carried out in order to measure the construct validity, while convergent validity was assessed applying the known groups method. Results showed that the scale is consistent and valid, presenting moderate reliability. The International Fitness Scale has been proved to be a valid and reliable tool for fitness assessment in Chilean adolescents. This instrument could help economizing equipment, time and personnel in the assessment of Physical Fitness in Chilean youth.

The purpose of this article is to provide a robust and consistent cross-country measurement of the smart-shopper self-concept. Drawing on existing single-country studies, our work extends research by validating a pioneer cross-country scale that measures the smart-shopping mechanism in a holistic manner. Survey data were collected from 1,233 shoppers from six different Western countries. Cross-country equivalence was assessed using multigroup confirmatory factor analysis using configural, metric, and factor variance invariance tests. The results indicate that the smart-shopper self-concept is a second-order construct comprising two dimensions: smartshopper-attributed behavior and smart-shopper feelings. Our findings also reveal that consumers in the different countries exhibit different degrees of smart-shopper self-concept and differ in their perceptions of the affective and behavioral responses generated during a smart purchase process. Marketing practitioners looking to target smart shoppers across multiple countries could build on the findings of this study to develop effective international segmentation and positioning strategies.
