The purpose of this study is to evaluate the impact of public expenditure cuts on employment and income to support policies for the development of the labor mar- ket. Impact evaluation is of interest for policy makers as well as researchers. This paper presents a method – that is based on a Computable General Equilibrium model – to analyse the impact of the public expenditure cuts policy on employment and income in industries and occupations in Vietnam using macro data, the Input output table, 2006, 2008 and the 2010 Vietnam Household Living Standard Survey.

An efficient distribution center (DC) is one that receives, stores, picks and packs products into new logistics units and then dispatches them to points of sale at the minimal operating cost. The picking and packing processes represent the highest operating cost of a DC, and both require a suitable space for their operation. An effective coordination between these zones prevents bottlenecks and has a direct impact on the DC’s operational results. In the existing literature, there are no studies that optimize the distribution of the picking and packing areas simultaneously while also reducing operating costs. This article proposes an integer nonlinear integer programming model that minimizes order preparation costs. It does so by predicting customer demand based on historical data and defining the ideal area for picking and packing activities. The model is validated through a real case study of seven clients and fifteen products. It achieves a [Formula: see text] reduction in operating costs when the optimal allocation of the picking and packing areas is made.

Abstract Politicians allocate public resources in ways that maximize political gains, and potentially at the cost of lower welfare. In this paper, we quantify these welfare costs in the context of Brazil’s federal legislature, which grants its members a budget to fund public projects within their states. Using data from the state of Roraima, we estimate a model of politicians’ allocation decisions and find that 26.8% of the public funds allocated by legislators are distorted relative to a social planner’s allocation. We then use the model to simulate three potential policy reforms to the electoral system: the adoption of approval voting, imposing a one-term limit, and redistricting. We find that a one-term limit and redistricting are both effective at reducing distortions. The one-term limit policy, however, increases corruption, which makes it a welfare-reducing policy.

Bank Mega telah tidak memenuhi kewajibannya terhadap nasabah sebagaimana diatur dalam Pasal 37 B ayat (1) Undang-Undang Nomor 10 Tahun 1998 tentang Perbankan yang menyebutkan bahwa setiap bank wajib menjamin dana masyarakat yang disimpan pada bank yang bersangkutan. In this article a fuzzy goal programming model is developed to solve multiobjective unbalanced transportation problems with fuzzy random parameters. In model formulation process the cost coefficients of the objectives are considered as fuzzy numbers and the supplies and demands are considered as fuzzy random variables with known fuzzy probability distribution from the view point of probabilistic as well as possibilistic uncertainties involved with the model. A fuzzy programming model is first constructed by applying chance constrained programming methodology in fuzzy environment. Then, the model is decomposed on the basis of the tolerance ranges of the fuzzy numbers associated with it. The individual optimal solution of each decomposed objectives is found in isolation to construct the membership goals of the objectives. Finally, priority based fuzzy goal programming technique is used to achieve the highest degree of each of the defined membership goals to the extent possible by minimizing the under deviational variables and thereby obtaining optimal allocation of products by using distance function in a cost minimizing decision making environment. An illustrative example is solved and compared with existing technique to explore the potentiality of the proposed methodology.

To alleviate the conflicts between the current flight traffic demand and the resource constraints of airspace, we need to improve the restrictions of flow allocation caused by the static air traffic flow allocation mode. The author analyzes the optimal allocation problem of dynamic adjusting flight flow and draws the conclusion that the problem should satisfy multiple targets, such as low flight delays, low flight cost and balancing the load of the route. Then consider a variety of limiting factors, such as the capacity of the route, flight planning, emergency situations, etc. Then establish multi-objective programming model of dynamic adjusting flight traffic. The objective function is determined by the flight cost, the flight delays and the value of the load balance. And the value of the load balance was first proposed according to the idea of least squares method. Then solve the model based on linear weighted technique. Finally the numerical result shows that the model can satisfy the multiple objectives and dynamic adjust the flight traffic optimally, that proves the rationality and validity of the model and the algorithm.

Much of the work done by faculty at both public and private universities has significant public dimensions: it is often paid for by public funds; it is often aimed at serving the public good; and it is often subject to public evaluation. To understand how the public dimensions of faculty work are valued, we analyzed review, promotion, and tenure documents from a representative sample of 129 universities in the US and Canada. Terms and concepts related to public and community are mentioned in a large portion of documents, but mostly in ways that relate to service, which is an undervalued aspect of academic careers. Moreover, the documents make significant mention of traditional research outputs and citation-based metrics: however, such outputs and metrics reward faculty work targeted to academics, and often disregard the public dimensions. Institutions that seek to embody their public mission could therefore work towards changing how faculty work is assessed and incentivized.

<p>Taking 31 provinces as the research object, this paper constructed the input-output efficiency evaluation index system of public sports service in China. The paper evaluated the input-output efficiency level and spatial-temporal pattern of public sports services using the methods of data envelopment analysis and exploratory spatial data analysis. The results show that: (1) The average comprehensive super-efficiency value of public sports service in 2016 was higher than that in 2008, and the provinces with the comprehensive super-efficiency value greater than 1 increased, but the difference between provinces in 2016 was more obvious. (2) Compared with 2008, the efficiency distribution of public sports service in 2016 is more balanced among the three regions, the difference between the eastern region and the central region is reduced. (3) The efficiency of public sports service has different spatial correlation in the geographical spatial distribution, and this correlation shows the reverse in the two measurements.</p>
