Of the major factors of production, land is considered the most important. Land is such a valuable resources that the desire to acquire it has been a cause of struggle among the people virtually in all hitherto existing human societies. Land acquisition is influenced by numerous factors in which all play relevant roles in understanding the dynamics of land and its utilization among the people in the society. In Africa, foreign land acquisition has become a topical issue because of the richness of the African land resources, and the scamper for these resources has been a source of concern for many observers. This chapter analyzes the factors inhibiting foreign land acquisition in a developing country like Nigeria and examines the challenges posed by such practices to the attainment of sustainable development.

Social business model (SBM) although presumed to be a saviour of businesses and the world in terms of reach, frequency and impact on society, is yet to be adopted by countries around the world including the developing countries, which potentially could enjoy the greatest benefits from adopting this business model. This study contributes to this end by testing the adoption intention of SBM by applying the theory of planned behaviour from a developing country perspective that happens to be the birthplace of SBM. Drawing on the data collected from the largest university of a developing country that houses over 40,000 students and the future business leaders, this paper presents the underlying psychological drivers behind adopting SBM. Findings show that SBM adoption intention is facilitated by attitude and subjective norms; however, constrained by perceived behavioural control, which contrasts the existing entrepreneurial intention-based findings. Explanations and implications of such findings are provided.

Abstract. Nowadays the most characteristic are intense and rapid globalization, European integration processes, international social and economic cooperation and, in addition, popularization of new ideas about democracy, professional honesty, social and environmental responsibility and governance in entrepreneurship. Taken together, these factors are complementary and can advance for sustainable development of Ukraine. In this context sustainable economic development is symbiosis of an effective commercial and social business. The achievement of the optimum balance between profit maximization of Ukrainians’ companies in a long run and meeting the population’s socio-economic needs, such as enhancement of the quality of life is now recognized as a major challenge for our country. This situation is particularly complicated by the case of permanent complex crises and unsuccessful reformation of national public government. The article is devoted to the analysis of considerable theoretical and practical significance of social business as a primary entrepreneurship by which sustainable economic development of Ukraine is achieved. Social business is essential to strengthen the social responsibility, social awareness and civil unity among the market participants. These issues have been outlined in this science paper by authors. Comparison, methods of abstraction, analysis and generalization, graphic and tabular modeling are the research methods which were used in the article. In this science paper the concept of “social business”, the main features, basic principles and functions of the social entrepreneurship and impacts of the social business sector on sustainable economic development of Ukraine are analyzed by authors. So, based on theoretical and methodological research, it was determined that sustainable development is our country’s strategic goal. In the meantime, social business development is one of the key vectors to achieve defined objective. Fighting corruption and enhancing tax compliance through digital public services represent key factors for increasing sustainable development in Romania. Tax regulations affect the level of tax compliance as a consequence of the fact that it produces additional costs. The discussion is based on the consideration of the costs generated by compliant behavior and we explain how such costs influence the entrepreneurs’ decision in the fiscal environment. Do entrepreneurs decide to comply or do they choose to take evasive initiatives? How does corruption influence the level of sustainable development? How does digitization influence the level of tax compliance? How do entrepreneurs decide to comply by using digital public services? Among the numerous tools developed to fight corruption, the use of communication technologies has recently been researched and there is still need for further research in the Romanian economic environment. We depart from the premise that no developing country is yet fully ready to embrace a comprehensive program of eGovernment and plead for a plan to increase sustainable development in Romania through digital public services, thus fighting corruption and enhancing tax compliance.
