BEBERAPA ASPEK BIOLOGI IKAN BERONANG (Siganus vermiculatus) DI PERAIRAN ARAKAN KECAMATAN TATAPAAN KABUPATEN MINAHASA SELATAN1 Suleiman Tuegeh2, Ferdinand F Tilaar3, Gaspar D Manu3 ABSTRACT One of the goals in the development of fisheries and marine biological resources is the formation of water conservation. Marine biological resources are considered to have significant economic value is rabbitfish. Availability of rabbitfish throughout Indonesia is still relatively large, this is possible because the Rabbitfish is a part of the coral reef ecosystem. The existence of rabbitfish (Siganus vermiculatus) in the waters of Arakan is a source of considerable revenue to help the fishermen in the village of Arakan. Market demand for these fish make the fishermen increasing the catch of rabbitfish in the waters of Arakan. As an initial action on the prevention of exploitation of this resource, one of the main things is the availability of biological information. This study is implemented with the aim to find out some biological aspects of Rabbitfish (Siganus vermiculatus), the L-W relationship, the pattern of growth, condition factor, gonad maturity index, gonado index and the sex ratio.

Kata Kunci: Makroalga, komunitas dan keanekaragam AbstractMacroalgae is one of the marine biological resources that are found in Indonesian waters. Macroalgae has great potential to develop, because it has an important role both in terms of ecological and economical. The study aimed to obtain information on the community structure of macroalgae in Mata village water, Kambowa districts, north buton district south east Sulawesi. The study was conducted in December 2014-January 2015. The method used in study is a sampling squares transect 1x1 m2 and other is 10 m distance and 100 m lenght. The observation was found that the number of macroalgae spesies consisted of 17 species consisting of chlorophyta class 7 species, phaeophyta class 3species dan rhodophyta class 7 species. The composition was dominated by chlorophyta class (39%), phaeophyta class (37%) and rhodophyta class (24%). Density of macroalgae with a value of 2.058 which is the category was based on the index of diversity, uniformity value amounted to 0.726 with a high category indexes based on uniformity while for dominance with value amounted to 0.198 and low dominance categorized based on the index of dominance. Key words: Macroalgae, comunity and biodiversity

Indonesia as an archipelagic country, geographically has a long coastline (lk 81,000 km) and a vast ocean (5.8 million km2) with a wealth of marine biological resources would require human resources to maintain and preserve it. Coastal children are the generation that will develop the marine biological resources. They need knowledge and insight into maritime that is channeled through education. The archipelago of Nusantara is present as a moving community to develop and raise children's competitiveness through education. Offers 3 peogram excellence namely, Inspirative Talk Show, Character Building Training (CBT), 3 B (Play, Read, Learn). Through qualitative descriptive research, the researchers see how Cakralawala Nusantara plays an important role in improving the competitiveness of coastal children of Pulau Untung Jawa, Kepulauan Seribu, DKI Jakarta. Based on research, more than 50% of early childhood, primary and junior high school children are motivated to achieve goals and develop their marine environment better, this is a form of generating their competitiveness.

The hierarchical system of landscape- and biome-based regionalization ranging from local to global scales is proposed for the Barents and Kara Seas region, based on principles of large marine ecosystems and ecoregions concept. Being a prerequisite for rational exploitation and protection of marine biological resources at different levels, developing of hierarchical regionalization system can be used for organizing the multi-level environmental monitoring of engineering macro-projects in the coastal zones of the Barents and Kara Seas – such as exploitation of Stockman gas field, and construction of Sabetta port complex.
