Aim of the study. An actual problem of the modern approach to the management of patients in the post-traumatic period with the aim of predicting, preventing and treating complications of post-traumatic pneumonia is the assessment of the dynamics of the cytokine profile in this period.Material and methods. Investigations were carried out at the time of hospitalization prior medical interventions. During the research the following methods were used: clinical, physical, instrumental, follow-up, radiation (MRI, CT, X-Ray), endoscopic, laboratory. Blood was taken from the peripheral vein on the first, third, fifth, seventh and ninth day of hospitalization to determine the interlikin profile. The definition of Proinflammatory cytokines: IL-1, IL-6 and IL-10 in the blood serum performed by ELISA on the immunofermental analyzer Abbott AXSYM using standard kits ProCon (“Protein contour”, St. Petersburg, Russia). Data were processed statistically using Student’s t-test.Results. Analysis of the results of determination of IL-1 in the serum of patients DK showed that in all stages of the disease, in addition to IV, the contents of this cytokine exceeded the control values in varying degrees of severity. While the levels of IL-1 in the serum of patients with the 1ststage of the disease was 4.0 times; stage 2–3.4 times; the third stage is 1.5 times higher than normal. And only in patients with very severe stage of pneumonia contents IL-1 did not differ from the norm. A similar picture was observed when determining the serum content of patients with a very severe stage of pneumonia, and only in contrast to the level of IL-1 in patients with a very severe stage of pneumonia, the IL-6 content remained significantly higher than normal. So, the content of IL-10 in patients with a very severe stage of pneumonia of stage I, II, III and IV of the disease averaged 330.7±24.5, respectively; 210.5±17.3; 123.4±15.3 and 98.5±12.7 pg/ml (in all cases p<0.05). CONCLUSION The results obtained in a comparative study of contents of proinflammatory cytokines (IL-1, IL-6 and TNF-a) in the blood serum showed that the determination of the spectrum of cytokines in peripheral blood, in our opinion, is the most perspective and can be a key marker for early detection of inflammation. Background: The role of p53 gene in the gastric cancer is still controversial. This study is aimed at determining the rate of the p53 gene codon 72 polymorphisms in gastric cancer patients and evaluating the relationship between these polymorphisms and endoscopic and histopathological features of gastric cancer. Patients and methods: Sixty eight patients with gastric cancer (cases) and one hundred and thirty six patients without gastric cancer (controls) were enrolled. p53 gene codon 72 polymorphisms were determined by PCR-RFLP technique with DNA extracted from samples of gastric tissue. Results: In the group of gastric cancer, Arginine/Argnine, Arginine/Proline and Proline/Proline genotypes were found in 29.4%, 42.7% and 27.9%, respectively. The differences of rates were not statistically significant between cases and controls (p > 0,05). In males, the Proline/Proline genotype was found in 38.1% in patients with gastric cancer and more frequent in patients without gastric cancer (15.7%, p = 0,01). An analysis of ROC curve showed that the cut-off was the age of 52 in the Proline/Proline genotype, but it was 65 years old in the Arginine/Proline genotype. The Proline/Proline genotype was found in 41.9% in Borrmann III/IV gastric cancer, this rate was higher than Borrmann I/II gastric cancer (16.2%, p = 0.037) and also higher than controls (18.4%, p = 0,01). The rate of Proline/Proline genotype was 41.7% in the diffuse gastric cancer, it was higher than in controls (p = 0,023). Conclusion: No significative difference of rate was found in genotypes between gastric cancer group and controls. However, there was the relationship between Proline/Proline genotype and gastric cancer in males, Borrmann types of gastric cancer, the diffuse gastric cancer. A polarographic study of the hydrolysis of [8-lysine]vasopressin and some hormonogens of the vasopressin series with the blood serum of women in the last week of pregnancy was studied. The dependence of hydrolysis on pH (pH optimum: 7.4-7.50, substrate concentration (Km 1.2 . 10-5M), pH stability and thermal stability were determined. The rate of hydrolysis of individual vasopressin analogues decreases in the order: [8-lysine]vasopressin > Nα-glycyl-prolyl[8-lysine]-vasopressin > Nα-leucyl-[8-lysine]vasopressin > Nα-alanyl-[8-lysine]vasopressin > Nα-phenyl alanyl-[8-lysine]vasopressin > Nα-diglycyl-[8-lysine]vasopressin > Nα-prolyl-[8-lysine]vasopressin > Nα-triglycyl-[8-lysine]vasopressin > Nα-sarcosyl-glycyl-[8-lysine]vasopressin. The degree of hydrolysis gradually increases to a multiple with the length of the pregnancy in consequence of the presence of oxytocine. However, vasopressin is also hydrolysed to a small extent with the enzymes from the blood sera of non-pregnant women. Under similar analytical conditions oxytocin was not hydrolysed with the sera of non-pregnant women and therefore oxytocin is a more suitable substrate than vasopressin for polarographic determination of serum oxytocinase.

Human epididymis protein 4 (HE4) is an ovarian cancer marker. Various cut-off values of the marker in blood are recommended, depending on the method used for its determination. An alternative biosensor for HE4 determination in blood plasma has been developed. It consists of rabbit polyclonal antibody against HE4, covalently attached to a gold chip via cysteamine linker. The biosensor is used with the non-fluidic array SPRi technique. The linear range of the analytical signal response was found to be 2–120 pM, and the biosensor can be used for the determination of the HE4 marker in the plasma of both healthy subjects and ovarian cancer patients after suitable dilution with a PBS buffer. Precision (6–10%) and recovery (101.8–103.5%) were found to be acceptable, and the LOD was equal to 2 pM. The biosensor was validated by the parallel determination of a series of plasma samples from ovarian cancer patients using the Elecsys HE4 test and the developed biosensor, with a good agreement of the results (a Pearson coefficient of 0.989). An example of the diagnostic application of the developed biosensor is given—the influence of ovarian tumor resection on the level of HE4 in blood serum.
