The University of North Texas Libraries’ Digital Collections are situated as a unified whole within their preservation infrastructure, with three separate user interfaces serving the content to different audiences. These separate interfaces are: The UNT Digital Library (DL), The Portal to Texas History, and The Gateway to Oklahoma History. Situated within each interface are collections, and hosted within these collections are digital objects. One collection, the UNT Scholarly Works Repository, specifically serves UNT’s research and creative contributions and functions as the Institutional repository (IR) for the University of North Texas. Because UNT Scholarly works is seated as a collection amongst other collections, users can access faculty research, not just out of an interest in research from specific faculty members, but also as it ties into the user’s broader understanding of a given topic. With flexible infrastructure and metadata schema that connect collections beneath the umbrella of the wider preservation infrastructure, the UNT DL employs full-text searching and interlinked metadata to strengthen and make visible the connections between objects in different collections. This paper examined how users navigated between other collections within the UNT IR, as well as within the UNT DL. Through this examination, we observed patterns between how users navigated between objects, understood which collections may have related to one another, examined why some unique items were used more than others, and viewed the average number of items used within a session.

Abstract : Institutional repository (IR) based on eprints is a repository library of  Institute of Technology Sepuluh Nopember Surabaya (ITS)  which was implemented in 2016 replacing Digilib (Digital Library). The quality repository parameters measured by the ranking position issued by the web of repositories rankings encourage this research. In determining IR performance and development strategies, SWOT analysis is used as a method to identify dominant factors both internally and externally. Respondents in this study were all service staff of the Digital Information and Library Technology (TIPD) section of the ITS Library totaling 6 people consisting of, 1 coordinator, 1 sub-coordinator, 1 technician, and 3 administrators. The results of respondents' assessment of the dominant internal factors in the IR obtained a total weight rating of 3.38, and a total score score of 1.8%. While the respondent's assessment of the dominant external factors in the IR was obtained by the total score of the opportunity rating of 3.15 and the total score of the threat rating of 2.18. Thus the position of the IR is in quadrant I, which is a very favorable situation where the IR has the opportunity and strength so that he can take advantage of the opportunities available. The right strategy to implement is a growth oriented strategy.

This article describes a digital library framework and toolkit called MyLibrary. At its heart, MyLibrary is designed to create relationships between information resources and people. To this end, MyLibrary is made up of essentially four parts: (1) information resources, (2) patrons, (3) librarians, and (4) a set of locally defined, institution-specific facet/term combinations interconnecting the first three. On another level, MyLibrary is a set of object-oriented Perl modules intended to read and write to a specifically shaped relational database. Used in conjunction with other computer applications and tools, MyLibrary provides a way to create and support digital library collections and services. Librarians and developers can use MyLibrary to create any number of digital library applications: full-text indexes to journal literature, a traditional library catalog complete with circulation, a database-driven website, an institutional repository, an image database, etc. The article describes each of these points in greater detail.

The Information has not become knowledge until it has a value for the users, that is the reason we need knowledge management (KM) as the contents in digital library and institutional repository. Knowledge management (KM) refers to the tools, technologies, practices and cognitive.  Knowledge management (KM) is a capability that manages an organization’s knowledge, systematic processes for acquiring, organizing, sustaining, applying, sharing and renewing both tacit and explicit knowledge to enhance organizational performance and create a value. Digital library and institutional repository is a managed knowledge as a collection in digital format for knowledge information sharing. The objective of this paper is to explain web-based digital library and web-based institutional repository as a knowledge management to assist sharing knowledge information for supporting information literacy. The web-based consists of contents full text information, user friendly searching, and services. This study used web-based of digital library and institutional repository data by searching on internet and it is qualitative descriptive. The judgment is based on whether the contents are fully texted or not fully texted. The fully texted indicates that the contents can support sharing knowledge or the other way around. It shows that the content of digital library and institutional repository for encouraging is to develop information literacy skill. It can be viewed from digital library and institutional repository as an alternative study e-learning that collaborates between teachers, librarians, and people who are capable in knowledge management for supporting information literacy. It can be concluded that digital library and institutional repository must have information literacy
