Introduction: School psychologists work to support the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional well-being of students in schools. Their roles have become increasingly diverse in recent years due to the implementation of Multi-tiered System of Supports (MTSS) frameworks in schools throughout the United States. Statement of the Problem: Despite a national shortage of school psychologists, psychology students are often unaware of the profession or may have an outdated understanding of the role of school psychologists. Psychology students may also be unfamiliar with the MTSS framework, which promotes research-based, data-driven, equitable, and culturally responsive practices through a systemic, ecological approach to service delivery in schools. Literature Review: We review the main components of a typical MTSS prevention and intervention framework and describe the various roles of school psychologists and other key stakeholders within this model. Teaching Implications: This review and supporting resources can be used to introduce the field of school psychology to students. Additionally, it can be used to generate discussions regarding the provision of evidence-based and equitable academic and psychological services to students in the school through an ecological model. Conclusion: This article will help students gain an understanding of school psychologists’ roles within a current MTSS educational service delivery model.

Abstract.The purpose of this study is to evaluate the possible relationship between the negotiating effectiveness, academic and Subjective Well-Being, in negotiation has been studied the relationship of experience with varying degrees of success, although the basic training course has is not relevant for explanation. Furthermore happiness is one of the goals of the most important life for humans and is supposed to be related to the degree of bargaining effectiveness by its relationship with Excite Intelligence, since people with Emotional high intelligence tend to have high bargaining power. The sample consists of 117 university students, men and women between 18 and 47. The instruments used were a questionnaire on negotiation (CEN-II) and BIS-HERNÁN Questionnaire. Otenidos The results of correlation analyzes do not indicate a relationship between Subjective Well-Being and Effectiveness Negotiator, but a higher Negotiator Effectiveness psychology students compared to students from the Faculties of Law and Science, was not related to the amount of year college career in negotiating varying effectiveness.Keywords: subjective well-being, negotiating effectively, education.Resumen.El objeto del presente trabajo consiste en evaluar la posible relación entre la eficacia negociadora, la formación académica y el Bienestar Subjetivo; En negociación se ha estudiado la relación de la experiencia con la mayor o menor eficacia, aunque la formación de base se ha supuesto que no es relevante para su explicación. Por otro lado la felicidad es uno de los objetivos de la vida más importantes por los seres humanos y se supone que se relaciona con la mayor o menor eficacia negociadora, por su relación con la Inteligencia Emocional, puesto que personas con alta Inteligencia Emocional tienden a tener alta capacidad de negociación. La muestra está compuesta de 117 estudiantes universitarios, hombres y mujeres entre los 18 y 47 años. Los instrumentos utilizados fueron un cuestionario sobre negociación (CEN-II) y el Cuestionario BIS-HERNÁN. Los resultados obtenidos de los análisis de correlación no indican una relación entre el Bienestar Subjetivo y la Eficacia Negociadora, pero sí una más alta Eficacia Negociadora de estudiantes de Psicología en comparación a estudiantes de las Facultades de Derecho y Ciencias, no siendo relevante la cantidad de años de estudio de la carrera en la mayor o menor eficacia negociadora.Palabras Clave: bienestar subjetivo, eficacia negociadora, formación académica.

Background:Depressive symptoms are one of the main reasons for seeking psychological help. Shorter interventions using briefly trained therapists could offer a solution to the ever-rising need for early and easily applicable psychological treatments.Aims:The current study examines the effectiveness of a four-session Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) based treatment for self-reported depressive symptoms administered by Masters level psychology students.Method:This paper reports the effectiveness of a brief intervention compared to a waiting list control (WLC) group. Participants were randomized into two groups: ACT (n= 28) and waiting list (n= 29). Long-term effects were examined using a 6-month follow-up.Results:The treatment group's level of depressive symptoms (Beck Depression Inventory) decreased by an average of 47%, compared to an average decrease of 4% in the WLC group. Changes in psychological well-being in the ACT group were better throughout, and treatment outcomes were maintained after 6 months. The posttreatment “between-group” and follow-up “with-in group” effect sizes (Cohen'sd) were large to medium for depressive symptoms and psychological flexibility.Conclusions:The results support the brief ACT-based intervention for sub-clinical depressive symptoms when treatment was conducted by briefly trained psychology students. It also contributes to the growing body of evidence on brief ACT-based treatments and inexperienced therapists.

University life is always colorful, filled with a plethora of memorable moments, both academic and non-academic. Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, however, first-year university students’ academic experiences might be slightly different from their expectations due to being fully conducted in online learning. The COVID-19 pandemic denied first year students the opportunity to join the face-to-face classes and become involved in university’s activities in the real setting. All activities were replaced with virtual setting and they could only contact their course mates and lecturers via social media platforms. This derailment of their expectation to experience real-life university settings may dampen their enthusiasm and impact their motivational and happiness levels. To explore the phenomenon, a study was conducted with 143 first-year psychology students to examine their self-reported motivational and happiness levels before and after seven-week of online classes. This study included 113 females (79%) and 30 males (21%) with a mean age of 20.68 (SD=1.88). Data collected revealed that students’ motivation and happiness levels declined significantly after their online classes. According to their extent of agreement with the single statement ‘Overall, I am happy with my university life’, 48 (33.60%) students agreed, 76 (53.10%) were neutral, and 19 (13.30%) indicated dissatisfaction. This study may assist the university and relevant authorities in understanding students’ perceptions of dealing with academic and life challenges through online classes amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, psychological strategies should be considered to enhance first-year students’ motivation and happiness levels when faced with online classes in their new first semester.

Sleep is crucial for college students’ well-being. Although recommended sleep duration is between 7-9 hours per day, many students do not sleep that much. Scholar demands are among the causes of observed sleep deprivation in youth. We explored the influence of having a school test on previous night sleep in first-year students and the association of sleep duration and test performance. We ran two surveys in freshman students of the Universidad de la República, Montevideo, Uruguay: 1) 97 students of the School of Sciences who took the test at the same time; and 2) 252 School of Psychology students who took the test in four successive shifts. More than 1/2 of the participants (survey #1) and almost 1/3 (survey #2) reported short regular sleep duration (< 7h). In both samples, the sleep duration of the night before the test was reduced with respect to regular nights (survey #1: 2.1 ± 0.2 h, p < 0.001; survey #2: between 1.7 ± 0.4 h and 3.6 ± 0.3 h, all p < 0.001), with more than 10% of the students who did not sleep at all. In survey 2, sleep duration increased in later shifts (F (3,248) = 4.6, p = 0.004). Using logarithmic regressions, we confirmed that sleep duration was positively related to test scores in both samples (survey #1: exp B = 1.05, p < 0.001; pseudo-R2 = 0.15; survey #2: exp B = 1.01, p < 0.001; pseudo-R2 = 0.05). Delaying test start time may prevent the reduction in sleep duration, which may also improve school performance. In addition, educational policies should include information for students about the impact of sleep on learning and of the consequences of reduced sleep duration.

The present study aims to analyze the relationships between burnout, empathy and the well-being of medical and psychology students, as well as the differences in these variables depending on their specialization. The study was attended by 270 students, 94 males (35%) and 176 females (65%), aged between 18 and 48 years, M = 20.84, SD =3.26. Regarding the specialization, 83 are enrolled at the Faculty of Dentistry Titu Maiorescu (31%), 73 are enrolled at the Faculty of General Medicine and Pharmacy Carol Davila (27%), and 114 are enrolled at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences, University of Bucharest (42%). Burnout was measured with the Academic Burnout Scale (Zhang, Shi, Yun, Li, Wang, He, & Miao, 2015), empathy was measured with the Jefferson Scale of Empathy, JSE (Hojat, Maxwell, Carroll, & Cass, 2016), and well-being was measured with The Satisfaction with Life Scale, SWLS (Diener, Emmons, Larsen, & Griffin, 1985). The results showed that medical students have higher levels of burnout than psychology students and lower levels of empathy and well-being. Empathy also moderates the relationship between burnout and well- being. These results can be used to develop intervention programs to reduce burnout and increase students' empathy in order to increase well-being.

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected many lives and has a considerable social and economic impact. In response to this crisis, governments have implemented a series of protection measures: lockdown, social distancing, wearing a mask etc. Studies and statistics on the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic indicate low levels of mental and physical well-being, depression, fear of uncertainty, increasing inequality due to job loss, increased stress due to financial matters, social isolation etc. The current study has two main objectives: to explore Psychology students’ perceptions on changes in their quality of life, by comparing two periods of time: before and during COVID-19 pandemic and to identify differences in students’ perceptions on changes in their quality of life, according to their COVID-19 disease status. We designed a questionnaire including different aspects of quality of life, based on WHO Quality of Life - Bref (WHOQOL- BREF) (2004). Results have indicated that the main changes are related to opportunities for leisure activities, ability to concentrate, ability to perform daily living activities, mobility, capacity for work, feeling safe, and having enough money.
