The purpose of this study is to analyze the impact of Foreign Direct Investment, Gross Domestic Product, Energy Consumption, Electric Consumption, and Meat Consumption on CO2 emissions of 41 countries in the world using panel data from 1999 to 2013. After analyzing 41 countries in the world data, furthermore 17 countries in Asia was analyzed with the same period. This study utilized quantitative approach with Ordinary Least Square (OLS) regression method. The results of 41 countries in the world data indicates that Foreign Direct Investment, Gross Domestic Product, Energy Consumption, and Meat Consumption significantlyaffect Environmental Qualities which measured by CO2 emissions. Whilst the results of 17 countries in Asia data implies that Foreign Direct Investment, Energy Consumption, and Electric Consumption significantlyaffect Environmental Qualities. However, Gross Domestic Product and Meat Consumption does not affect Environmental Qualities.

China is currently the major foreign direct investment (FDI) destination arising from her open door policies since 1978. FDI has become a large impetus to China’s economic growth. However, the geographical distribution of FDI in China is severely biased with 83% concentrated in the eastern region. This is a result of not only differences in locational advantages but also the result of the initiating policies and temporal differences of FDI inflows among the regions. This study aims to examine the determinants of FDI and examine empirically the possible coherent policies for the three regions of China (Eastern, Central and Western) using the spatial panel analysis for the data within the period of 1994 to 2008. The empirical results show that the determinants of FDI vary among the three regions, depending on the motives of the investor and the results of policy bias. The entrepreneurial nature of competition of FDI among the provinces revealed by the spatial FDI factor is a conclusion that cannot be ignored. A more coherent policy on FDI inflows into China is an urgent necessity, though the policies for each region must be, of necessity, different for each of the three regions.   Keywords: Foreign Direct Investment, China, Spatial panel model, spatial variables JEL: F14, C33

Our goal in this paper is the study of the impact of FDI on poverty and sustainable development in the case of Tunisia and during the study period from 1985 to 2015. In addition, we use the test unit root of cointegration test, the model error correction of FMOLS and Granger causality. In the case of Tunisia, we find that all variables are integrated of order 1. Thus, we can use the cointegration test. Indeed, the result of the null hypothesis test of no cointegration was rejected at the 5% threshold, which explains the presence of a cointegration relationship between FDI, sustainable development and poverty. Finally, we present and interpreted the results of the estimated FMOLS model and Granger causality test to study the contribution of FDI to the poverty reduction and sustainable development in Tunisia. We find that the LIDE variable measuring foreign direct investment has a significant negative impact on the GINI index. We notice the LCO2 variable that measures the CO2 emissions has a negative and significant impact on poverty as measured by the poverty gap at $ 1.91. We prove that direct foreign investments have a significant negative impact on CO2 emissions. We used the Bootstrap ARDL method to test the relationship between the export trades, FDI and CO2 emissions of the BRICS countries. We found that China's foreign direct investment and the lag one period of CO2 emissions have a cointegration on exports. South Africa's foreign direct investment and CO2 emissions have a cointegration relationship with the lag one period of exports, and South Africa's the lag one period of exports and foreign direct investment have a cointegration relationship with the lag one period of CO2 emissions. But whether it is China or South Africa, these three variables have no causal relationship in the long-term. Among the variables of other BRICS countries, Russia is the only country showed degenerate case #1 in McNown et al. mentioned in their paper. When we examined short-term causality, we found that CO2 emissions and export trade showed a reverse causal relationship, while FDI and carbon emissions were not so obvious. Export trade has a positive causal relationship with FDI. Those variables are different from different situations and different countries.

This research analyses the decision of foreign direct investment (FDI) followed by business groups, identifies two forms: acquisition and minority purchase of foreign company shares. Analyses how it affects the performance of such groups. Also includes the concentration of property since it forms part of corporate governance. In order to achieve this, a data panel analysis with information of 39 business groups and a total of 3,443 subsidiaries and that have also made FDI in a period ranging from 2012 to 2015. The findings were that the minority purchase of shares achieves a positive relationship with performance and clearly shows that the company's concentrated ownership has a negative relation to performance.
