The presented work reveals the strength properties of M70 grade high performance basalt fibre reinforced concrete (BFRCC) containing 0.2%, 0.3% and 0.4% basalt fibre content by volume of concrete. 10% Silica fume is admixed for attaining higher strengths as preferred. Compressive, split-tensile and flexural strengths are evaluated. The BFRCC microstructure is found to be improved due to enrichment of interfacial transition zone with chopped basalt fibres. It was found that different fibre lengths require different dosages to yield maximum effect on the properties of concrete. Stress- strain responses of M70 grade BFRSCC yields improved ultimate strain and strain at peak load indicating its energy dissipation capacity at fracture.

The test in order to obtain liquidity, higher intensity ultra-high performance concrete(UHPC), in the course of preparation, high intensity quartz sand to replace the ordinary sand, reasonable mixture ratio control low water-cement ratio, the incorporation of part of the test piece ofsteel fibers, produced eight specimens . In the ordinary molding and the standard conservation 28d thecase, the ultra-high-performance concrete compressive strength of more than 170MPa.Thepreparation of the test method and test results will provide the basis for further study of the law of themechanical properties of ultra high strength properties of concrete.

Chloride ions, water, and oxygen could cause the corrosion of steel fiber in the aggressive environment. The corrosion of steel fiber in UHPC is a long-term process and the rate is very slow. As one of the important components of ultra-high performance concrete (UHPC), the corrosion of steel fiber is the result of multiple factors. The characteristics of steel fiber corrosion in UHPC, the factors influencing the corrosion of steel fiber in UHPC (including nanomaterials, curing condition and crack width), and effects of steel fiber corrosion on the UHPC performance (including mechanical properties, matrix rehydration and corrosion of steel bar), are emphatically elaborated. And the control methods of steel fiber corrosion in UHPC are briefly introduced, i.e. hybrid fibers and stainless steel fibers.
