Some functional luminol derivatives with aromatic substituted groups have been designed and synthesized from the reaction of the corresponding aromatic acyl chloride precursors with luminol. It has been found that depending on the size of aromatic groups, the formed luminol derivatives showed different properties, indicating distinct regulation of molecular skeletons. UV and IR data confirmed commonly the formation of imide group as well as aromatic segment in molecular structures. Thermal analysis showed that the thermal stability of luminol derivatives with p-phthaloyl segment was the highest in those derivatives. The difference of thermal stability is mainly attributed to the formation of imide group and aromatic substituent groups in molecular structure. The present results have demonstrated that the special properties of luminol derivatives can be turned by modifying molecular structures of objective compounds with proper substituted groups, which show potential application in functional material field and ECL sensor.

2D Zn(ii)/Cd(ii) based MOF involving mixed ligands have been synthesized. Zn(ii) based MOF has been utilized as a bifunctional material towards reversible dye adsorption and as an efficient heterogeneous catalyst in Biginelli reaction.

The new functional material, the hybrids with molecular formula (C6H5CNH2nNH3)2PbI4(where N=0,1,2) were synthesized by reactions in solution. The influences of the reactant ratio and the reaction time on the structures of the products were investigated. The structures and the properties of the hybrids were characterized using X-ray diffraction(XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and ultraviolet&visible (UV) adsorption spectra . The effect of number of methylene, n, on the structure forming and the band gap magnitude has been studied. The results demenstrate that the number of methylene has effect both on the forming of the layered structure and on the magnitude of the band gap.

Mechanoluminescence (ML) material is a novel functional material, showing a great potential on stress distribution of buildings, machine parts and other solid components. Novel ML materials NaAlSiO4:Eu2+,Ln3+(Ln=Ho, Nd, Dy) were prepared by a solid-state sintered method, And their microstructure, ML and PL properties were investigated. ML spectra were similar to the PL spectra with an emission band at 550nm, originating from transition 5d-4f of Eu2+, and other three emission peaks at 611 nm, 590nm and 578 nm, respectively ascribed to the transitions of 5D0 →7F2, 5D0 →7F1 and 5D0 →7F0 of Eu3+ ions. Thermoluminescence (ThL) was measured to characterize traps in NaAlSiO4:Eu2+,Ln3+(Ln=Ho, Nd, Dy). Diversity of ThL curves demonstrated co-doped Ln3+ change trap levels in NaAlSiO4:Eu2+.

ABSTRACTNanosized silicon carbide powders are synthesized by the Chemical Vapor Synthesis (CVS). Grain and particle sizes are measured by XRD and BET. Agglomeration, crystallinity and the chemical composition of the SiC samples are investigated as a function of storage conditions and the CVS process parameters: precursor material, synthesis temperature and reactor length. Grain and particle sizes below 10 nm are observed in all samples.
