Abstract In the paper, the authors describe the method of reduction of a model of rotor system. The proposed approach makes it possible to obtain a low order model including e.g. non-proportional damping or the gyroscopic effect. This method is illustrated using an example of a rotor system. First, a model of the system is built without gyroscopic and damping effects by using the rigid finite element method. Next, this model is reduced. Finally, two identical, low order, reduced models in two perpendicular planes are coupled together by means of gyroscopic and damping interaction to form one model of the system. Thus a hybrid model is obtained. The advantage of the presented method is that the number of gyroscopic and damping interactions does not affect the model range

Electromechanical devices consist mainly of rotor systems. Vibration is the result of the interaction of the elements of the rotor system and is largely determined by the accuracy of manufacturing elements at the production stage and defects arising in the process of operation. The main components of the rotor systems that affect vibration are bearings. To determine the technical condition of the bearings and the service life of the rotor system, it is necessary to accurately measure the unobservable vibrations of the rotor. The article describes the model of the channel for measuring the vibration of an electromechanical system, built using the apparatus of bond graphs. The transfer function is obtained by analyzing the signal flow graph. The systematic and random errors of vibration measurement are analyzed depending on the mass ratio between the system case and the vibration transducer for various sensor masses and attachment rigidity.

This paper focuses on the effects of the off-design operation of CAES on the dynamic characteristics of the triple-gear-rotor system. A finite element model of the system is set up with unbalanced excitations, torque load excitations, and backlash which lead to variations of tooth contact status. An experiment is carried out to verify the accuracy of the mathematical model. The results show that when the system is subjected to large-scale torque load lifting at a high rotating speed, it has two stages of relatively strong periodicity when the torque load is light, and of chaotic when the torque load is heavy, with the transition between the two states being relatively quick and violent. The analysis of the three-dimensional acceleration spectrum and the meshing force shows that the variation in the meshing state and the fluctuation of the meshing force is the basic reasons for the variation in the system response with the torque load. In addition, the three rotors in the triple-gear-rotor system studied show a strong similarity in the meshing states and meshing force fluctuations, which result in the similarity in the dynamic responses of the three rotors.

The dynamic model of the front double wishbone suspension and the rear multi-link suspension of the vehicle are established. On the basis of detailed analysis of suspension kinematics, calculation method of wheel alignment angle and force calculation of suspension bushing, the influence mechanism of suspension bushing on the vehicle transient state is clarified, and the vehicle transient characteristic index is derived from the vehicle three-free dynamic model. The sensitivity analysis of the suspension bushing is carried out, and the bushing stiffness which has a great influence on the transient state of the vehicle is obtained. The bushing stiffness scale factor is used as the optimization variable, the vehicle transient characteristic index is used as the optimization target, and the NSGA-II optimization algorithm is used for multi-objective optimization. After optimization, one Pareto solution is selected to compare with the original vehicle, the comparison results show that the yaw rate gain, resonance frequency and delay time of yaw rate in the vehicle transient characteristic index are all improved, other optimization targets change less. In the steady-state comparison, the understeer tendency of the vehicle increases, and the roll angle of the vehicle increases but is within an acceptable range.

Abstract Flywheel energy storage system as a new energy source is widely studied. This paper establishes a dynamic model of a single disk looseness and rub-impact coupling hitch flywheel energy storage rotor system firstly. Then dynamic differential equations of the system under the condition of nonlinear oil film force of the sliding bearing are given. Runge–Kutta method is used to solve the simplified dimensionless differential equations. The effect of variable parameters such as disk eccentricity, stator stiffness and bearing support mass on the system are analyzed. With the increase of eccentricity, the range of period-three motion is significantly reduced and the range of chaotic motion begins to appear in the bifurcation diagram. Meanwhile, stiffness of the stator and mass of the bearing support have a significant influence on the flywheel energy storage rotor system.
