AbstractThe Executive Dean of the Faculty of Homœopathy describes recent developments in the Faculty's international relationships. There are plans to establish the MFHom examination in India. The Special Committee for Education of the LMHI has organized discussions aimed at harmonizing standards of education for homœopathic doctors throughout Europe. The present situation of homœopathy in a number of European countries is summarized and the future plans and role of the Faculty of Homœopathy are presented

Party patronage is generally associated with social, economic and political underdevelopment, and is hence seen as largely irrelevant in the context of contemporary European politics. In this article, we argue to the contrary, proposing that patronage reappears on the stage of European politics as a critical organizational and governmental resource employed by political parties to enhance their standing as semi-state agencies of government. In order to illustrate our main contention, we first define party patronage, disentangling it from other notions of political particularism that are often used synonymously in the literature. Second, we provide a brief overview of the literature on the past and present of patronage practices in Europe, arguing that rather than declining, patronage is still likely to be a relevant feature of contemporary party politics in Europe. Finally, we analyse the role of party patronage in the light of recent developments in several European countries, identifying three distinct patterns of patronage practices in the region.

The Declaration of Bologna and subsequent documents have drastically changed the European university panorama and the future role of universities as providers of continuous education for a lifelong learning. There will be a convergence not only in academic titles, but also in the way we see university education. The previous EEE symposium gave some clues on the approaches taken by different European countries: organization of EE studies, integration of graduates into the market, and interaction with professional bodies. Bologna's outcomes were sold in Spain as a change into an American (USA) model, which, as any other model, has advantages and drawbacks. This paper deals with an open reflection on the future of university studies in Europe.

Understanding the structure of human nature is an important element in determining educational practices. Recent developments in the field of science, culture and technology today require us to reconsider the developments and changes in human nature. Therefore, while determining the qualifications and principles that should play a role in the education of the future, it is necessary to first evaluate how human that is both the subject and object of education in perceived in the 21st century. While all the disciplines are essentially examining human being from different perspectives and trying to understand its nature, Edgar Morin, a contemporary philosopher and sociologist, considers the issue from a different perspective and thinks that the reality of human nature can be reached only when the disciplines are considered as a whole. Morin, who thinks that uncertainties will be clarified with an integrated education, has suggestions for the education of the future. The role of Confucian traditions in strengthening the contemporary political regime of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea In Asian countries authoritarian relationships have been noticeable for centuries not only on political but also on social grounds.The teachings of Confucius were important in this aspect. According to many au­thors, they still exert a significant influence in North Korea and have an impact on the durability of Kim Jong-un. However, there are also opinions that it is a big mistake to describe this country as Confucian. For this reason the aim of this article is to show the real meaning of this ideology in North Korea. This will be done by demonstrating similarities of the present situation to the principles of Confucianism, as well as denials of the guidelines of this ideology. As a result, this will allow the author to analyze how Confucian traditions can determine the future of the regime in Pyongyang.

Picture libraries have been developed to serve a wide range of public and private enthusiasms and needs. Collections of several kinds have evolved to serve different archival, commercial, teaching and private functions. Recent developments include advances in conservation and exploitation, the publication of directories, and the formation of associations of picture libraries. Technological advance may help provide opportunities for greater cooperation and more effective use of existing resources.

Deleuze and Whitehead are both centrally concerned with the problem of how to reconcile the emergence of the New with the evident continuity and uniformity of the world through time. They resolve this problem through the logic of what Deleuze calls ‘double causality’, and Whitehead the difference between efficient and final causes. For both thinkers, linear cause-and-effect coexists with a vital capacity for desire and decision, guaranteeing that the future is not just a function of the past. The role of desire and decision can be seen in recent developments in biology.
