This research developed a micro-silicon cell filter using MEMS fabricating technology, which has constant filtering channel size, uniformed distribution, and good surface quality. Blood cell filtering experiment was carried out by applying pressure injection and the filtering quality was studied via cell counting. The experimental results demonstrates that flat plate filter can implement blood cells filtering separation, and erythrocyte recycling rate reaches 90% with the 4~5m in filtering size and 0.1L/min injection flow-rate fulfilling the requirement of blood cells separation. Increasing the flow-rate can improve filtering efficiency to a certain degree but has little effect on erythrocyte recycling rate, because micro array filter is insensitive to back pressure in contract to the filled filter.

Waste treatment in the industry produce sludge from the settling of solid material as a by product of the treatment process. The resulting sludge can’t be thrown away in large quantities because it can cause problems if there is still water content in it especially for industrial centers located around residential areas. So that filtration is carried out on the sludge from the Sedimentation Tub at the WWTP know in the area of Lamper, Semarang with the aim of reducing the volume of sludge by separating the water from the sludge before being discharged. The results of the analysis of the sludge filtration in the Settling Basin at WWTP obtained the value of cake resistance at a pressure of 75 kg / m2 of 4.42E + 11 m/kg, at a pressure of 90 kg/m2 of 5.62E + 11 m/kg and at a pressure of 104 kg/m2 of 6.74E + 11 m/kg. The results of the analysis on the resistance value of the filter medium obtained a value of 1.59E+12m-1 at a pressure of 75 kg/m2, 1.23E+12 m-1 at a pressure of 90 kg/m2 and 1.61E+12 m-1 at a pressure of 104 kg/m2. While in the analysis of water content, at a pressure of 75 kg/m2 obtained a value of 35.437%, at a pressure of 90 kg/m2 obtained a value of 35.024%, and at a pressure of 104 kg/m2 obtained a value of 34.024%. Efficiency The optimal pressure is 104 kg/m2.

Adopting quartz plate filter of 20 mesh to filter the ZL102 alloy compounded by Al-30Si coarse alloy produced by electric warming, the Fe content in the alloy is reduced to 0.43% from 1.14%, the big massive and petaloid Fe phase becomes fine block-like. The tensile strength and elongation of the alloy arrive at 182MPa and 4.3% respectively, which increased by 38% and 290% separately compared with the alloy without filtration. The mechanical property of this alloy has been close to the alloy compounded by pure Al and it can fully meet the demand of commercial production.

A novel fluorimeter has been developed that combines the selectivity of time-resolved detection and the sample throughput of a 96-well plate reader. With improved background rejection via temporal resolution, a reduction in the limit of detection by a factor of 600 was attained over that of a commercially available 96-well plate fluorimeter. The excellent limit of detection was utilized to differentiate two closely related species of Pseudomonas, P. fluorescens and P. aureofaciens, at a bacterial concentration of 500,000 cells per well with only 15 min of incubation. High sample throughput was demonstrated by incubation of six bacteria samples and data collection in an amino acid 12-nutrient profile within 30 min.

Filter cake is removed from the plates of a horizontal plate filter by means of torsional vibrations of the plates. For good vibration isolation from the surrounding objects the application of a new vibration absorber technique is suggested for the vibrational design of the apparatus. The design includes the consideration of damping forces between cake and plates. The theoretical results are confirmed by experiments with a simplified model.
