Abstract Modular flavor symmetry can be used to explain the quark and lepton flavor structures. The SUSY partners of quarks and leptons, which share the same superpotential with the quarks and leptons, will also be constrained by the modular flavor structure and show a different flavor(mixing) pattern at the GUT scale. So, in realistic modular flavor models with SUSY completion, constraints from the collider and DM constraints can also be used to constrain the possible values of the modulus parameter. In the first part of this work, we discuss the possibility that the S3 modular symmetry can be preserved by the fixed points of T2/ZN orbifold, especially from T2/Z2. To illustrate the additional constraints from collider etc on modular flavor symmetry models, we take the simplest UV SUSY-completion S3 modular invariance SU(5) GUT model as an example with generalized gravity mediation SUSY breaking mechanism. We find that such constraints can indeed be useful to rule out a large portion of the modulus parameters. Our numerical results show that the UV-completed model can account for both the SM (plus neutrino) flavor structure and the collider, DM constraints. Such discussions can also be applied straightforwardly to other modular flavor symmetry models, such as A4 or S4 models.

Yarn strength is composed of the total contributions made by all breaking and slipping fibers which are determined by critical slipping length lc. Though the definition of lc has been the focus of many research projects, it still remains unsolved. In this study, idealized assumptions were made on yarn structure, and lc was then estimated. At the same time, the actual contributions that breaking fibers and slipping fibers make to yarn strength were recalculated based on an idealized yarn structure, which was analyzed with the conditional probability method according to fiber length distribution. Then, yarn strength was computed by simulating random fiber arrangement in the yarn. It could be seen from calculated results that the critical slipping length declines as yarn twist multiplier increases. Meanwhile, as the twist multiplier increases, the calculated yarn strength rises to the highest point and then declines, which is in agreement with traditional spinning theory. Thus, the calculation of yarn strength based on critical slipping length could reflect the yarn breaking mechanism with a change in the yarn twist multiplier, and could be applied for further prediction of yarn strength.

The Impact

In order to improve working efficiency of the tunneling process and extend working life of disc cutter, explore the impact of cutter spacing and loading for the cutter rock-breaking effect. With the theory of rock crushing, Based on the finite element analysis software ABAQUS, the process of disc cutter breaking rock is simulated, considering the adjacent cutters sequential constraints, then, to make sure two cutter space with the method of SE in experiment.The simulation results showed that the optimal cutter spacings were both about 80mm in the same loading and the sequentially loading, but the rock-breaking effect of sequentially loading is better than the same loading. The experimental data showed that the minimum specific energy of rock breaking is appeared cutter spacing between 80mm and 90mm. Thus, the correctness and rationality of the simulation was verified. The study is good for understanding the rock-breaking mechanism of double disc cutter and has a certain promoting value to optimize TBM cutter system.Keywords:TBM, rock fragmentation, ABAQUS, cutter spacing, sequentially cutting

We study a supersymmetry breaking mechanism in the context of a minimal anomalous extension of the MSSM. The anomaly cancellation mechanism is achieved through suitable counterterms in the effective action, that is, the Green-Schwarz terms. We assume that the standard MSSM superpotential is perturbatively realized; that is, all terms allowed by gauge symmetries except for the μ-term which has a nonperturbative origin. The presence of this term is expected in many intersecting D-brane models which can be considered as the ultraviolet completion of our model. We show how soft supersymmetry breaking terms arise in this framework, and we study the effect of some phenomenological constraints on this scenario.

In this paper, we consider an axial torsion to build metric-compatible connections in conformal gravity, with gauge potentials; the geometric background is filled with Dirac spinors: scalar fields with suitable potentials are added eventually. The system of field equations is worked out to have torsional effects converted into spinorial self-interactions: the massless spinors display self-interactions of a specific form that gives them the features they have in the non-conformal theory but with the additional character of renormalizability, and the mechanisms of generation of mass and cosmological constants become dynamical. As a final step we will address the cosmological constant problem and the coincidence issue.
