Aim. The coping skills and styles individuals utilise to deal with the stress of HIV infection greatly influence the psychological impact of this illness and potential consequent feelings of hopelessness. The aim of this study was to describe levels of hopelessness in a group of stable, non-depressed HIV-positive patients receiving antiretroviral therapy, and factors associated with hopelessness. Method. Thirty randomly selected non-depressed patients (according to Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, 4th edition (DSM-IV) criteria) were included in this study. Demographic and other data were obtained from all subjects, who also completed the Beck’s Hopelessness Scale (BHS). The 20 true-false items of the BHS (29) measured three major aspects of hopelessness, which was interpreted on the total scale score as follows: ≤3 minimal, and >3 significant. Results. The study population comprised 30 patients with a mean age of 37.9 years (standard error (SE) 1.18) ( range 28 - 51 years). The mean BHS score was 4.03 (SE 0.55), with a range from 0 to 12. There were no statistically significant correlations between BHS scores of the study population and gender, marital status, employment status, level of education, years since the diagnosis of HIV, or number of children (p>0.05). Eighteen subjects (60%) scored 3 or less on the BHS, considered minimal levels of hopelessness. However, 12 (40%) scored more than 3, which is considered significant; of these 23% had scores of 7 or more. There was no statistically significant association between BHS scores and gender, employment status, level of education, number of children or number of years since diagnosis (p>0.05). However, patients who were married or living with partners were statistically more likely to score higher on the hopelessness scale compared with those who were single (p

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to have two main research goals: to identify and analyse the elements of dairy product packaging which influence customer purchase decisions, according to these elements’ compliance with their expectations; and to analyse the relations between final customers’ expectations towards elements of dairy product packaging and their three chosen demographic characteristics including age, gender and level of education. Design/methodology/approach – The paper is theoretical and empirical in nature. In the theoretical part, the cognitive-critical analysis of the world’s literature on marketing and marketing management was applied. In the empirical part the following research methods were used: questionnaire survey for gathering primary data and statistical analysis (factor analysis and the Kruskal-Wallis independence test) for the analysis of the primary data and for statistical reasoning, which formed the basis for the final conclusions. Findings – On the basis of the research, one can conclude that the analysed demographic characteristics of the respondents (age, gender, level of education) influence the structure of their expectations towards dairy product packaging, thereby determining their purchase decisions. The dependence does not exist only between the growth of pro-environmental expectations and the increase of the respondents’ level of education. However, this does not change the fact that level of education correlates with expectations related to other features of dairy product packaging, thus determining their structure. Originality/value – The original contribution of this paper to theory is the identification of Polish customers’ expectations towards elements of dairy product packaging and the description of their structural diversity, depending on the recipients’ demographic characteristics in terms of their purchase decisions taken thanks to the fact that their expectations concerning the features of packaging are fulfilled. This knowledge can make it easier to effectively manage dairy product packaging as a tool of influencing on customers and properly shape their marketing potential by offerors. It determines the applicability of the research results and the conclusions drawn from them.

Background: Patients with HIV are susceptable to developing HIV-associated neurocognitive disorder (HAND). However, few studies have explored the prevalence of neurocognitive impairment and its associated factors among patients with HIV in Indonesia. Aims: This study aimed to explore the prevalence of neurocognitive impairment in patients with HIV in Indonesia. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted among patients with HIV in West Java, Indonesia. Patients were eligible for study participation if they were HIV-positive and were aged over 20 years. The International HIV Dementia Scale (IHDS) was used to measure probable HIV–related dementia. Descriptive categorisations and statistics, using mean scores, standard deviation (SD) calculations or frequency rates, were applied to participant characteristics and major variables. Findings: There were a total 150 participants in this study. The mean age was 38.09 years (SD=3.99); 74% were male; 80.7% were high school graduates. The mean of CD4 counts was 493.3 (SD=139.8), and all participants had been living with HIV for more than 9 years (SD=3.84). The mean of total scores using the IHDS was 10.2 (SD=1.58), and 49.30% of patients with HIV were reported to have cognitive impairment. There was an increased prevalence of cognitive impairment among males with a higher BMI and higher systolic blood pressure Conclusions: Nearly half of patients with HIV in Indonesia are at high risk of cognitive impairment, as measured by IHSD. Health professionals caring for patients with HIV may consider routine neurocognitive impairment screenings during clinical visits to address this risk.

This research was motivated by the importance of workers harvesting oil palm fruit on productivity. One of the stages of oil palm cultivation is harvesting, which is one of the key determinants of oil palm productivity. Productive labor can be seen from the achievement of targets set by the company or the difference between the results obtained and the task bases that have been determined by the company. This has prompted researchers to analyze the factors that influence the productivity of oil palm harvesting workers. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of age, years of service, and level of education on the productivity of harvesters and to calculate the value of labor productivity in oil palm harvesting. In data analysis using descriptive method, where the data obtained from direct interviews with oil palm harvesting employees by asking several questions that have been prepared and will be processed using the SPSS method, respondents were taken as many as 35 respondents from all afdeling using the Slovin formula. The results showed that the labor productivity of oil palm harvesters at PT. WIN is significantly influenced by age and education factors. Meanwhile, tenure does not have a significant effect on labor productivity of harvesters. The productivity of harvesting labor that was achieved was 135 hrs / HOK, having exceeded the company's target of 110 hrs / HOK.
