Paper presents results of scientific support to construction of unique residential building 108 m high with one storey underground part under high-rise section and 3-storey underground parking connected by underground passage. On-site soils included anthropogenic soil, clayey soils soft-stiff, saturated sands of varied grain coarseness. Design of retaining structure and support system for high-rise part excavation was developed. It suggested installation of steel pipes and struts. Construction of adjacent 3-storey underground parking by “Moscow method” is described in the paper. This method involves implementation of retaining wall consisted of prefabricated panels, truss structures (used as struts) and reinforced concrete slabs. Also design and construction technology is provided for foundations consisted of bored piles 800 MM in diameter joined by slab with base widening diameter of 1500 MM. Experiment results of static and dynamic load testing (ELDY method) are considered. Geotechnical monitoring data of adjacent building and utility systems settlement caused by construction of presented high-rise building were compared to numerical modelling results, predicted and permissible values.

With the speeding up of urbanization and increasing of urban population, the urban land resources are increasingly scarce. Emergence of ultra high-rise building is an inevitable trend. At present, our construction industry is in the rapid development period, where the proportion of ultra high-rise buildings in urban architecture of many big cities constantly increases. The improving ultra high-rise engineering technology is an important part of the construction industry in our country. This paper will analyze the ultra high-rise construction technology of building work in detail.

Nowadays, under the situation of the accelerating process of urbanization, our social economic development has also been leaps and bounds and the corresponding construction industry has also been high speed developed. Our country in the field of land resources still insist on a solid strict management control, therefore, in this context,it will inevitably lead the land resources to face with a tense situation which has become a great test forhigh-rise residential building construction as it appears repeatedly. Normally, high-rise residential buildings have the characteristics of limited operating surface, high investment cost, long construction period and high requirements of construction technology. In view of this, this paper mainly analyzes the high-rise residential building construction technology.

Mass concrete is widely being used in the construction field, especially for the foundation of super high-rise building. In the initial stage of pouring completion of mass concrete, lots of heat generated from the cement hydration will lead to a high temperature inside of concrete. When the temperature difference between the inner and outer of concrete exceeds the limited value, thermal stress will be greater than the tensile strength of concrete, which may cause hazardous penetrating cracks of the structure. To ensure the safety and durability of concrete structure, necessary measures should be taken to control the temperature rise and construction quality of concrete. Taking a super high-rise building project as an example, this paper introduces several effective solutions to resolve above problems. The technical measures such as enhancing the concrete quality, controlling temperature rise, strengthening temperature monitoring would be detailed illustrated. Meanwhile, valuable suggestions achieved from this practical project are proposed in order to guide the structural design and on-site construction of similar projects.

The public nature of a high-rise building can be understood in two ways. Visually, it is an expression of architectural imagery. Physically, it is a layout of attached public spaces in which people can interact. Recently, high-rise buildings in Taiwan have grown in terms of their aesthetics as well as their height. With the aid of a survey of the aesthetics and layouts of high-rise buildings in Taiwan, the symbolic representation and public nature of high-rise buildings are examined. In addition, the Taipei 101 International Financial Centre is illustrated to show that high-rise building in Asia is moving away from a focus on construction technology and building style toward concern with architectural imagery and cultural identification which emphasise autonomous cultural representation.

This paper introduces the features and key points of construction of high-rise buildings. Combined with the practical application, the technology of concrete construction is put forward, as well as the control method of concrete pouring quality. According to the specific conditions of construction site, the construction method of foundation from shallow to deep is adapted. The different placement scheme and technical measures are made.

As the population growth and land resources declining, high-rise building project is increasingly common in the construction work. Through in-depth thinking and active exploration, specific attention to matters of deep foundation pit and pile foundation construction technique, which is the key construction techniques in the high-rise building project, was summarized in this article. It suggests to make a careful and detailed geological survey, and then choose the right design program and develop a reliable construction plans. This scheme was proved to be a useful reference and guidance for the development of high-rise building construction technology.
