In our living environment, we frequently encounter natural disasters such as typhoons, floods, earthquakes, drought, petrochemical plant safety accident, stripping accident and so on. Due to global climate change, natural disasters have become even more devastating. Thus, it is important to look for ways to mitigate disasters. This study employs the concept of resilience to examine the ability of parks to recover from natural disasters. According to previous disaster history, the damage caused by natural disasters in the parks is mainly water and wind. Therefore, this study first conducted a literature review to find out relevant resilience criteria that are advantageous for combating water and wind disasters, and to recognize the degree of resilience achieved by each criterion. Then, based on the elements of the resilience criteria, the study establishes a preliminary resilience grading system. Furthermore, three different types of parks are evaluated under the grading system. This study provides a theoretical basis for resilience grading and suggestions for improving parks in the future.

Natural disasters generate profound socio-economic changes in the affected communities. A consistent methodology that allows quantifying its impacts is essential for the implementation of adaptation and mitigation policies. The objective of this work is to provide a systematic review of existing methodologies to quantify the economic impact derived from the occurrence of natural disasters. To do this, a keyword search is conducted in two search engines (Scopus and Science Direct). The results suggest the existence of wide differences between methodological proposals. Consideration of physical damage (direct effect) is more frequent than the impact on productive flows (indirect effect). The destruction of the natural environment (loss of ecosystem services) is not usually included. In the context of global climate change, these findings highlight the importance of having a consistent methodology.

The purpose of this research is to reflect back 200 years of the eruption of Tambora on the island of Sumbawa, West Nusa Tenggara through travel with a photographic study approach, specifically travel photography. Since its inception, photography has played a constitutive role in shaping a travel record, this is also comparable to the importance of that role as a depiction of social identity (Osborne, 2000). In addition, travel photography is also a way to see experiences through visual authentication (Hilman Wendy, 2007). Mount Tambora erupted in April 1815, impacting global climate change and natural disasters which claimed 84,000 lives on the island of Sumbawa, and buried the Tambora kingdom and Concentrated .. Based on the results of research, researchers see the occurrence of reconstruction in the history of the eruption of Tambora which is not only seen as a mountain, but also as an identity in the social structure of society in the form of photography. A photographer has the authority to create a reality from pre-travel to post-travel.

Global Climate Change can affect human life and activities. The rising amount of natural disasters, the warming of the Earth and the melting of the icebergs are some examples of its effects. This study is conducted to analyze the coverage of global climate change issue in four Malaysia mainstream newspapers. The data for this study are collected from January 2008 to December 2010. A content analysis is conducted to identify the frequency of the articles related with global climate change, the articles length, the trend of newspaper coverage and the frames of the articles. The findings for this study will provide an understanding about the ways Malaysia mainstream newspapers provide the coverage about Global Climate Change and the audience reactions towards the issue. The findings also suggested that the coverage of global climate change is influenced by the events pertaining the issue. This can be observed from the trend of newspaper coverage. Finally, the result on the frames indicates that the most published topic in global climate change issue is public action to reduce the effects of global climate change and reduce the emissions of the greenhouse gas.

This paper reviews reconstructions of the the evolution of the Ponto-Caspian basin system to certain parts of the Pontian-Mediterranean system in order to analyze their correlation and response of the systems to the global climate change. The Ponto–Caspian and Mediterranean basins belong to different types of water basins and evolved differently in the Late Pleistocene responding in different ways to the global climate change. The paleogeographic reconstructions and correlation analysis of the Late Pleistocene events (within the last climatic macrocycle) made it possible to view the evolution of the basins as parts of a single system allowing to identify certain specific features and patterns in their functioning. The study is based on the analysis and integration of the data published by numerous researchers including the author of the paper and numerous colleagues from many countries who have been studying the paleogeography of the Ponto-Caspian and Mediterranean regions in the Late Pleistocene.

SUMMARYGlobal climate change is expected to affect the frequency, intensity and duration of extreme water-related weather events such as excessive precipitation, floods, and drought. We conducted a systematic review to examine waterborne outbreaks following such events and explored their distribution between the different types of extreme water-related weather events. Four medical and meteorological databases (Medline, Embase, GeoRef, PubMed) and a global electronic reporting system (ProMED) were searched, from 1910 to 2010. Eighty-seven waterborne outbreaks involving extreme water-related weather events were identified and included, alongside 235 ProMED reports. Heavy rainfall and flooding were the most common events preceding outbreaks associated with extreme weather and were reported in 55·2% and 52·9% of accounts, respectively. The most common pathogens reported in these outbreaks were Vibrio spp. (21·6%) and Leptospira spp. (12·7%). Outbreaks following extreme water-related weather events were often the result of contamination of the drinking-water supply (53·7%). Differences in reporting of outbreaks were seen between the scientific literature and ProMED. Extreme water-related weather events represent a risk to public health in both developed and developing countries, but impact will be disproportionate and likely to compound existing health disparities.


We need a complete agreement to implement the fight against global climate change as quickly and efficiently as possible, and Nguyen Dan, a Vietnamese citizen, announced the successful research, it’s the project “overcoming the greenhouse effect to combat global climate change, protecting the living environment” [2-6]. This new method can be seen the Vietnamese method [4, 5]. Thus an international meeting in Hanoi to discuss the work that COP Paris has not completed is probably understandable. On the other hand, the Vietnamese people are very friendly and hospitable, the political and social environment in Vietnam is very secure, Hanoi has organized many successful international meetings. From here in this article I will call COP Hanoi temporarily to mention this necessary meeting in the near future to come to a complete agreement.
