The analysis of factors influencing the failures of a mining excavator is substantiated. The classification of factors and methods of dealing with them will have a great importance in mining engineering. The article considers an example of the influence of various factors on the lifting mechanism of a hydraulic mining excavator. Thanks to the early identification of the most influencing factors on a mining excavator, it will be possible to manage the equipment maintenance and repair under actual conditions and operating conditions.

Maintenance of armoured vehicles in modern conditions has a significant impact on the effectiveness of combat missions. In particular, the timeliness of delivery of personnel and necessary cargo can be a critical parameter for the success of tasks in emergencies of man-made and natural origin, riots, participation in special operations for searching for and neutralizing armed criminals, eliminating illegal armed groups or performing territorial defence tasks. A complex characteristic of any technical system is its efficiency as a measure of the feasibility of solutions adapted to operating conditions. Assessing the effectiveness of armoured vehicles is associated with the need to predict performance, which directly depends on the application of modern technical areas to maintain the required level of performance. The efficiency of the system - the ability to perform its functions with a certain level of quality during the established period of operation. The efficiency of the system is determined by the set of its properties, laid down in the design and manufacture and maintained during operation. In this work, the criterion of effectiveness is to maintain the efficiency of armoured vehicles at the required level in service and combat use in a variety of road, transport and atmospheric-climatic operating conditions. Strategies and tactics for maintaining armoured vehicles performance at the required level are considered. The specificity of the operation of armoured vehicles is that it is used in different, sometimes very difficult conditions. Therefore, an individual approach is required, an adaptive maintenance and repair system state of armoured vehicles. The most expedient for armoured vehicles is a balanced combination of all levels of regulation of the systems of organization of maintenance and repair.

The classification of failures and damages of the linear part and its separate elements is carried out, variants of technology of carrying out of preventive and repair-restoration works and modular-technological structure of repair and maintenance units are formulated. Particular attention is paid to improving the efficiency of the operation of a separate repair and maintenance unit during maintenance and repair with a known layout scheme and a certain mode of control and restoration works by choosing the optimal technology of work and rational equipment of units and crews leaving for the route. On the basis of the analysis of the technology of work execution it is shown that only a small part of the repair and maintenance measures requires the use of powerful machinery and equipment, which include the first level of priority work on the replacement of gas pipeline sections, work, damage elimination, work on elimination of significant pipeline displacements, work for restoration of soil collapse of the main gas pipeline. In addition, each type of work on the objects of the linear part requires the use of the same vehicles. The type and number of vehicles depend on the particular operating conditions, as well as on the possibility and feasibility of purchasing and operating a particular type of equipment. The method of estimation of indexes of maintenance of linear part of main gas pipelines and efficiency of functioning of repair and maintenance units during maintenance and repair is developed.

Strategies for the management of small bowel obstructions have changed significantly over the years. Nonoperative medical management has become the mainstay of treatment of many small bowel obstructions. However, the key to the management of small bowel obstructions is identifying those patients who need surgical intervention. Identification of those at risk for bowel ischemia and bowel death is an art as much as it is a science. Using the current literature and the past knowledge regarding small bowel obstructions, the clinician must carefully identify the signs and symptoms that suggest the need for operative intervention. Classification of the obstruction, history and physical examination, imaging, response to decompression and resuscitation, and resolution or progression of symptoms are the key factors influencing the management of small bowel obstructions.

The paper analyzes research, technologies, and equipment related to wastewater heat utilization systems. The main factors influencing the development of the industry and the implementation of such systems are given. Such factors include: social, political, economic, technological, legal and environmental. The classification of technologies and equipment for wastewater heat utilization according to the place of heat extraction is given. Namely, low potential wastewater heat can be collected at the treatment plants, in sewer collectors leading to treatment plants and directly in houses. The paper describes the available research in the scientific literature on these three categories The global scientific community is working to create efficient wastewater heat recovery systems. The environmental situation requires greater use of wastewater recovery systems. An important issue is to increase awareness and education of the population, as this approach will increase the degree of implementation of wastewater heat utilization systems in residential buildings.

Reliability of power supply of consumers is an important task in the process of transmission and distribution of electric energy. The paper proposes a method for assessing the consequences of power failures of monoconsumers of electric energy on the example of an oil company and an adjacent power grid company. The uniqueness of the developed technique lies in the possibility of reliable calculation of reliability of power supply of complex branched electric networks without taking into account the specific scheme of power supply. The accuracy of calculations is increased due to the use of data directly studied power system, taking into account the specifics and operating conditions of specific equipment, instead of the average information. Classification of failures on the main reasons in electric networks of the oilproducing enterprise of the far North that allowed to develop actions for increase of level of reliability of power supply is made.

In the modern world, it is already difficult to imagine the creation of a significant engineering structure without modeling its external and internal appearance, the operation modeling of the main mechanisms, operating conditions and many other design features and emerging phenomena at the design stage. The paper interprets modeling and simulation as one of the computational methods that allow us to obtain quantitative results when studying ice impact on marine structures, for e.g. icebreakers and transport vessels, platform substructures, hydro-technical installations. In connection with the above, from the existing classification of modeling methods, the authors consider the physical and mathematical ones in the work. They present comparative advantages of both methods in their application in the problems of marine ice engineering, as well as the prospects for their development for solving a wide range of scientific problems aimed at the development of Arctic shipbuilding.
