Suranaree University of Technology (SUT) has participated in the Universitas Indonesia (UI) GreenMetric World University Rankings since 2013. It attempts to pursue campus sustainability programs and policies. The rankings is broadly based on the frameworks of environment, economy, and equity. The measurement criteria are divided into six categories with different point weighting i.e. setting and infrastructure, energy and climate change, waste, water, transportation, and education. These criteria heavily and directly involve the tasks and responsibilities of SUT's the Division of Buildings and Ground. A lot of environmental challenges in civil engineering and infrastructure works need to be achieved. The results of this year self-assessment show that although the university is in the developing stage, it can preserve both natural and planted forests more than 90%. It takes seriously role in green initiative by contributing 30% of total budget on sustainable efforts each year. It receives four national awards in the recognition of energy conservation initiative for green buildings. The university establishes the Integrated Solid Waste Management Plant (ISWM Plant) based on mechanical and biological treatment (MBT) which turns general wastes into valuable and sellable refuse-derived fuel (RDF). Moreover, these sustainable movements are in the continuous improvement process.

Of the entire problems related to environmental audit that have come into focus, institutional solid waste management has been the slowest to develop either in direction or regulatory mechanisms. In the absence of any specific regulatory directive, the institutions and especially the Universities have left waste management to the lower staff. There is no environmental management programme in any of the Universities in Odisha, India unlike most of the Universities abroad. This study examines the critical gaps in management through an audit of the solid waste of Ravenshaw University, Odisha. Results show that there is no framework in place for compliance of environmental laws. The top management of the University is not actively involved in directing the efforts. Even though the University generates 100.5 tons of waste per month only 37.5% of it is collected through regular municipality channels. Biodegradable waste constitute 82% of the total waste but is not used for energy recovery. There is no awareness among the students and faculty regarding sound practices. This paper attempts to provide a framework for policy and planning strategies relating to solid waste management in public and private educational institutions within the framework of Sustainable Integrated Solid Waste Management practices.

A ten-year integrated solid waste management plan was established for the University of the Philippines Los Baños which complies with the provisions of RA 9003. An end-of-pipe Waste Analysis and Characterization Study (WACS) was performed to identify the classification of wastes in UPLB. Waste generation was found to be 593.67 kg/day on the average and is expected to increase by 2% per year which is 709.49 kg/day on the year 2027. The waste composition by weight of the non-biodegradable wastes are as follows: plastic (55.68%); paper (35.77%); glass bottles (5.22%); metal (2.77%); and residuals (0.55%). A large portion of the wastes, which is 99.45% by weight, are recyclables.  The loose density of wastes is 131.93 kg/ m3. Feasible collection points were assigned to improve efficiency of the collection of wastes in the university. Building units inside the campus were clustered and was assigned to dispose wastes to a single temporary storage facility per cluster. There are 181 units of 240-L garbage bin needed for the 39 clusters in UPLB. Two sets of dimensions of a proposed temporary storage facility were provided for the temporary storage facility; 5 2 2.2 m and 3.5 2 2.2 m. Conceptual design and structural plans of the materials recovery facility were provided. Mass balance was performed, and the theoretical diversion efficiency of the materials recovery facility is 99.445%.

In most developing countries, solid waste components are generally commingled. Sorting of solid waste is one of the most important activities in the material recovering process of the integrated solid waste management system. If solid waste is sorted, about 30% of the work is done. Several methods exist for sorting comingled solid waste. The work presented in this paper involved the study of solid waste source sorting alternatives in Nigerian Universities. A site-specific study was carried out to characterize the solid waste generated in the University of Benin. Alternative concepts for sorting of solid waste were considered and evaluated. Source sorting was then selected for this study. The study revealed that about 14.56% of biodegradables, 42.26% of plastics, 39.62% of paper waste and 3.56% of metal waste are generated in the office and classroom areas of University of Benin. The study also showed that there is poor attitude to solid waste issues as the maximum cooperation realized on source sorting of solid waste was only about 50% for the waste-bin designated for plastic. The results obtained from the study also indicated that intensive sensitization of the generators on the benefits of source sorting is required for effective source sorting.

Today, many universities are trying to move towards sustainability by observing the principles of environment and green management. In this regard, the issue of green university has been considered by many countries in recent years, and many efforts have been made to join (UIGWURN (UI GreenMetric World University Rankings Network)). Isfahan University of Technology (IUT), as one of the top higher education universities in Iran, has taken fundamental steps to implement "Green Management" and has achieved honors in this regard. Some of the measures taken are extensive educational and research activities in the field of environment as well as executive measures for the university campus, including Xeriscaping, energy efficiency, clean energy use, water consumption management, waste and wastewater management, green buildings, and transportation. The implementation of these measures has led to significant results in reducing water and energy consumption, reduction of all types of pollutions following the use of clean energy, as well as saving consumption costs.

Technology Enhanced Learning has become more popular in recent times and many organizations and universities use it as a key instrument in various teaching and training scenarios. At the University of Technology of Graz, some courses require randomized quizzes where question variables can be assigned by arbitrary mathematical functions and this feature is missing in the current solutions. This article describes the development of a quiz application that can be integrated into Moodle by utilization of the Learning Tools Interoperability protocol (LTI). The PHP application is built to support programmable questions that can contain JavaScript and HTML code. Teachers are able to build interactive, randomized quizzes, in which the random variables can be assigned with complex mathematical functions. Furthermore, the application provides a programmable grading mechanism. With this mechanism, it is possible for students to self-assess their performance, as well as for teachers to formally assess their students' learning success automatically and send the results back to Moodle (or other LTI compatible consumer applications).

Waste management is one of the actionsof environmental management for improving environmental quality. This study describes the waste management in the campus through improvement of operational techniques, starting from container, collection, and transportation. Case study was taken in the university, which the amount of waste generation is about 166.559 kg/day or 0.013 L/person/day. The waste collection system is designed to use individual disaggregated sorting patterns that are adjusted to the composition of the waste, colour differentiation, and label of the container. Amount of sorted containers are 478 pieces. The waste collection system is planned by an indirect individual collection pattern and a temporary shelter plan in the form of a partition wall is adjusted to the composition of the waste. Planning for waste transportation system is using a fixed container system with motor cart under capacity of 2.3 m3 with 1 fleet. Transportation is carried out on a scheduled basis. Transportation management is arranged twice per-day for organic waste, once per-day for valuable waste, once per-week for hazardous waste, once every 2 days for other water. Transportation schedule is carried out twice per-day, in the morning and evening.

Motivation accompanies various human activities from an early age. The basic ones include fun, education and work. These activities are combined in different proportions and depend on the living environment and the interests of the individual. Care, upbringing, family environment and family atmosphere shape the child’s perceptions of the world. These factors also affect the individual in terms of making important decisions, which include undertaking education in a university. The human environment, objects, and the same places also imply various motives in creating human behaviour that translates into aspirations to achieve different life goals. The article is an attempt to present the impact of humans’ predispositions in their fields of interest, their self-assessment of intellectual possibilities, prospects for high -level earnings, employment opportunities in the country and abroad, as well as the curriculum covering subjects that were not difficult in high school and in which the pupil was good on the motives for choosing a major study of students of humanities at the University of Rzeszów and students of exact sciences from Rzeszów University of Technology.

Recently we conducted a study to evaluate the existing solid waste management practices at Institute of Business Management (IoBM), Karachi which shows that the institute possesses best management practices related to solid waste collection, transport, segregation, recycling/reuse, and final disposal. Adequate number of color-coded bins have been laid at appropriate locations throughout the university campus. Institute has enough staff for waste management including waste collection, transportation, and disposal. Results of our study indicate that about 2,033 kg of solid waste/month (24.5 tons/annum) is generated from the IoBM campus. Out of the total, about 67.8 % is the recyclable and reusable plastic, paper, and metal waste while, the remaining (about 32%) is mostly organic waste generated from various facilities of the university. Economic analysis indicates that about 252,012 Pak rupees annually are earned from selling the recyclable and reusable inorganic solid waste. Study also indicate that about 500 kg of good quality compost per month can be prepared from the organic waste including food and yard waste that can be used for existing horticultural activities at the university. Moving towards a sustainable integrated solid waste management system necessitates improved system of waste collection, segregation, reselling, and composting

This article details the process of self-reflection applied to the use of traditional performance indicator questionnaires. The study followed eight speech-language pathology graduate students enrolled in clinical practicum in the university, school, and healthcare settings over a period of two semesters. Results indicated when reflection was focused on students' own clinical skills, modifications to practice were implemented. Results further concluded self-assessment using performance indicators paired with written reflections can be a viable form of instruction in clinical education.

Food handler still fails to play their part even when the government imposes “No Plastic Bag” campaign and a ban on polystyrene foam to pack foods. This research focuses on eco-friendly food packaging based on the perception and practice of young consumers, especially the undergraduates of Mara University of Technology Penang Campus (UiTMPP). Questionnaire was constructed and distributed to 315 respondents.  The collected data were analyzed with simple descriptive statistic of frequency, mean and standard deviation. Most of the respondents are aware on eco-friendlyfood packaging. They agreed that the university should propose some alternative to control and reduce non-biodegradable foods packaging.
