This research is a GIS application for data management of the Champedak local wisdom. Champedak is a kind of plant, farmed in Satun Province. This research is an application development which practices computer innovation technology to help proceed, develop ideas and improve the ecological operations relating to the resources in the area. The application is for collecting Champedak information associated with the sustainable genetic conservation of Champedak plants. This will assist to record primary information, including the location of the Champedak tree and the figure of Champedak trees in each particular garden. A website was designed as a research tool which can display, search, and update the Champedak information. The case study of this research is in Khuan Done District, Satun Province, a service area of Songkhla Rajabhat University. The assessment results of the four satisfaction aspects are the installation process and the understanding of the application, the overview of the application, the aspects the user interface, and the usability. The average is at the highest level. Also, this research is a guideline for the conservation of genetically engineered plants and other plants with GIS in the future.

This paper examines the difficulties encountered by Biowatch, a South African civil society environmental organisation, in its attempts to obtain access to government information in respect of genetically engineered plants. The elaboration of the case is based on interviews conducted with the Director of Biowatch and the organisation’s legal counsel.

Agustini S, Suparman S, Tridamayanti HC. 2020. Landuse planning for food crop areas development using land resource evaluation approach and gis application (a case study of Pulang Pisau District, Central Kalimantan Province). Jurnal Lahan Suboptimal: Journal of Suboptimal Lands  9(1): 64-72.In order to promote sustainable landuse, the need of landuse planning is urgently required and it can be designed based on the result of spatial land resource data management. Land resource evaluation is main component for landuse planning which this procedure was applied to determine land allocation for arable lands for rice farming development. The use of geographic information system (GIS) technology was also employed not only for spatial data management, but they could also be applied to support decision making within establishing landuse planning. The objective of this study was to allocate the arable lands for extensification and intensification regions as main part of landuse planning for food crops areas development.  In the case of Pulang Pisau District, land allocation for extensification and intensification regions were mainly found in southern part and mostly located at  watershed areas with each total areas respectively of 380,261 hectares (36.81%) and 29,941 hectares (2.90% of total areas of Pulang Pisau District). In order to support these potential areas, specific programs could then be formulated to increase the yield and productivity for these regions.

One example of the growing information technology today is mobile learning, mobile learning which refers to mobile technology as a learning medium. Mobile learning is learning that is unique for each student to access learning materials anywhere, anytime. Mobile learning is suitable as a model of learning for the students to make it easier to get an understanding of a given subject, such as math is pretty complicated and always using formulas. The design method that I use is the case study method, namely, learning, searching and collecting data related to the study. While the development of engineering design software application programs that will be used by the author is the method of Rapid Application Development (RAD), which consists of 4 stages: Requirements Planning Phase, User Design Phase, Construction Phase and Phase Cotuver.

Reading the clues embedded in extant clothing demands both imagination and patience since the subtle marks of wear, use and alteration may only become evident with extended observation and reflection. During the course of a project undertaken in conjunction with the bicentenary celebrations of John Ruskin's birth culminating in the exhibition of Sarah Casey's drawings in Ruskin's Good Looking! (8 February–7 April 2019), the authors studied the garments of John Ruskin at Brantwood, his former home in the Lake District. The life-sized drawings of these garments produced by Casey mapped the absent presence of the former wearer, allowed visitors the opportunity to better see and reflect on Ruskin's clothing, and also revealed the hidden histories of Ruskin's garments. Drawing, the making of marks with meaning, is not an obvious research tool in dress history and curatorial practice but, as this case study shows, can expose subtle details and reveal new insights.
