Hemodialysis is a treatment for patients with terminal stage chronic renal failure, kidney function is replaced by a device called a dyalizer. Patients undergoing hemodialysis may be at higher risk for infection with COVID-19 due to frequent repetitive physical presence in health care facilities and physical closeness of patients during hemodialysis. The purpose of this case study is to describe the management of hemodialysis patients infected with the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). The method used in this research is descriptive with an exploratory research design. Database searches are taken from review literature, literature is obtained by keyword searches using sources such as Springer Link, Cambridge, Nature.com, Ebsco, Proquest and Google Scholar. Management of hemodialysis patients infected with COVID-19, namely screening at the beginning when the patient arrived with a temperature check, wearing a mask, and exposure to epidemic areas and the readiness of patients and health workers such as use of complete PPE, hand hygiene, correct cough etiquette. Management of patients and health workers during hemodialysis is appropriate initial treatment such as screening patients, when hemodialysis is performed, patients are spaced apart if necessary, isolation rooms, after completion of hemodialysis treatment the patient and the room must be disinfected.

In MRI, at ultrahigh field, the use of parallel transmit radiofrequency (RF) arrays is very beneficial to better control spin excitation spatially. In that framework, the so-called “universal pulse” technique, proposed recently for head imaging at 7 tesla, gives access to “plug-and-play” nonadiabatic solutions exhibiting good robustness against intersubject variations in the resonant transmit fields. This new type of solution has been defined so far as the result of numerical pulse optimizations performed across a collection of RF field maps acquired on a small population sample (pulse design database). In this work, we investigate an alternative universal pulse design approach in the linear small tip angle regime whereby the database of RF field maps is first transformed into a second-order statistical model and which then exploits a statistical robust design formalism for the optimization of the RF and magnetic field gradient waveforms. Experimental validation with an eightfold transmit RF coil for 7 tesla brain imaging shows that this new approach brings some benefit in terms of computational efficiency. Hence, for a design database composed of 35 maps, the computation time initially of 50 min could be reduced down to 3 min. The proposed statistical approach thus enables integration of large databases, presumably necessary to ensure robust solutions. Finally, it provides means to compute flip angle statistics and, along with it, simple performance metrics for quality assurance (RF pulse performance) or guidance in the optimization of TX array architectures.

AbstractIn today's aggressive global market, innovation is key for success and design solutions require not only to achieve competitive edge, but also to address the growing environmental, social, and economic needs of the community at large. Consideration of these three pillars of sustainability makes a design inclusive, and life cycle thinking is found to be a promising approach across the literature. However, most supports for design address certain facets or aid singular tasks, and the use of design methods and tools, which have the potential to significantly improve the design process, is low due to inappropriate use and selection of these methods. InDeaTe (Innovation Design database and Template) is a holistic, knowledge-driven, computer-based tool for design of sustainable systems, such as products, manufacturing systems andservice systems and has been developed to address and integrate the aspects of sustainability on a singular design platform. It comprises of the generic design process Template that imbibes life cycle thinking into the process by incorporating consideration of every life cycle phase in each design stage, where design activities are performed iteratively. It further supports the design process by aiding the use and selection of appropriate design methods and tools in concurrence with the primary motivation of improving sustainability of the system with the aid of the InDeaTe Design Database. This paper discusses the ontological underpinnings behind the conceptualization of the InDeaTe methodology and the development of the supporting tool. The paper further reports empirical findings from six different case studies conducted for evaluating the effectiveness of InDeaTe tool in supporting design for sustainability (DfS). The results show that InDeaTe tool has potential in supporting DfS.
