Teams Games Tournament is one cooperative learning method which actively involves students to solve their problems through an interesting game. The game consists of questions that have content relevant to the main topic and to boost up students’ self-confidence in their ability to exert their self-control over motivation, behavior and social environment. This research aims at investigating the effect of Teams Games Tournament toward students’ self-efficacy on mathematics. The study was conducted toward 64 seventh graders in Landak Regency on social arithmetic material, selected using cluster random sampling. The experimental design used the one group pretest posttest experimental design that was analyzed by quantitative method. Data collection employed "Mathematics Self Efficacy Questionnaire" and was analyzed by statistical method using SPSS-20. The results show that Teams Games Tournament has a significant effect toward students’ self-efficacy on mathematics. The result is drawn from t-value = -12.369 and sig.(2-tailed) = 0.00. Therefore, it can be concluded that Teams Games Tournament has positive effect toward students’ self-efficacy on mathematics. The study implies that teachers should consider the implementation of Teams Games Tournament in classroom teaching.

In achieving the goals of education, it is imperative for teachers to have high self-efficacy which has a direct positive effect on their delivery and for the overall benefit of their pupils. This study was in three-fold. First was to access the influence of teachers’ demographics on their self-efficacy. Second, how work environment influences teachers’ self-efficacy and finally, how their self-efficacy impact students’ performances in the Bolgatanga municipality of Ghana. The efficacy dimensions studied are classroom management practices, classroom instructional practices, and student engagement. It was noted that whiles gender has no significant impact on teachers’ self-efficacy, older, more educated and highly experienced teachers had higher self-efficacy. Also, teachers in the urban area tend to have higher self-efficacy than those in rural areas. Not overlooking other factors, students’ poor performance in some rural areas can largely be attributed to the lower self-efficacy of their teachers as compared to their urban counterparts. Governments should intensify their extrinsic motivation packages to make life more comfortable for teachers working in rural areas and by bridging the rural-urban developmental gap. It is also imperative to intensify self-efficacy in teacher trainees to increase their self-confidence where ever they find themselves.

Literature has pointed out, for at least two decades, that the perceptions about one’s own competency influence the motivation to learn and the school achievement. However, in the case of the Education for Youngsters and Adults (EJA), the beliefs and emotions related to the students’ own self-percepts as learners, especially as Mathematics learners, have not been given proper attention. In this article, we present a case study whose purpose was to investigate possible mobilizations of the Mathematics self-efficacy beliefs by an EJA student throughout the development of Mathematics tasks, which were created based on a theoretical framework. The research - from the development of the activities through the analysis - was based on Albert Bandura’s Social Cognitive Theory, in particular, on the concept of self-efficacy. For seven months we collected data through questionnaires, semi-structured interviews, the researchers' field journal, and video recordings of a few Mathematics class of a high school class at a public school, in Divinópolis, Minas Gerais, Brazil. The results showed strong evidence of mobilization of the self-efficacy beliefs on Vanda’s behalf. However, albeit there has been observed more persistence by the student when carrying out her activities, her more active and autonomous participation, as well as her self-confidence and emotional well-being, it was also verified that the student’s behavior, feelings, and perceptions under evaluative situations evinced a slight change with regards to controlling negative emotions in those situations. In spite of being a single case, this work contributes to shed light on the Mathematics self-efficacy beliefs held by EJA students, as well as on the teacher’s role in the process.

This research aims to figure out ; 1) whether the ability of mathematical problem solving of students in the class with Problem Based Learning is better than the one with Direct Learning; 2) whether self-efficacy of students in the class with Problem Based Learning is better than the one with Direct Learning. This is a quantitative experimental research with Post-Test Only Control Design. The population of this research is all students of grade VIII at SMP Negeri 1 Patikraja. Two classes are chosen to be the samples of the research using cluster random sampling. Class VIII F is taught using Problem Based Learning and class VIII D is taught using Direct Learning. The data

This study is generally attempted to find out whether or not  of Fishbowl technique  effective towards students’ self efficacy in speaking for second grade students of SMPN  1 Sikur academic year 2017/2018. method of this research was applied is experimental research (quantitative approach). The population of this research was of second grade students at SMPN 1 Sikur. which consistes of eight classes. the samples, were VIII A as experimental class, and VIII C as control class. They were chosen by using cluster random sampling technique with lottery. Experimental class was treated by using fishbowl technique, and control class was treated by using role play. The technique which was used to analysis the data was test formula. From the research data found out that the students’ t-test score (1,73) and t-table (1,667) from (df) was 64. Based on the result of the study, and the correlation between self-efficacy and speaking was r-test (2,70) > r-table (0,320). It can be concluded that the use of fishbowl technique has positive effect toward students’ self-efficacy in speaking and has correlation both of them at the second grade students SMPN 1 Sikur academic year 2017/2018.

Despite technological advances, hand-to-hand combat with or without portable armament remains a necessity in the contemporary operating environment, especially given the ambiguity of urban warfare and the close and regular interaction of the military with various adversaries (combatants or non-combatants) a wide range of situations in which force is used. Being a commitment between two or more people, in a confrontation in which ammunition is not used; training the military on hand-to-hand combat seems an important component that the military must consider in the physical preparation of the military for future conflicts. Cultivating courage to increase self-confidence is one of the most important benefits that hand-to-hand combat training can have. In a tense situation, having trained fighting skills in this regard can mean the difference between opening fire and escalating conflict, on the one hand, and avoiding disputes through a self-control approach to the factors that cause pain and fear, on the other hand.   Keywords: hand-to-hand combat; portable weapons; technical procedures; specific training; physical training, military physical education.
