The diffusion phenomena of thallous ions ( Tl + ions) through solid-liquid interface of liquid Tl + ions diffusion source and sodium chloride (NaCl) , potassium chloride (KCl) or rubidium chloride (RbCl) single crystals are studied by optical method. The characterisic absorption peaks of Tl + center in NaCl, KCl or RbCl single crystals were used as the tracer for measurements and the diffusion constants are evaluated at various temperatures. The results show that the diffusion constant of solid-liquid interface is about 103 times larger than that of solid-solid interface of KCl and TlCl .

A procedure is outlined by which sodium chloride particles of specific surface up to 50 m2 per gm. may be prepared. The particles form in chains and are found to lose area rapidly in moist air. The fundamental units of the chain do not appear cubic. Single cubic particles or chains of cubic particles also have been prepared. The one sample identified as this type had a specific surface of 18 m2 per gm. The sintering in moist air appears to occur by a process of solution and recrystallization. A value of the interfacial free energy solid–liquid is calculated from the data.

Kaolin, widely used aluminosilicate source material was added with alkaline activator solution, creating geopolymer coating paste.Optimum design for kaolin based coating using geopolymer technology was studied. The work was to analyses the effect of solid liquid ratio, sodium silicate and sodium chloride ratio and sodium chloride molarity on its adhesive performances on lumber wood substrate. Upon observation, coating with 0.9 solid/liquid ratio, 0.45 sodium silicate/sodium chloride ratio and sodium chloride solution with 6M molarity shows promising adhesive strength. These results were further evident with morphological studies.
