Abstract Although questions are considered as important linguistic devices employed by lecturers to communicate facts and ideas to students and facilitate the learning process, they have not been a topic of extensive research. With that in mind, this paper explores the types and functions of questions asked by British and Montenegrin lecturers. It examines similarities and differences between two corpora – standard British academic corpora and a specially created corpus of Montenegrin lectures. Both quantitative and qualitative methodologies were used to conduct a contrastive analysis of lecturers’ questions. The results demonstrate that the differences in frequency, forms and functions of questions prevail over the similarities, which could be the impact of two different linguistic backgrounds and national academic cultures. The findings of this study could be useful in designing lecture-listening and note-taking courses for students in which they can get familiar with the forms and purpose of questions posed by professors. Research findings could be applied in training courses for novice lecturers and might also be useful to professors who give lectures to students with diverse linguistic backgrounds.

The aim of the paper is to examine, with the methodology of contrastive analysis, the difficulties Hungarian students face in the process of learning Spanish, both in the fields of oral and written assignments. Thus, the paper examines the problematics of teaching both grammar (nouns, verbs, tenses and modes) and pronunciation. Although not all linguists agree on the merits of the use of the contrastive method, it is still indispensable. This method makes it possible to examine the impact of the connection between the mother tongue, and the second and third acquired language, and explore similarities and differences between different languages. The paper applies the contrastive method and its principal focus to the process of teaching and learning Spanish. The author proposes that the use of this method makes it possible to identify and classify the most typical mistakes made by the native Hungarian student, thus making the learning process more easy and effective, and also contributing to the efficiency of the language teacher's work.

This research is motivated by the outbreak of the Corona virus since May 2020 causing fear and anxiety for everyone in various aspects of life, including the world of education, students, parents and teachers are also the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak. Moreover, the massive spread of this virus has penetrated throughout the country so that it is declared a pandemic condition. One solution that is highly recommended by WHO and supported by health experts and government policies is to maintain physical social distance. These conditions have an impact on the implementation of the program at home only. This requires all activities that were originally carried out outside the home to move into the house. Of course, this adaptation change presents quite a serious polemic, especially in the process of implementing learning, the term school from home (SFH) has become a new order in the world of education. So there are various innovations in the learning process from home, so that children continue to absorb knowledge even though they do not come to school. One of the educational services that serve the implementation of learning from home, especially in conducting guidance is homeschooling. This learning implementation service through homeschooling is an alternative to implementing learning that strongly supports the absorption of knowledge for children who do not have the opportunity to attend formal schools. The method used in this research is a descriptive qualitative method. Ways to obtain data in this study include observation, interviews and documentation. Based on the results of research findings in the field, it can be concluded that the learning process through homeschooling based on learning services from home is considered effective during the Covid-19 pandemic, where parents, teachers can work together in monitoring children while studying from home more effectively on children's development in learning. study from home.

This paper examines two issues: the author’s recent research on the capacity of prisons to incorporate human rights considerations into their routine management; and the methods employed in this research in prisons in two Australian jurisdictions. The first element examines the impact of formal human rights instruments on prison management and on the lived experiences of prisoners, and the potential for the practical application of human rights obligations in this environment. The second gives closer analysis to the specific use of qualitative methodologies in carrying out this research, and the potential implications of methodology for subsequent acceptance of research findings by governments.

The research objective was to examine learning plans, learning activities, and the impact of learning by using traditional games sesiku in building character values in Kindergartens in Bengkulu City. The children's character values that emerge from the traditional games sesiku are the character values of honesty, discipline, sportsmanship, cooperation, and help. The method used in this study was experimental. The instrument for the observation of character values was tested on 30 children aged 5-6 years. The validity used the character value of the observation guideline sheet with product-moment correlation and the reliability of the character value of the observation guideline sheet with Cronbach's Alfa. The T-test is used to see a significant difference between the two average parameters in the same sample group between the initial and final test scores. The research findings indicated that the format of the daily learning implementation plan had followed the appropriate format. The learning process integrates Bengkulu's traditional children's games into early activities outside the classroom. Bengkulu's traditional children's games are internalized into the lesson plan and teacher's lesson plan to contribute to developing character values in early childhood. In the teaching and learning process and after the end of the teaching and learning process, the character values of children can be observed from the behavior that appears, such as the character values of honesty, discipline, sportsmanship, cooperation, and help.

This study focuses on examining the impact of three components of materialism on green purchase intention for urban consumers in Vietnam, an emerging economy. An extended Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) is applied as the conceptual framework for this study. The hypotheses are empirically tested using survey data obtained from consumers in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam. The regression results show support for most of our hypotheses. The findings indicate that two out of three facets of materialism are significant predictors of green purchase intention. Specifically, success is found to be negatively related to purchase intention, while happiness is related positively to the intention. All three antecedents in the TPB model, including attitude towards green purchase, subjective norm, and perceived behavioral control are also found to have positive impacts on purchase intention. The research findings are discussed and implications for managers and policy makers are provided.
