Considering the advantages of trapezoid fuzzy two-dimensional linguistic variables (TrF2DLVs), which can not only accurately describe the qualitative evaluation but also use qualitative linguistic variables (LVs) to describe the confidence level of this evaluation in the second dimension, this paper proposes a novel method based on trapezoidal fuzzy two-dimensional linguistic information to solve multiple attribute decision-making (MADM) problems with unknown attribute weight. First, a combination weight model is constructed, which covers a subjective weight determination model based on the proposed trapezoidal fuzzy two-dimensional linguistic best-worst method (TrF2DL-BWM) and an objective weight determination model based on the proposed CRITIC method. Then, in order to accurately rank the alternatives, an extended VIKOR-QUALIFLEX method is proposed, which can measure the concordance index of each ranking combination by means of group utility and individual maximum regret value of each evaluation alternative. Finally, a practical problem of lean management assessment for industrial residential projects is solved by the proposed method, and the effectiveness and advantages of the method are demonstrated by comparative analysis and discussion.

After processed the signals obtained from monitoring system, one theory of condition evaluation was proposed on basis of a new evaluation parameter—index variation. One new condition grade division method was proposed from approximate statistic distribution of index variation, and as per the concept of confidence degree and confidence interval. Because the monitoring data and the standard of condition grade division were all interval numbers, interval extension evaluation theory was adopted to establish the model of condition evaluation. Set-Valued Statistics and gravity center based decision theory were introduced to divide weight into subjective weight and objective weight to make calculation. This evaluation method was found to be reasonable and had good project practicability.

In this paper, using the relevant data of 34 teaching staffs who participate in the academic title evaluation of associate professor in 2010, firstly it introduces the entropy weight method, Topsis method with subjective weight, Topsis method with objective weight and double base points method with subjective weight to evaluate and sort the performance of 34 teaching staffs. Secondly, two combination evaluation models are constructed to do the same work and the conclusions are more science and rational.

This paper proposes a combination weighting algorithm using relative entropy for document clustering. Combination weighting is widely used in multiple attribute decision making (MADM) problem. However, there exist two difficulties to hinder the applications of combination weighting on document clustering. First, combination weighting is based on the integration of subjective weighting and objective weighting. However, there are so many attributes in documents that the subjective weights which rely on manual annotation by experts are impracticable. Secondly, a document data object might contain hundreds or even thousands of features. It is an extremely time-consuming task to calculate the combination weights. To address the issues, we suggest to simplify the combination weighting by not distinguishing subjective weight and objective weight. Meanwhile, we choose relative entropy method to reduce running time. In our algorithm, we obtain a combination weight set with 14 combination forms. The experiments on real document data show that both on the AC/PR/RE measures and the mutual information (MI) measure, the proposed CWRE-sIB algorithm is superior to the original sequential information bottleneck (sIB) algorithm and a series of weighting-sIB algorithms, which are built by applying a single weighting scheme to the original sIB algorithm.

The plan for power supply and distribution system in the Chemical Industry Park is complex. The evaluation method must be easy and truly show the site conditions in order to maintain the proper function of the system. Thus the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method was chosen and applied in this paper. As for the weight calculation, Analytic hierarchy process (AHP) was used to compute the subjective weight; on the purpose of avoiding strong effect of subjective factors, the standard deviation for each index was calculated, and then the subjective weight was integrated to build the subjective and objective comprehensive weight model. Lastly fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method was applied into the model for assessing the power supply and distribution system in the Chemical Industry Park.

The law of categorical judgment was applied to data on subjective weight in order to eliminate the possible biases. Conditions D, C, and a new approximation method were used. Stimuli were two series of plastic cylinders weighing 40 to 200 gm. The results indicate that linearity in the relationship between scale values R and stimulus values S increases as the number of assumptions decreases. When Scheffé's method is used, the relationship can be given by R = 2.5 S − 3.1, which is similar to that obtained by the new method of the law of categorical judgment.

The weight of evaluation index plays a key role in condition assessment and maintenance control of power transformer. A new approach of determination of comprehensive weight is proposed in this paper. The approach combines the entropy objective weight with the expert subjective weight together in a specific form, which not only avoids the situation that single weight determines the overall weight, but considers the primary and secondary problem between the two weights. The comprehensive weight calculated by this approach can reflect the place of every index in condition assessment of power transformer well. Empirical results show that the approach is reasonable and available.

The multi planning contradictions and maladjustment of spatial management that evolved from an unbalanced development are becoming increasingly serious in China; therefore, it is imperative to know how to coordinate spatial planning. The scientific division of spatial unit attributes and the identification of ecological–agricultural production–living spaces (EPLs) have become the key scientific problems of this period. The existing urban structure zoning model, the urban growth boundary model, and the function-oriented zoning model show three main shortcomings: the difficult data acquisition and the large limitation of the application because of their high requirements of the related parameters, strong subjective weight setting, and lack of comprehensive zoning in the EPLs practice. This paper builds a quantitative and easily operated model for the spatial zoning of municipal administrative areas (MAA) based on the existing spatial equilibrium model for regional development. Three representative cities in China were modeled empirically with this model and the results were compared with those obtained by the existing models. We investigated the image consistency of this model to the three existing models where the Kappa values were 85.9%, 88.2%, and 85.2%, respectively, with an average of 86.4%. This showed that the model could reduce the data limitation and expand the scope of the application while ensuring the accuracy of the model’s analysis results. Meanwhile, the EPLs zoning was clearer, which made the spatial plan coordination more efficient and scientific. Overall, this model could not only solve the problem of the EPLs zoning and spatial plan coordination in MAA, but also guide urban land use planning from two dimensions of space and time and effectively promote the coordination and sustainable development of spatial planning.

In order to solve the problem of selection of human resource provider for the demander in package design project, firstly, the evaluation index system of provide side is established, and the entropy weight method is used to calculate the objective weight of the evaluation index; secondly, the subjective weight is solved by the five scale valuation method, and the comprehensive weight with subjective and objective significance is obtained; then, with the help of the ideal point method, the provide side is evaluated, which can provide a reference for the choice of the demander; finally, an example is given to verify the effectiveness and practicability of the method.

<p><strong>Abstract.</strong> Forest fire has been regarded as one of the major reasons for the loss of biodiversity and dreadful conditions of environment. Global warming is also increasing the incidence of forest fire at an alarming rate. That’s why, one need to understand the complex biophysical parameters, which are responsible for this disaster. As it is difficult to predict forest fire, fire risk zone map can be useful for combating the forest fire. So the main aim of this study is to generate a Fire risk model to map fire risk zone using Remote Sensing &amp; GIS technique. Pauri Garhwal District, located in Uttarakhand, India, has been selected for this study as it continually faces the problem of forest fire. Landsat-8 data of 18th April, 2016 have been used for land use land cover mapping. Slope and other information have been derived from topographic maps and field information. For thematic and topographic information analysis ArcGIS and ERDAS Imagine software have been used. Forest fire risk model was generated by using AHP method, where each category was assigned subjective weight according to their sensitivity to fire. Three categories of forest fire risk ranging from very high to low were derived. The generated forest fire risk model was found to be in strong agreement with actual fire-affected sites.</p>
