The Numerical study of the flow of a fluid in the annular region between two eccentric sphere susing PHP Code isinvestigated. This flow is created by considering the inner sphere to rotate with angular velocity 1  and the outer sphererotate with angular velocity 2  about the axis passing through their centers, the z-axis, using the three dimensionalBispherical coordinates (, ,) .The velocity field of fluid is determined by solving equation of motion using PHP Codeat different cases of angular velocities of inner and outer sphere. Also Finite difference code is used to calculate surfacetractions at outer sphere.

The development characteristics of impact-induced damage in carbon-fiber-reinforcedplastics (CFRP) laminates were experimentally studied using a drop-weight impact tester. Five types of CFRP laminates were used to investigate the effect of stacking sequences and thicknesses. The efficiency of absorbed energy to impact energy was different for CFRP laminates with different stacking sequences or thicknesses. The DA/AE ratio of delamination area (DA) to absorbed energy (AE) was almost the same for CFRP laminates with the same stacking sequence regardless of the thickness. We found that the DA/AE ratio could be used as a parameter to characterize the impact damage resistance in CFRP laminates with different stacking sequences.

This paper proposes a new mechanism for detecting microscopic damage of structures based on imitating the sensory organs of spiders. Therefore, it is essential to manufacture sensors that can react sensitively to the micro deformations of structures. Numerous cracks were intentionally generated to improve the sensitivity of the proposed sensor, and an increase in the gap of the crack was observed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) observation. Electrohydrodynamic technology is used to detect deformations in a structure of depositing Ag nano paste on a polyethylene terephtha-late (PET) substrate. Ag nano lines are also observed by SEM images. The sensor is constructed as a grid structure, by forming layers patterned horizontally and vertically. An impact tester is used to verify the mechanism for structural health monitoring using the developed sensor. The resistance changes of the sensors are applied to estimate the structure’s damaged location. The intersections of the lines with varying resistance can be used to accurately detect crack initiation. The proposed mechanism is a powerful methodology for estimating and detecting microscopic deformations and damage to structures.

The goals are to identify the strength reduction behavior and its statistical properties of sandwich structure subjected to low velocity impact. For these, the impact tests were performed using the impact tester and the damages are inspected by SAM. And then, subsequent static tests are conducted under flexural loading for the impacted structures. The strength reduction behavior is evaluated via the residual strength prediction model. Also, a statistical model is developed to identify the fluctuation of residual strength. The model well describes the distribution of residual strength.

Natural rubber (NR)/Polycaprolactone (PCL) core-shell (NR-ad-PCL), from admicellar polymerization, was as an impact modifier for the composites. PLA was mixed with NR-ad-PCL with different NR-ad-PCL contents at 5, 10, 15 and 20 wt%. PLA-based composites were prepared by co-rotating twin screw extruder. The morphology of the composites was observed by Field emission scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM). Mechanical properties of the composites were investigated by dynamic mechanical analyzer and pendulum impact tester. The impact strength of the PLA filled with NR-ad-PCL increased while modulus of the PLA composites decreased with increasing rubber contents.
