From time to time the standard and content of musical education in Danish Teacher Training Colleges has been the subject of strong criticism. It has been argued that the courses are out of date; that they should be modernised, and that the quality of instruction should be improved. Yet the criticism is often imprecise – possibly because those who make it are not themselves sufficiently well-informed about the details of the existing courses and the problems faced by those who have to teach and administer them. The author, a very experienced musician, author of numerous music-education publications, and himself a Lecturer at a Teachers College, discusses the principles and problems of organising music as a specialist area of the teacher-education programme.

The paper considers the development of broadcasting in the Penza region in the late 1940s and early 1950s, Emphasizes that this period is characterized by active and widespread broadcasting across the country and on the territory of the studied region. Radio infection affected not only regional settlements and working centers of the region, but also remote collective farms. The leader in the development of local radio broadcasting was Kameshkir district, which had its own Studio. It is noted that the radio broadcasting of the Penza region was under strict control of the party and Soviet bodies. For each program, a mandatory verification procedure was introduced, and thematic plans of programs were sent to the places. The quality of local programs directly depended on the level of professional training of editorial staff. The most interesting and operative in content were the programs of the Penza, Kuznetsk and Kamenskaya editions, which actively attracted local party, Komsomol and Soviet workers, leading figures in industry and agriculture, propagandists and agitators to the speeches. Radio broadcasting in the Penza region in the 1940s and early 1950s was actively developed and had a strong propaganda orientation, which was reflected in the subject matter and the quantitative ratio of radio broadcasts.

In the last few years, Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) has been extensively implemented in the Italian school system and particularly in the Autonomous Province of Trento. This article aims to analyse students’ perception of the quality of their CLIL experience since they are the final recipients of CLIL. Results suggest that students acknowledge the positive impact of CLIL on their L2 proficiency (English). However, the success of CLIL seems to be strongly dependent on the CLIL teacher’s linguistic competence in the L2 and on the CLIL curriculum design, which should avoid oversimplification of the subject matter taught by means of the L2.

Meeting the expectations of higher education teachers and assistants for training within the INOVUP project. All university teachers work with students, but not all of them are aware that the teaching approach is as important and as relevant as the subject content. Within the INOVUP project, university teachers receive training in higher education didactics to raise the quality of instruction. The main premise of the project is that the teaching method is related to the acquired knowledge, understanding of the content, motivation for work and cooperation between students and teachers. The article addresses teachers’ responses to and expectations of these training events and how these expectations are met. The results show that more than three-quarters of the participants seek practical, usable knowledge. The participants are mostly satisfied with the training, which they consider to be a positive contribution to the acquisition of theoretical and practical knowledge and motivation for further deepening their knowledge. Based on these findings, recommendations can be put forward to upgrade training for future participants.

The current research is an analysis on the quality of an instrument that is used to measure educator performance at a college in West Nusa Tenggara. The research aims to improve the quality of the instrument. Factor Analysis is used in the study. There are 3 measurement factors in the instrument, those are pedagogic factors (5 indicators), professionalism (11 indicators) and personality (3 indicators). The result shows that: 1) those indicators can be classified into two factors, formal factors and informal factors. Formal factors is institutional and structured, such as the indicators of subject matter delivery, the use of teaching method, the use of relevance example, and the use of learning media and tools. Meanwhile, informal factors is non-institutional, which tends to be emotional relationship or informal relationship, such as educators capability in creating pleasant and friendly classroom; 2) It is found that some indicators need to be removed because they have indicator values less than 0.5, for instance the indicator that ‘lecturers explain the relationship between the subjects being taught and other subjects outside that subjects’ is need to be removed because it has a similar meaning with another indicator that is ‘lectures explain the application of the subject in real life’.

The school-house relationships have great impact on the quality of the educational process. This article is to draw an attention to those relationships, taking into consideration particularly different relations between the teacher and the parent regarding the stage of development of the student, who is the subject of this issue. It seems that the awareness of parents and teachers of the subject matter of this relationship, on what they should focus, especially what tasks they should perform for the child’s sake and his well being, can significantly improve not only school-house relationships, but above all things, it can generally improve the situation of the child at school which he or she attends.
