The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of Scientific Approach with Guided Experiment on learning science to empower Science Process Skills. This study is a quasi-experimental research. The study design used Posttest Only Control Group Design is divided into two groups: an experimental group using a Scientific Approach with Guided Experiment and control groups using the method of lecture and discussion. The population in the study were all students of class V SD SD N Banjarejo Academic Year 2016/2017 by the number of 122 students. The sampling technique is cluster random sampling done by taking a sample of 37 fifth grade students in the experimental class A and 36 students of class V C in the control class. The instrument used was a questionnaire, observation sheets, interview and test. Data science process skills were tested by t-test. The results of the analysis of hypothesis testing using t-test with significance level of 5% yield significance at p = 0.000 and the value = 0.018. Classes that implement Scieintific aproach with Guided Experiment has an average KPS higher than the class without using Scieintific aproach with Guided Experiment in the amount of 82.34 and 71.14. Based on the results of hypothesis testing can dismpulkan that Scieintific aproach with Guided Experiment in empowering capabilities of Science Process Skills Student GradeV SD N Banjarejo Madiun Academic Year 2016/2017

ABSTRAKPenulisan ini dilatar belakangi oleh pola pembelajaran yang ditekankan saat ini selain menuntut pembelajaran yang mengedepankan kemampuan berpikir kritis juga pembelajaran harus menggunakan pendekatan saintifik. Kebanyakan peserta didik menganggap bahwa materi fisika terutama subkonsep kalor adalah materi abstrak. Untuk itu, perlu ada aplikasi dalam pembelajaran yaitu dengan mengaplikasikan model inkuiri terbimbing berbantuan LKPD agar peserta didik dapat meningkatkan keterampilan proses sainsnya. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu mendeskripsikan aplikasi model inkuiri terbimbing berbantuan LKPD untuk meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains pada materi kalor. Metode yang digunakan dalam penulisan ini yaitu dengan studi kepustakaan dengan mengkaji beberapa literatur untuk dianalisis dan dibuat kesimpulan. Hasil penulisan menunjukkan bahwa model inkuiri terbimbing berbantuan LKPD untuk peserta didik dapat menjadi solusi dari permasalahan yang ditemui dalam meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains peserta didik di kelas. Model inkuiri terbimbing berbantuan LKPD diaplikasikan kepada peserta didik di Sekolah Menengah Atas dengan beberapa langkah antara lain; peserta didik diberikan masalah untuk dipecahkan, masalah diberikan dalam bentuk LKPD, selanjutnya melakukan proses analisis dan diskusi untuk menemukan solusi dari masalah yang ditemukan, setelah itu peserta didik melakukan presentasi kepada kelompok lain dengan LKPD yang sudah di isi selama proses pembelajaran berlangsug. Dengan demikian, pembelajaran dengan model inkuiri terbimbing dapat meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains peserta didik di kelas Kata Kunci: Inkuiri terbimbing, LKPD, Keterampilan proses sains ABSTRACTThis article was based on the learning patterns that are emphasized at present, apart from demanding learning that prioritizes critical thinking skills, learning must also use a scientific approach. Most students consider that Physics, especially the sub-concept of heat, is an abstract material. For this reason, there was a need for an application in learning, namely by applying a guided inquiry model assisted by LKPD so that students can improve their science process skills. The purpose of this research was to describe the application of the guided inquiry model assisted by LKPD to improve science process skills in heat material. The method used in this writing is literature study by reviewing some of the literature to be analyzed and made conclusions. The results of the writing show that the guided inquiry model assisted by LKPD for students can be a solution to the problems encountered in improving the science process skills of students in the classroom. The LKPD-assisted guided inquiry model was applied to students in Senior High Schools with several steps, among others; students were given problems to solve, problems were given in the form of LKPD, then carried out a process of analysis and discussion to find solutions to the problems found, after that students made presentations to other groups with LKPD that have been filled during the learning process. <p class="5abstrak">The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of Scientific Approach to learning science by setting Problem Based Learning (PBL) to empower Science Process Skill (SPS). This study is a quasi-experimental research with Posttest Only Control Group Design which divided into two groups: an experimental group using a Scientific Approach to setting PBL and control groups using expository method and experiment. The population are 124 second semester students of the 2015/2016 academic year. Sample was selected randomly from classess, and two classes was selected, i.e II/F class consisted of 38 students was selected as experimental class, and 36 students of the II/D class was determined as control class. Data of Science Process Skills tested by t-test. Results of analysis of test of hypothesis with a significance level of 5%, shows that the result of significance at p = 0.000 with t-test = 0.016. It means the students' SPS in the experimental class was 83.64, or higher than the control class (73.32). It can be concluded that the Scientific Approach on learning science by setting Problem Based Learning as the method had revealed as an approach to improve Science Process Skill of students.</p>

Abstract. Learning science in schools could be very "challenging" for the teachers since they have to implement scientific learning which focuses on student-centered as much as possible. This research was oriented on a scientific approach in which related to process skills and student learning outcomes. The pre-experimental research used a one-shot case study design. The research was conducted on VIII-A class at one of the state junior high schools in Palangka Raya. The data collection techniques were observation and written tests. The results showed that: (1) there were 40% of students who had science process skills in the very good category, 44% in the good category, and 16% in the fair category; (2) there were 73.33% of the students who had achieved the learning outcomes mastery. The application of the scientific approach had positive impact on science process skills and student learning outcomes. However, another interesting finding was that the students still had difficulties in linking the material being studied with everyday reality.Keywords: science learning. scientific approach, process skills.Abstrak. Pembelajaran IPA di sekolah sangat “menantang” guru sedapat mungkin mengimplementasikan pembelajaran saintifik yang berpusat pada peserta didik. Penelitian ini berorientasi pada pendekatan saintifik, kaitannya dengan keterampilan proses dan hasil belajar peserta didik. Penelitian pre-experimental design ini menggunakan one-shot case study. Penelitian dilakukan pada peserta didik kelas VIII-A pada salah satu SMP Negeri di Palangka Raya. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi dan tes tertulis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) Sebanyak 40% peserta didik memiliki keterampilan proses sains dengan kategori yang sangat baik, 44% dengan kategori baik, dan 16% dengan kategori cukup baik. (2) Sebanyak 73.33% peserta didik telah mencapai ketuntasan hasil belajar. Penerapan pendekatan Saintifik berdampak positif terhadap capaian keterampilan proses sains serta hasil belajar peserta didik. Namun demikian, temuan menarik lainnya adalah peserta didik masih kesulitan mengaitkan materi yang dipelajari dengan realita sehari-hari.Kata kunci: pembelajaran IPA. pendekatan saintifik, keterampilan proses.

This study aimed to: 1) know the influence of the implementation of experimental-based scientific approach on physic learning toward the improvement of Science Process Skill of class X student of MAN Ende on even semester of academic year 2016/2017, 2) know the influence of the implementation of experimental-based scientific approach on physics learning toward the improvement of scientific attitude of class X student of MAN Ende on even semester of academic year 2016/2017. The research type is experimental research with the pre-experimental design and one-shot case study model. The population of the study was students of class X IPA MAN Ende which had the total of 136 students, and the sample of research was 30 students by purposive sampling technique. The data of the research sample is the score of science process skills and students' scientific attitude. T-test of one sample was used in data analysis.The research results showed that: 1) Implementation of experimental-based scientific approach on physics learning has effect to the improvement of students science process skills of class X student of MAN Ende on even semester of academic year 2016/2017, due to the normality test using chi-square test obtained χ2count (4.536) χ2table (7.814), and result of data analysis on hypothesis test is obtained t-count (2.702) t_table (1.699). 2) Implementation of experimental-based scientific approach on physics learning has effect to the improvement of science attitude of class X student of MAN Ende on even semester of academic year 2016/2017, due to by χ2 count (4.503) χ2table (7.814) and t_count (8.031) t_table (1.699) on α = 5%, dk = 29.
