Statistics are studied in many fields of study including in Governmental Science, University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM). However, in reality, many UMM Government Science students do not understand the material and still have difficulty applying statistical methods, so it is necessary to provide mini research-based learning and analysis of interpretation abilities. The purpose of this research was to analyze students’ interpretative abilities in mini-research on research-based learning. The research used a qualitative descriptive method. The research sample consisted of 1 student who carried out mini research-based learning. The results of student’s reports were analyzed according to the indicators of interpretation ability. The result of the research indicated that the application of research-based learning in statistics subjects has a positive impact on students’ mathematical interpretation abilities can be seen from the achievement of the mathematical representation indicators found in the mini-research conducted by subject 1 in class. However, several things need to be improved in the mini-research conducted by subject 1, namely presenting problems and solving them in other forms. The descriptor wrote the notation in other forms and communicates the notation according to the idea.

In this millennial era, Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) is regarded as an important theme in education. The theme has emerged in all learning activities as it enables students to use critical thinking in their problem-solving. HOTS cannot be separated from Bloom’s Taxonomy. HOTS is important to be integrated with classes in diverse school settings. Therefore, the aim of this research is to draw the implementation of HOTS through Lesson Study. The research was conducted in one of the Islamic schools in south Thailand. The school is an Islamic Boarding School that integrates Islamic values in its learning and teaching process. Based on a preliminary interview with the school administrator, the students are coming from different economical backgrounds. As the consequence, they have a different level of cognitive and linguistic competence. Moreover, the present research was utilized a qualitative approach to describe the implementation of HOTS through Lesson Study. To acquire adequate data, participatory observation, Focused group discussion (FGD), and document analysis were used as the research instrument. The result shows that HOTS in this school in several activities such as game competitions, group discussion, and roleplay. It can guide students to expose their English skills

The main task of the teacher in the learning process is to lead participants to achieve their learning goals. Thus, teachers are required to always improve the quality of their learning, one of which is through the Lesson Study Learning Community (LS-LC). The purpose of this research is to describe the implementation of the Lesson Study Learning Community in SD (Sekolah Dasar-Primary School) Junrejo I, in “the 24-hour clock” material. This qualitative research employed a single case study and explained it naturally. The respondents were one teacher and 28-second graders. There were three stages in the implementation of lesson study, namely: plan, do and see. The data collection technique were using documentation and unstructured interview. The data were analyzed in a quantitative and qualitative description. The findings in the planned activity were the collaboration of teachers and lecturers in innovating and creating chapter and lesson design of “the 24-hour clock” material, considering the characteristic of students. In the open class (do the activity), the students were conducting discussions and observations. During learning, the students were comparing digital and non-digital clocks while lecturers and teachers were observing the learning process. In the seen activity, the observation result from teachers and lecturers were revealed. The implementation of Lesson Study Learning Community in grade II SD Junrejo I, on the material "24 hour time" had been going well. But the results shown that students were able to understand the material as much as 60%, students were able to collaborate in groups 45%, student’s expression was happy, excited, motivating, and cheerful, as much as 90%. It needs replanning with changes in seating arrangements, group arrangements, and group members

The integration of local wisdom, such as batik and glass painting, and other Cirebon culture in general courses (Mata Kuliah Umum/ MKU) may be an interesting alternative learning approach. This research aims to describe the implementation of character education models based on local cultural wisdom such as the ability to design batik, glass paintings, and the introduction of other typical Cirebon cultures in MKU. It employed a descriptive qualitative approach to explore naturally visible phenomena. The subjects of this research were 7th semester students of Primary School Teacher Education (Pendidikan Guru Sekolah Dasar/ PGSD), University of Muhammadiyah Cirebon (UMC), class of 2016. The data were obtained from observations and interviews involving 15 respondents consisting of students, lecturers, and the Head of PGSD UMC. The results showed that MKU increased students' knowledge and skills outside the field of education as the students were enthusiastically embraced the Cirebon culture given in MKU. It can be concluded that MKU based on local wisdom was able to hone the skills of PGSD UMC students in improving their affective, psychomotor, and cognitive abilities. Thus, students were prepared to have holistic abilities that are compatible with the challenges of a new life.

The innovation in Information and Communication Technology (ICT)-based learning media is a critical learning alternative during the Covid-19 pandemic. One of the ICT-based learning media is android-based educational games. This research aims to develop android-based educational games on object-oriented programming (OOP) courses for Information Technology Education (ITE) students and to find out the feasibility of this product in online learning optimization. This research employed Research and Development (R&D) with Analysis, Design, Develop, Implement, Evaluate (ADDIE) development model. Participants of this research were the fifth-semester ITE students. Questionnaires validated by learning material and media experts were tested on limited groups before being distributed to the participants. Results show that the feasibility level on the material content aspect is 93.2%, and the language aspect is 93.3%, referring to very feasible criteria. The feasibility level on the content quality is 90%, the design and audio aspects are 95%, and interaction and feedback are 93.75%, referring to very feasible criteria. The trial results of the limited group are 96% with very feasible criteria. These findings indicate that android-based educational games are feasible and can be implemented in the learning process.

This research aimed to analyze the function and content of community limerick in Desa Kopong, Kecamatan Kewapante, Kabupaten Sikka. Spoken literature works are largely practiced in this community to transfer messages among people. This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The obtained data were in the form of rhymes and verses obtained from engagement techniques and participant observation. The obtained data were analyzed through content analysis techniques and data validation with triangulation methods. Results showed that the community limerick in Desa Kopong functions as a means of recreation, aesthetics, didactic, morality, and religion. The content of the limericks includes reinforcement of the values ​​of grit, resilience, politeness, volunteerism, and religion. Finding from this research is significant for Bahasa Indonesia (BI) lesson in junior high schools (SMP), especially related to students’ competency in analyzing the forms and contents of community limerick.

Belajar dan Pembelajaran (learning and teaching learning) requires high analytical skills, flexible time, and supporting learning media, one of which is books. This research aims to design and develop teaching books for Belajar dan Pembelajaran that are MOODLE-based. This research employed Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE technique. Participants of this research are second-semester students of the PJKR IKIP Budi Utomo Program (the year 2019-2020) who took the Belajar dan Pembelajaran course. Questionnaire technique was employed to determine the feasibility of teaching books, and to test student learning outcomes after using MOODLE-based teaching books. The standard assessment of content from media experts is 57 with a percentage of 95%, referring to very good criteria without revision. The visual standard assessment from media experts is 61 with a percentage of 94%, referring to very good criteria without revision. The content standard assessment from material experts is 48 with a percentage of 80%, referring to very good criteria without revision. The visual standard assessment from material experts is 53 with a percentage of 82%, referring to very good criteria without revision. Teaching books’ effectiveness (N-gain) is 0.52 on moderate criteria.

Android-based learning media for Social Studies (SS) might reduce boredom and accelerate student learning because it conveys attractive, creative, and innovative learning materials that support independent learning. This study aims to develop android-based learning media for SS about the Kingdom and Relics of Hindu-Buddhist. It employed Research and Development (R&D) with Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation (ADDIE) model. Validation by material experts and linguists stated that the learning media was feasible with 61.5% and 70%. Results show that the learning media is suitable to use by 88.2%. The product trials resulted in practical products by 100% from educational practitioners, and 80.2% from students. This finding indicates that the media is effective, as can be seen, that 26 out of 32 students scored above the minimum grade. It is suggested that SS learning media are developed through further research by utilizing virtual reality technology. This may accelerate student understanding as the use of videos and pictures, and virtual reality to images and objects help depict things clearly.

Students’ low interest in History is a common problem to many teachers. Prezi was hypothesized to increase students’ interest in learning History. This study aims to develop a Prezi-based program through a 4D model for History subjects taught to the 10th graders (first graders of High School). It employed observation and questionnaire methods. Participants of this study were students of SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Jember, SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Jember, and SMA Muhammadiyah 3 Jember. The data analysis involved learning material, media, and design validation. Results show that the first stage design was 81%, categorized as good; while the second stage design was 92%, categorized as very good. Results of the first stage material expert validation obtained 62%m categorized as poor; and the second validation obtained 77%, categorized as good. These findings indicate that Prezi-based media development is feasible and effective as a medium for learning History.

Empowering students’ metacognitive awareness is among the 21st century learning strategies. This research aims to determine the profile of students’ metacognitive awareness in Biology subject through the implementation of Cooperative Script (CS) modification strategy combined with Hybrid-PjBl. It employed quantitative method with the participants of students from XI IPA SMA 5 Malang. The instrument for data collection was Metacognitive Awareness Inventory, with descriptive statistics and Pearson Product Moment as data analysis techniques. Results show that 20% of students’ metacognitive awareness was in the “very good” category; 40% of students in the “good” category; while the remaining 40% were in the “fair” category. Based on more detailed analyses, one component of metacognition is classified as “fair”, six components are classified as “good”, while the rest is classified as “very good”. Most metacognition components are correlated with each other. These findings indicate that Biology learning with CS modification combined with Hybrid-PjBL potentially empowers students’ metacognitive awareness.
