Agricultural application of urban waste as nutrient source for plants and as soil conditioner, is the most cost effective option of waste management because of its advantages over traditional means such as land filling or incineration. Composting is an attractive alternative of urban waste recycling. Intensive cropping and indiscriminate fertilizer application depleted available NPK in almost all soils in India. Hence, replenishment of shoveled out nutrients is very essential, especially when exhaustive crops like cotton is cultivated. With this backdrop an experiment was conducted during kharif, 2014 carried out at College Farm, College of Agriculture, PJTSAU, Hyderabad, India to find the effect of combined application of municipal city compost with inorganic fertilisers on the yield, quality and economics of Bt cotton. The experiment was laid out in randomised complete block design with three replicates and eleven treatments viz; 100 % NPK alone (RDF: 150: 60: 60 kg NPK ha-1)100% NPK + FYM (farmers practice) and 100 %, 75%, 50% NPK integrated with 3 levels of Godavari Gold (GG) @ 1.25, 1.875 and 2.5 tonnes ha-1 respectively. The results indicated that Bt cotton registered significantly higher yield attributes and yield with the integrated application of 100 % NPK + 2.5 t ha-1 of Godavari Gold compost as compared to 100% NPK alone, 100% NPK + FYM (farmers practice) and 75 % RDF (112.5-45-45 kg NPK ha-1) and 50 % RDF (75-30-30 kg NPK ha-1) integrated with Godavari gold compost @ 1.25, 1.875 and 2.5 tonnes ha-1.There were no significant differences in quality parameters. Highest gross, net returns and B: C ratio was accrued with the application of 100 % NPK + 2.5 t ha-1 of Godavari Gold compost.

The propagation of household recycling is undeniable and thorough. Recycling behaviour among households in urban areas and Malaysia has, however, received less attention. Therefore, the purpose of this preliminary study is to outline the influence that household behaviour is motivated through waste recycling. The survey carried out in six (6) suburbs of Shah Alam using a convenient sampling method to perform a site inventory and questionnaire survey. The findings are affected by the influences of recycling and individual activities representing their contribution to recycling domestic waste. This study is a preliminary study of the politics of recognition of women with disabilities in th eaftermath of the 2006 earthquake in Bantul and Klaten, Yogyakarta and Central Java. In this preliminary study, it is found that there is transformation in the disability movement in both regions. The author would like to underline that the role of new women with disabilities affected by earthquake can encourage the transformation of the women with disabilities’ movement. These changes can be seen from all sides which before the earthquake, the discourse of women with disabilities are seen as a personal tragedy wher edisability issues are seen as an individual problem. The common approach used to deal with them is a charity activities, training services that are clinically aimed to make them as normal people and have independent lives. After the earthquake, there are a lot of DPO(Disabled People Organization) and association sfor persons with disabilities which accomodate not just those affected by the earthquake, but also all persons with disabilities who had been hidden by their families and socially marginalized. They appear to becoming out and giving a lesson to the people that the differences are common and normalization project is a choice that they have rights to refuse if it is not desired by them. In fact, they also have been able to counter the mainstream women’s movement discourse that their interests are also entitled to be accommodated in universal women’s discourse. This preliminary study which conducted by qualitative research methods withan ethnographic approach is still very early and still continuing with further research.Key words: women with disabilities, earthquake, politics of recognition, DPO (Disabled People Organization), individual and social model of disabilities
