The digital is now an integral part of everyday cultural practices globally. This ubiquity makes studying digital culture both more complex and divergent. Much of the literature on digital culture argues that it is increasingly informed by playful and ludified characteristics. In this phenomenon, there has been a rise of innovative and playful methods to explore identity politics and place-making in an age of datafication. At the core of the interdisciplinary debates underpinning the understanding of digital culture is the ways in which STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) and HASS (Humanities, Arts and Social Science) approaches have played out in, and through, algorithms and datafication (e.g., the rise of small data [ethnography] to counteract big data). As digital culture becomes all-encompassing, data and its politics become central. To understand digital culture requires us to acknowledge that datafication and algorithmic cultures are now commonplace—that is, where data penetrate, invade, and analyze our daily lives, causing anxiety and seen as potentially inaccurate statistical captures. Alongside the use of big data, the quantified self (QS) movement is amplifying the need to think more about how our data stories are being told and who is doing the telling. Tensions and paradoxes ensure—power and powerless; tactic and strategic; identity and anonymity; statistics and practices; and big data and little data. The ubiquity of digital culture is explored through the lens of play and playful resistance. In the face of algorithms and datafication, the contestation around playing with data takes on important features. In sum, play becomes a series of methods or modes of critique for agency and autonomy. Playfully acting against data as a form of resistance is a key method used by artists, designers, and creative practitioners working in the digital realm, and they are not easily defined.

Este trabalho é proveniente de um estudo desenvolvido na Comunidade Indígena Itxala, município de Santa Terezinha, Estado de Mato Grosso, acerca das práticas socioculturais empreendidas pelos indígenas Iny-Karajá em distintas atividades cotidianas que contemplam as paisagens de manifestações culturais e originárias do povo das águas. Como ponto de partida, trazemos a seguinte indagação: Em que termos é possível etnografar os saberes originários do povo Iny-Karajá na perspectiva de mobilizar e potencializar ações educativas para a sala de aula? Nesse sentido, objetivamos descrever as práticas socioculturais que podem mobilizar e potencializar atividades para o ensino de Ciências e Matemática. O estudo pauta-se na abordagem qualitativa de cunho etnográfico, permitindo evidenciar as impressões e as percepções dos professores, por meio da entrevista narrativa e da participação para observar o cotidiano desses indígenas no decurso da realização de suas práticas socioculturais, com destaque para as pinturas corporais e as ações educativas. Nossas reflexões evidenciam, dentre outras possibilidades, o compartilhar de novos conhecimentos e de atividades escolares na e para a sala de aula mediadas por elementos socioculturais do contexto comunitário, emergindo a negociação de significados como estratégia mediadora e potencializadora do aprendizado de Ciências e Matemática no contexto escolar local.Palavras-chave: Práticas socioculturais. Ensino de Ciências e Matemática. Abstract: This work comes from a study developed in the Itxala Indigenous Community, located in the municipality of Santa Terezinha, State of Mato Grosso, Brazil. It is focused on addressing socio-cultural practices of the Iny-Karajá indigenous people during their different daily activities, which include cultural and original manifestations of the people of the waters. As a starting point, we bring the following question: How is it possible to know, through ethnography, the knowledge originating from the Iny-Karajá people in the perspective of mobilizing and enhancing educational actions for the classroom? So, we aim to describe the socio-cultural practices that can mobilize and enhance activities for the teaching of Science and Mathematics. This study is based on a qualitative ethnographic approach, allowing to evidence the impressions and perceptions of teachers through narrative interview and participation, with the intention of observing the daily lives of these indigenous people during the performance of their socio-cultural practices, with emphasis on body paintings and educational actions. Among other possibilities, our reflections show the sharing of new knowledge and school activities in and for the classroom, mediated by sociocultural elements of the community context, making the negotiation of meanings emerge as a mediating and enhancing strategy for the learning of Sciences and Mathematics in the local school context.Keywords: Sociocultural practices. In the world of modern health, despite the fact that we've been blessed with amazing advances of late - the advent of personalised medicine is just one example - “change” for most citizens seems slow. There are clear discrepancies in availability of the best care for all, the divisions in access from country to country, wealthy to poor, are large. There are even discrepancies between regions of the larger countries, where access often varies alarmingly. Too many Member States (with their competence for healthcare) appear to be clinging stubbornly to the concept of “one-size-fits-all” in healthcare and often stifle advances possible through personalised medicine. Meanwhile, the legislative arena encompassing health has grown big and unwieldy in many respects. And bigger is not always better. The health advances spoken of above, an increased knowledge on the part of patients, the emergence of Big Data and more, are quickly changing the face of healthcare in Europe. But healthcare thinking across the EU isn't changing fast enough. The new technologies will certainly speak for themselves, but only if allowed to do so. Acknowledging that, this article highlights a positive reform agenda, while explaining that new avenues need to be explored.

The cultural misunderstandings that can result occur in a variety of situations. This is the story of one such misunderstanding that happened a few years ago at a small suburban hospital nursery in a northeastern state.

Summary Objectives: As technology continues to evolve and rise in various industries, such as healthcare, science, education, and gaming, a sophisticated concept known as Big Data is surfacing. The concept of analytics aims to understand data. We set out to portray and discuss perspectives of the evolving use of Big Data in science and healthcare and, to examine some of the opportunities and challenges. Methods: A literature review was conducted to highlight the implications associated with the use of Big Data in scientific research and healthcare innovations, both on a large and small scale. Results: Scientists and health-care providers may learn from one another when it comes to understanding the value of Big Data and analytics. Small data, derived by patients and consumers, also requires analytics to become actionable. Connectivism provides a framework for the use of Big Data and analytics in the areas of science and healthcare. This theory assists individuals to recognize and synthesize how human connections are driving the increase in data. Despite the volume and velocity of Big Data, it is truly about technology connecting humans and assisting them to construct knowledge in new ways. Concluding Thoughts: The concept of Big Data and associated analytics are to be taken seriously when approaching the use of vast volumes of both structured and unstructured data in science and health-care. Future exploration of issues surrounding data privacy, confidentiality, and education are needed. A greater focus on data from social media, the quantified self-movement, and the application of analytics to “small data” would also be useful.

With the revolutionary development of cloud computing and internet of things, the integration and utilization of “big data” resources is a hot topic of the artificial intelligence research. Face recognition technology information has the advantages of being non-replicable, non-stealing, simple and intuitive. Video face tracking in the context of big data has become an important research hotspot in the field of information security. In this paper, a multi-feature fusion adaptive adjustment target tracking window and an adaptive update template particle filter tracking framework algorithm are proposed. Firstly, the skin color and edge features of the face are extracted in the video sequence. The weighted color histogram are extracted which describes the face features. Then we use the integral histogram method to simplify the histogram calculation of the particles. Finally, according to the change of the average distance, the tracking window is adjusted to accurately track the tracking object. At the same time, the algorithm can adaptively update the tracking template which improves the accuracy and accuracy of the tracking. The experimental results show that the proposed method improves the tracking effect and has strong robustness in complex backgrounds such as skin color, illumination changes and face occlusion.
