AbstractPlants integrate internal and external signals to finely coordinate growth and defense allowing for maximal fitness within a complex environment. One common model for the relationship between growth and defense is a trade-off model in which there is a simple negative interaction between growth and defense theoretically driven by energy costs. However, there is a developing consensus that the coordination of growth and defense likely involves a more conditional and intricate connection. To explore how a transcription factor network may coordinate growth and defense, we used high-throughput phenotyping to measure growth and flowering in a set of single and pairwise mutants previously linked to the aliphatic glucosinolate defense pathway. Showing the link between growth and aliphatic glucosinolate defense, 17 of the 20 tested TFs significantly influence plant growth and/or flowering time. These effects were conditional upon the environment, age of the plant and more critically varied amongst the phenotypes when using the same genotype. The phenotypic effects of the TF mutants on SC GLS accumulation and on growth did not display a simple correlation, supporting the coordination model. We propose that large transcription factor networks create a system to integrate internal and external signals and separately modulate growth and the accumulation of the defensive aliphatic GLS.

We propose that large TF networks integrate internal and external signals and separately modulate growth and the accumulation of the defensive aliphatic GLS.

The present study was conducted to examine the relationship between organisational stress and organisational citizenship behaviours (OCBs) in employees of call centers. The study also further explored as how stress at work set-up has negative impact on OCBs. A sample of 250 employees working in call centre of Gurgaon belonging to an age group of 25-30 years were selected on availability basis. All were working married couples living in nuclear families. Job stress survey (Spielberger & Vagg, 1999) and Organisational Citizenship Behaviour (Bateman & Organ, 1983) were administered. Data was analysed by using simple correlation and multiple regression. Results showed the negative relationship between organisational stress and OCBs. Results of regression analysis also exhibited the negative impact of stress on OCBs. The implications for the employees are discussed.

Microphthalmia-associated transcription factor (MITF) is the principal transcription factor regulating pivotal processes in melanoma cell development, growth, survival, proliferation, differentiation and invasion. In recent years, convincing evidence has been provided attesting key roles of endolysosomal cation channels, specifically TPCs and TRPMLs, in cancer, including breast cancer, glioblastoma, bladder cancer, hepatocellular carcinoma and melanoma. In this review, we provide a gene expression profile of these channels in different types of cancers and decipher their roles, in particular the roles of two-pore channel 2 (TPC2) and TRPML1 in melanocytes and melanoma. We specifically discuss the signaling cascades regulating MITF and the relationship between endolysosomal cation channels, MAPK, canonical Wnt/GSK3 pathways and MITF.

Many of Bunda's Tourism Diploma graduates are still unemployed because some are less interested in becoming self-employed. It because students are not motivated to become entrepreneurs, and the family environment is not yet supported. This study aimed to measure: the relationship between entrepreneurial learning outcomes, entrepreneurial motivation, and family environment with interest in entrepreneurship. This type of research is descriptive correlational. This research population is all students of the Hospitality study program of the Bunda Padang Tourism Academy, batch 2017 and 2018, totaling 61 students. The sample in this study were 61 students using the total sampling technique. The data collection instrument used a questionnaire using a Likert scale and data analysis methods, including simple correlation and multiple correlations. Research is expected to increase students' entrepreneurial knowledge through attitudes, knowledge, and skills to overcome entrepreneurial tasks' complexity, providing real experiences for students to carry out entrepreneurial practices.
