Today the volume of healthcare data generated increased rapidly because of the number of patients in each hospital increasing.  These data are most important for decision making and delivering the best care for patients. Healthcare providers are now faced with collecting, managing, storing and securing huge amounts of sensitive protected health information. As a result, an increasing number of healthcare organizations are turning to cloud based services. Cloud computing offers a viable, secure alternative to premise based healthcare solutions. The infrastructure of Cloud is characterized by a high volume storage and a high throughput. The privacy and security are the two most important concerns in cloud-based healthcare services. Healthcare organization should have electronic medical records in order to use the cloud infrastructure. This paper surveys the challenges of cloud in healthcare and benefits of cloud techniques in health care industries.

Cloud Computing is a new way of delivering computing resources and services. It is a model for on-demand network access to a shared pool of configurable computing resources like, networks, servers, storage, applications, and services that can be provided with minimal management effort or service provider interaction. The cloud model is composed of five essential characteristics, four service models, and four deployment models. Healthcare is faster growing way to adopt cloud computing. It is very important for every individual and essential for every country in the Globe. Electronic healthcare systems in the world are moving towards a more accessible, collaborative and more proactive way in reaching out to the public. The delivering of public health solutions can lead to increased efficiencies in health related data. Many nations across the globe have launched aggressive stimulus programs aimed at solving public healthcare problems in efficient way. This review article mainly focus on different ICT based infrastructure facilities available in various hospitals in India, abroad with cost effective manner using cloud computing technologies, services and this will be a best solutions for healthcare systems in rural areas. In this paper analyzed and presented about various cloud service providers, investment in healthcare, IT adoption in Indian Healthcare sector, Major benefits of Cloud-based Patient Management System [PMS], about SADA systems, Top ten cloud storage companies in healthcare and Pros and Cons of EHR systems, comparison of Indian healthcare systems with US system, and various Cloud Simulators.

The eHealth is a rapidly evolving and changing field. The different models and protocols of medical information system (MIS) are now available. The MIS and its everyday usage is extremely beneficial for the healthcare sector, but its introduction in everyday practice is slow. Cloud computing is perspective field and it differs from the conventional distributed computing by its focus on large-scale sharing, innovative applications, and high-performance orientation. This paper defines “cloud computing” as flexible, secure, coordinated resource for data sharing among dynamic collections of individuals, institutions, and etc. It should be emphasized, that cloud computing can be reviewed as a useful tool for sharing of computing resources and services. The author expects that this technology has huge potential in health care and can improve health care services, as well as provide benefits for health care research. It is proposed that the solution is the widespread and routine implementation of the medical information system. The present article will discuss the application of cloud computing for the medical information system practical usage. The goal in the information age must be to create knowledge from medical information with less time managing medical information and data. The availability of adaptable technology and possibility of improvement of the infrastructure conditions is the basis for medical informatics applications. The routine application of MIS by healthcare organization holds the potential to improve, develop and realize medical service in the effective and comprehensive mode.

Cloud computing is an emerging technology that is expected to support internet-scale critical applications, which could be essential to the healthcare sector. Its scalability, resilience, adaptability, connectivity, cost reduction, and high-performance features have high potential to lift the efficiency and quality of healthcare. With the widespread application of healthcare information and communication technology, constructing a stable and sustainable data sharing circumstance has attracted rapidly growing attention in both academic research area and the healthcare industry. Cloud computing is one of long dreamed visions of healthcare cloud (HC), which matches the need of healthcare workers, information sharing directly to various health providers over the internet, regardless of their location and the amount of data. This chapter proposes a cloud model for health information sharing and integration in HC and looks into the arising challenges in healthcare.

Cloud computing is a novel prototype to provide services via the internet. Most of the fields like banking, industries, educational institutions, and healthcare are storing their applications, data and accessing it through cloud because of its versatility and affordable price. Even though cloud has a many special feature, data security and privacy are the most important issues in a cloud background. Especially in healthcare sector, according to recent report numerous amount of healthcare data breached by unknown websites and hackers, and much healthcare information breaches are occurring around the world for different purposes and still it is vulnerable on account of storing and accessing data through third party cloud servers. Due to many attacks on personal health records data security and privacy in cloud environment, it is a primary task to concentrate on solving this issue because such health information are really sensitive, and playing vital role in decision-making of patients health which wrong decision may spoil patient’s health, life along with health institution’s reputation. To ensure security and privacy, data encryption and authentication are the key technologies which are a technique to secure data and create proof identities to obtain access of data in the system. Conventional password authentication does not provide sufficient security for information to the new means of attacks. So, this paper introduces a framework for data encryption using standard RSA and Hash function and advanced multi factor authentication technique to cloud data access which authenticates the user based on different factors such as contextual, signcryption and iris bio-metric features. This prototype to cloud computing is implemented using open source technology. The proposed advanced system minimizes intermediate data access due to the complexity of key access and strong authentication. The performance of the system has been evaluated using experimental results such as encryption and decryption time, authentication accuracy, execution time.

Healthcare sector is under pressure to reduce costs while delivering high quality of care services. This situation requires that clinical staff, equipment and IT tools to be used more equitably, judiciously and efficiently. In this sense, collaborative systems have the ability to provide opportunities for healthcare organizations to share resources and create a collaborative working environment. The lack of interoperability between dissimilar systems and operating costs are the major obstacle to the implementation of this concept. Fortunately, cloud computing has great potential for addressing interoperability issues and significantly reducing operating costs. Since the laws and regulations prohibit the disclosure of health information, it is necessary to carry out a comprehensive study on security and privacy issues in cloud computing. Based on their analysis of these constraints, the authors propose a simple and efficient method that enables secure collaboration between healthcare institutions. For this reason, they propose Secure Multi-party Computation (SMC) protocols to ensure compliance with data protection legislation. Specifically, the authors use Paillier scheme to protect medical data against unauthorized usage when outsourcing computations to a public cloud. Another useful feature of this algorithm is the possibility to perform arithmetic operations over encrypted data without access to the original data. In fact, the Paillier algorithm is an efficient homomorphic encryption that supports addition operations on ciphertexts. Based on the simulation results, the proposed framework helps healthcare organizations to successfully evaluate a public function directly on encrypted data without revealing their private inputs. Consequently, the proposed collaborative application ensures privacy of medical data while completing a task.
