In order to solve the shortcomings of the landslide monitoring technology method, a set of landslides monitoring and early warning system is designed. It can achieve real-time sensor data acquisition, remote transmission and query display. In addition, aiming at the harsh environment of landslide monitoring and the performance requirements of the monitoring system, an improved minimum hop routing protocol is proposed. It can reduce network energy consumption, enhance network robustness, and improve node layout and networking flexibility. In order to realize the remote transmission of data, GPRS wireless communication is used to transmit monitoring data. Combined with remote monitoring center, real-time data display, query, preservation and landslide warning and prediction are realized. The results show that the sensor data acquisition system is accurate, the system is stable, and the node network is flexible. Therefore, the monitoring system has a good use value.

Nowadays, fiber optic technology has been used in sensing. Using the distributed optical fiber sensing technology in the landslide monitoring, the linear strain distribution information of the whole landslide can be obtained, and adopting the Fiber Bragg Grating sensing technology in the landslide monitoring, the key pot strain and displacement information can be gained. This paper firstly reviews the basic principle of optical fiber sensing, and then describes the optical fiber sensing real-time monitoring system by combining with FBG technology, BOTDR technology, database technology and web server technology, and finally presents a field application experiment using the real-time monitoring system in Ripley landslide in Canada. The experiment indicated that the real-time monitoring system can be realized real-time monitoring of FBG and BOTDR for landslide, and the experience can be extended to other landslide.

The Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) provide a globally extended dataset of primordial importance for a wide range of applications, such as crustal deformation, topographic measurements, or near surface processes studies. However, the high costs of GNSS receivers and the supporting software can represent a strong limitation for the applicability to landslide monitoring. Low-cost tools and techniques are strongly required to face the plausible risk of losing the equipment during a landslide event.

Centro di Ricerche Sismologiche (CRS) of Istituto Nazionale di Oceanografia e di Geofisica Sperimentale OGS in collaboration with SoluTOP, in the last years, has developed a cost-effective GNSS device, called LZER0, both for post-processing and real-time applications. The aim is to satisfy the needs of both scientific and professional communities which require low-cost equipment to increase and improve the measurements on structures at risk, such as landslides or buildings, without losing precision.

The landslide monitoring system implements single-frequency GNSS devices and open source software packages for GNSS positioning, dialoguing through Linux shell scripts. Furthermore a front-end web page has been developed to show real-time tracks. The system allows measuring real-time surface displacements with a centimetre precision and with a cost ten times minor than a standard RTK GPS operational system.

This monitoring system has been tested and now applied to two landslides in NE- Italy: one near Tolmezzo municipality and one near Brugnera village. Part of the device development has been included inside the project CLARA 'CLoud plAtform and smart underground imaging for natural Risk Assessment' funded by the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR).

This paper, based on the origin of Karst Area landslide and the geographical conditions of Guizhou, studies the application of WSN technology on monitoring and forecast landslide and other geological disasters in Karst, and then put forward a landslide monitoring plan. We study the data acquisition layer node topology, and construct WSN monitoring system and test it under the stimulated environment. The result has shown that, the constructed monitoring system can meet the need of real time monitoring of landslide stability in Karst Area.

Traditional road-embedded monitoring systems for traffic monitoring have the disadvantages of a short life, high energy consumption and data redundancy, resulting in insufficient durability and high cost. In order to improve the durability and efficiency of the road-embedded monitoring system, a pavement vibration monitoring system is developed based on the Internet of things (IoT). The system includes multi-acceleration sensing nodes, a gateway, and a cloud platform. The key design principles and technologies of each part of the system are proposed, which provides valuable experience for the application of IoT monitoring technology in road infrastructures. Characterized by low power consumption, distributed computing, and high extensibility properties, the pavement vibration IoT monitoring system can realize the monitoring, transmission, and analysis of pavement vibration signal, and acquires the real-time traffic information. This road-embedded system improves the intellectual capacity of road infrastructure and is conducive to the construction of a new generation of smart roads.

In this paper, we have described an operative prototype for Internet of Things (IoT) used for consistent monitoring various environmental sensors by means of low cost open source embedded system. The explanation about the unified network construction and the interconnecting devices for the consistent measurement of environmental parameters by various sensors and broadcast of data through internet is being presented. The framework of the monitoring system is based on a combination of embedded sensing units, information structure for data collection, and intellectual and context responsiveness. The projected system does not involve a devoted server computer with respect to analogous systems and offers a light weight communication protocol to monitor environment data using sensors. Outcomes are inspiring as the consistency of sensing information broadcast through the projected unified network construction is very much reliable. The prototype was experienced to create real-time graphical information rather than a test bed set-up.

This paper approaches an IoT based vehicle health monitoring system that is embedded for detecting the condition of a vehicle by monitoring the internal parameters such as heating rate, engine oil level and status of the CO of the vehicle. It is a real time vehicle health monitoring system is designed and developed to detect and identify the actuator and sensor faults created by automatically or manually by the user of the vehicle. Actually, Vehicles need repair after a certain interval of time and if are not repaired at fixed intervals, it can lead to loss of life of the persons travelling on it and there are many key issues which can affect the vehicle. So, the primary objective of this system is developing an IoT based embedded system that can detect the internal condition of a vehicle by evaluating the various parameters that are used to examine in the vehicle’s current health condition. In fact, this is a real time evaluation system that can be used for rapid condition screening. As a result, it provides all reliable information about the vehicle conditions. This IoT based system claims that it can detect and identify actuator and sensor faults with almost minimal detection latency even after lots of disturbances and uncertainties.
