The possibility of technical implementation for deicing of double contact wires by pulse-resonance method using a high-power electronic switch is evaluated. For a specific double-track road section of overhead line network, the parameters of the necessary step-down transformer operating in pulse mode and providing heating of the contact wires to positive temperatures are calculated. A possible range of changes in the current density of the contact wires, controlled by the relative pulse duration, is determined.

A metal mandrel was designed for manufacturing the cathodes of high power electron tube ( Tetrode ) used in broadcasting transmitting tubes type TH558 and CQS200.The cathodes were manufactured in the present work from thoriated tungsten wires ( 2? ThO2- W) with different diameters .These cathodes were carbonized in sequences of processes to determine the carbonization parameters (temperature, pressure, time, current and voltage).Then the carbonized cathodes dimension were accurately measured to determine the deviation due to the high temperature distortion effect at about 1800°C .the distorted cathodes due to the carbonization process was treated when it was subjected inside the vacuum chamber and heat treated again .The carbonized cathode distortions as a function of temperature were measured in the range of (1500°C-1800°C).The temperature was determined using an optical pyrometer and also calculated using Stephan's-Boltzmann relation.

IGCT is a kind of new type power electronic device which developed from GTO and IGBT . In this paper, Author based on analysis of the internal structure of GTO, shows how GTO development IGCT through technical methods.Through simulation of its off and on performance, the work curve and comparing results of the two devices are given. Then on two components of the inverter circuits are analyzed and compared. Thinking in large power AC drive locomotive, IGCT inverter is greatly simplifier than GTO inverter circuit, and superior performance,it will become the main converter for AC driving locomotive.
