In the present study was estimate the genetic diversity and relationships among nine horses breeds in Czech and Slovak Republic.In conclusion, the main objective of study was to show the level of genetic distance among the horse breeds with different history of breeding of each country. Furthermore, it should be clarified whether these populations and subpopulations are distinct enough from each other to justify defining separate breeds. This research concerns the variability of microsatellite markers in genotypes of horse. We compared the genetic diversity and distance among nine horse breeds Czech and Slovak Warmblood both of Czech origin, Slovak Warmblood of Slovak origin, Hucul, Hafling, Furioso, Noriker, Silesian Noriker and Bohemian-Moravian Belgian Horse.In total, 932 animals were genotyped for 17 microsatellites markers (AHT4, AHT5, ASB2, HMS3, HMS6, HMS7, HTG4, HTG10, VHL20, HTG6, HMS2, HTG7, ASB17, ASB23, CA425, HMS1, LEX3) recommended by the International Society of Animal Genetics.In the different population size, the allele frequencies, observed and expected heterozygosity, test for deviations from Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium and Polymorphism information content have been calculated for each breed. We analyzed genetic distance and diversity among them on the base of the dataset of highly polymorphic set of microsatellites representing all autozomes using set of PowerMar­ker v3.25 analysis tools and Structure 2.2. programme for results comparison.

Clarias anguillaris is a wild species found in River basins in Mali. It is the species most commonly used in fish farming in community stockings. However, it excites little study on the genetic diversity of this species in the natural environment in Mali. The present study focused on the genetic diversity of Clarias anguillaris from the Bakoye River, a tributary of the Senegal River in Mali. A total of (8) microsatellite markers were applied to 47 samples taken at random from the River. The markers were Cga02, Cga03, Cga06, Cga10, Cba11, Cba19, Cba20 and Cma12. The number of alleles, the number of genotype, genetic diversity, Polymorphism Information content (PIC), observed and expected heterozygosity were determined. The results showed that the number of alleles ranged from 1 to 7, with an average of 4.25 per locus. The mean rate of observed heterozygosity was 0.34 lower than that of expected heterozygosity which was 0.48 indicating nonconformity of the Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium. The allele frequency ranged from 0.35 at the Cba19 locus to 1 at the Cba11 locus, with a mean of 0.62. Genetic diversity ranged from 0 for Cba11 to 0.75 for Cba19. The markers Cga02, Cga03, Cga06, Cba19, Cba20 and Cma12 were polymorphic with an average peak of 0.42. The phylogenetic tree presented two groups of genotypes showing diversity within the species. Group I comprised 60.42% of individuals and group II presented 39.58% with 3 subgroups (A, B and C). The genetic distance (0.05) indicates little differentiation between individuals.

<p class="1Body">The growth superiority of hybrid scallop <em>Chlamys farreri </em>(♀) × <em>Patinopecten yessoensis </em>(♂), as the following successive generation selection have been reported. However, the data about the genetic diversity in those population remains unexplored. In this study, the genetic structure analysis of F<sub>1</sub>, F<sub>2</sub> and F<sub>3 </sub>were conducted by PCR with 10 Simple Sequence Repeats (SSR) primers. It showed that a total of 68 alleles were detected, and the number of alleles per locus ranged from 3 to 11, Polymorphism Information Content<em> </em>(<em>PIC</em>) per locus ranged from 0.4729 to 0.8429. And, the average observed heterozygosity (<em>H<sub>o</sub></em>) of the three populations were 0.6100, 0.6975 and 0.7750, while the average expected heterozygosity (<em>H<sub>e</sub></em>) were 0.7607, 0.7751 and 0.7379 respectively. <em>F<sub>st </sub></em>values among the three populations were also low (<em>F<sub>st</sub></em>&lt;0.05) which suggested low genetic differentiation between each two populations. In all, those data indicated the genetic structure challenge caused by hybridization and selection, supplying a new angle to understand artificial selective breeding.</p>

Aim. Our work was aimed at the evaluation of genetic diversity of three domestic equine breeds which differ by the history of their formation and use. Methods. Genotyping of DNA samples of three breeds of horses, namely, Hucul (78 animals), Thoroughbred (51 animals) and Ukrainian Saddle Horse (152 animals), was conducted by 11 microsatellite loci, recommended by the International Stud Book Committee (ISBC) and the International Society for Animal Genetics (ISAG). The mathematical analysis involved parametric and non-parametric methods of statistics. Results. The results of polymorphism analysis of the gene funds for Hucul, Thoroughbred and Ukrainian Saddle horses by 11 microsatellite DNA loci were fi rst presented in Ukraine. It was demonstrated that the study of microsatellite DNA loci allows both determining the reliability of origin of pedigree animals and controlling population processes in different breeds and the polymorphy of the very breeds. Conclusions. The molecular and genetic analysis of equine breeds, differing by their provenance, demonstrated specifi cities of genetic structure of each breed, which correspond to the formation history of their gene funds. The populational-genetic analysis using different mathematical methods is recommended for the purposes of evaluating and forecasting microevolution processes, controlling gene fund formation both during the breeding work and within the system of preserving genetic biodiversity

The aim of this study was to evaluate the genetic variability of the White Kołuda® goose and 12 conservative flocks: Kielecka, Podkarpacka, Garbonosa, Pomerian, Rypinska, Landes, Lubelska, Suwalska, Kartuska, Romanska, Slowacka, and Kubanska, maintained in Poland using microsatellite data. The genetic diversity of geese kept in Poland remains poorly analyzed at the molecular level. In total 392 samples were examined with the usage of 15 microsatellite markers. 119 alleles were identified and the number of alleles per locus ranged from 1 to 13. The highest number of alleles was observed in TTUCG5 (16) and the lowest in CAUD-G007 (2), while CKW47 was monomorphic. The lowest value of expected heterozygosity (He) was observed in Landes, while the highest in Romanska. Similarly, the observed heterozygosity (Ho) was the lowest in Landes but the highest in Kartuska. The polymorphism information content (PIC) indicates loci TTUCG5 as the most valuable microsatellite marker among those examined. The Structure software was used for the first time to identify goose populations, revealing high admixture between breeds and their close genetic propinquity. Moreover, the presented panel of microsatellite markers remained polymorphic and is useful for population studies of geese and assessment of genetic diversity.

In this study, six microsatellite markers were adopted to detect the genetic diversity and analyze the genetic distance of three Chinese indigenous sheep breeds. The results showed that 161 alleles were detected in the three breeds of sheep populations, and the average effective number of alleles, the average polymorphism information content (PIC) of six microsatellite markers in fat-tailed sheep, small tailed han-sheep, Yuxi fat-tailed sheep were 5.8844, 6.3103, 4.8017 and 0.7463, 0.7790, 0.7140 respectively. Five markers were highly polymorphic except marker ILSTS011 which gave moderate polymorphic. Except markers OarFCB48, OarFCB304 and BL1038, the other three microsatellite markers deviated significantly from the Hardy-Weinberg Equilibrium (P

The aim of this study was to assess genetic structure of Slovak Pinzgau populationbased on polymorphism at molecular markers using statistical methods. Femaleoffspring of 12 most frequently used bulls in Slovak Pinzgau breeding programmewere investigated. Pinzgau cattle were found to have a high level of diversity,supported by the number of alleles observed across loci (average 5.31, range 2-11)and by the high within-breed expected heterozygosity (average 0.66, range 0.64-0.73). The state of genetic diversity is satisfying and standard for local populations.Detection of 12 possible subpopulation structures provided us with detailedinformation of the genetic structure. The Bayesian approach was applied, detectingthree, as the most probable number of clusters. The similarity of eachsubpopulation using microsatellites was confirmed also by high-throughputmolecular data. The observed inbreeding (FROH=2.3%) was higher than thatexpected based on pedigree data (FPED=0.4%) due to the limited number ofavailable generations in pedigree data. One of the most important steps indevelopment of efficient autochthonous breed protection programs ischaracterization of genetic variability and assessment of the population structure.The chosen set of microsatellites confirmed the suitability in determination of thesubpopulations of Pinzgau cattle in Slovakia. The state of genetic diversity at moredetailed level was successfully performed using bovineSNP50 BeadChip.

Dispersal is a key component of a species’ life history, by influencing population persistence, genetic structure, adaptation and maintenance of genetic diversity. The Asiatic toad (Bufo gargarizans) is a widespread species in east Asia. However, we still have no knowledge of what kind of geographical scale equates to genetic differentiation within B. gargarizans. In this study, the population genetics of B. gargarizans was studied at five localities, with the Yangtze River running through the sampling area, in order to detect the level of genetic differentiation and the natural barriers to the species’ dispersal on a small geographic scale, by means of the development and use of novel microsatellite loci. These markers revealed a relatively high level of genetic diversity. Distinct genetic structure among populations in B. gargarizans was observed, as described by genetic distance, AMOVA, PCA and Geneland results. A weak but significant positive correlation between genetic distance and geographical distance. The combination of these findings suggests that the Yangtze River and geographic distance may act as effective barriers for B. gargarizans. These results serve as benchmark data for understanding the impacts of dispersal barriers and continued landscape research on B. gargarizans.

The Mekong River and its tributaries possess the second highest diversity in fish species in the world. However, the fish biodiversity in this river is threatened by several human activities, such as hydropower plant construction. Understanding the genetic diversity and genetic structure of the species is important for natural resource management. Belodontichthys truncatus Kottelat & Ng is endemic to the Mekong River basin and is an important food source for people in this area. In this study, the genetic diversity, genetic structure, and demographic history of the twisted-jaw fish, B. truncatus, were investigated using mitochondrial cytochrome b gene sequences. A total of 124 fish specimens were collected from 10 locations in the Mekong and its tributaries. Relatively high genetic diversity was found in populations of B. truncatus compared to other catfish species in the Mekong River. The genetic structure analysis revealed that a population from the Chi River in Thailand was genetically significantly different from other populations, which is possibly due to the effect of genetic drift. Demographic history analysis indicated that B. truncatus has undergone recent demographic expansion dating back to the end of the Pleistocene glaciation.

The current investigation was conducted to appraise the genetic diversity and genetic distance of three goat populations namely; Red Sokoto, Sahel and West African Dwarf (WAD), in Nigeria, making use of blood samples collected from 20, 20 and 20 individual from which blood DNAs were extraction, respectively. The DNAs extracted were used to study polymorphism at the ?-lactoglobulin gene locus using RLFP-PCR process. Results revealed that the mean total number of alleles was 1 while the effective number of alleles was also 1. The percentage of polymorphic locus was 0% while Shannon?s information index, observed homozygousity, expected heterozygosity, unbiased expected heterozygosity and inbreeding coefficient (F) were all observed to be 0.000. The pairwise Fst was 0.000 between all the breeds of goats. Variation within and between the populations of goats was 0% at p>0.05. The genetic distance between the goat breeds was 0.000. The present study revealed that RLFP-PCR may not be a powerful tool for the study of the ?-lactoglobulin gene locus and hence other methodologies should be employed for a broader judgment on the genetic status of the goat population at the locus.
